HYUNKI POV

 

« Ale, Yuri, come in! » Suzy calls the children

« What is it mom? » Ale asks and I see Yuri putting something in his pocket

« Dinner is ready » I tell them

« Yeah!! I’m hungry » Yuri answers cheerily

We all start eating. It’s been seven years since we always do this but I can help and be happy every time. I smile.

« Are you happy dad? » Ale asks me

« Yes I am, I’m happy to be here with you all » I answers smiling

« I’m happy too » Yuri says and hugs me. I hug him back

« We’re all happy to be together honey » my wife says sweetly

Then we keep eating and chatting.

I’m washing the dishes when I hear Suzy questioning: « Where did you take that? »

« What? » Yuri asks back

« That bracelet »

« I have no bracelets » Yuri says but I understand from his tone of voice that he’s lying

I decide to go in the living room to help Suzy

« What’s going on? » I ask

« Yuri has a new bracelet but I didn’t buy it, so I’m asking where he took it. But he keeps denying » Suzy answers

« Can you let me see it Yuri? » I ask him

« I don’t have a bracelet » he says but I see him hiding something behind his back

So I just stretch my arm and take it

« W-where did you find this?! » I ask, surprised and scared. “It can’t be hers…”

« Give it back, it’s a present!! » Yuri yells

« Tell me who gave this to you! » I order to him

« A girl with blue eyes » he whispers. “So it must be her!” I think

« Where did she go? » I ask again

« I don’t know, she left when mom called us » he whispers again

« Honey, is everything alright? » Suzy asks concerned

« I hope so, but I’m not sure… I have to go out for a while » I say running out. “Why did she gave up my gift?” I wonder running in the streets looking for a sight that reminds me of her.

 

« I’m back » I say when I get back home

« HyunKi, where have you been?! I’ve been out for three hours, I was so worried » my wife scolds me

« Sorry honey, but this bracelet belongs to a close friend of mine and she would never give it up. I’m afraid something happened to her » I explain her

« Did you find her? »

« No I didn’t. I’m going to look in Canberra tomorrow morning » I say. Then we go to bed but even with Suzy’s cuddles I have problems to relax and fall asleep.

 

DEUNGHAE POV

 

I get up early and go downstairs to have breakfast. Then I go in my room again, wash my teeth and finish to get ready. I look at my wrist. “I miss it” I think. I always wear that bracelet since Oppa gave it to me for my first birthday in the InterLab.

I take the bus and head to the village.

When I arrive it’s only nine so I walk around, I think it’s too early to go visit him. Looking around I see that it’s near to the sea, so I just go and sit on the beach, staring at the ocean. After a while I finally get up and walk to Oppa’s house. Once there I push the doorbell.

« Who is it? » a female voice asks

« I’m DeungHae, a friend of HyunKi, is he home? »

« No he’s not, he left early this morning » she answers and then I hear Yuri asking: « Who is it mommy? »

« She said she I s a friend of dad » she answers.

A second after I hear her yelling « Come here! » and I see Yuri running out.

« Hello! » he waves to me

« Hi Yuri » I smile to him

« You’re back! Dad is looking for you »

« What? Really? » I ask surprised

« Yuri, go back in now! » his mother comes out and orders

« But mom… this is the girl that dad is looking for! » Yuri complains

« Hi » I bow « I’m Shin DeungHae »

« Did you give a bracelet to Yuri yesterday? »

« Yes I did. A bracelet with a lot of animal-shaped pendants »

« Oh, then you must be her. I’m Suzy, HyunKi’s wife » she offers her hand and I shake it.

« Come in, I’ll call him and tell him to come back » Suzy says and motions inside

I just nod and follow her in

« Oh hi » Ale says surprised when he sees me

« Hi Ale » I smile. Then I sit on the couch next to him, and Yuri sits on my other side.

« So your name is DeungHae right? » Yuri asks

« Yes it is » I smile

« Such a strange name » Ale replies

« Ale! That’s mean » Suzy scolds him

« Don’t worry, I’m used to this reaction. It’s because of the color of my eyes. I think your dad suggested a part of it » I smile

« Really? » the three of them ask together surprised

« Yes, I think so… he said that they changed my name after talking to him. But I really don’t know »

« You never asked? » Yuri asks curious

« No ‘cause I love my name and anyway I just have to be grateful I have one »

« Why are you saying this? » Ale asks too

« It’s a long story, boy, maybe one day your dad can find the time to tell you » I smile to him

« He’s coming » Suzy says

« That’s good » I smile again « I really want to see him »

« Can I ask how you know him? »

« Sure. We worked together for a long time, that’s how I know him »

« Sorry it’s just that a girl comes out from nowhere saying she’s a friend of my husband… I was a little suspicious »

« Don’t worry, I can under.... » I’m cut off but the sound of the door opening and an angry scream: « SHIN DEUNGHAE!!!!!!! »
