Chapter 18
You & I Spell LoveIt was Saturday of the week Kyuhyun and Sungmin came back from their honeymoon. The day where everyone's parents would be coming in to drop off the pets and see the new place their children would be living at.
The mansions cook, Sungmin, Henry, Hangeng, and Ryeowook were busy creating the menu for the day. The maids, Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, Heechul, Yesung and Kibum were helping out with the cleaning inside the house. Kangin, Shindong, Kyuhyun, Zhou Mi, Donghae, and Siwon were helping set up the barbecue, mow the lawn, tend to the garden and make sure everything was orderly outside of the mansion. Sure the boys could've left it up the Siwon's maids and butlers but they felt that they needed to exert some effort into this. After all, they couldn’t just freeload.
Around noon all of the families started coming in, with Siwon's family being the first and Leeteuk's family being the last. All of the pets were reunited with their owners and it was all a bliss. The mothers were talking happily amongst one another, sharing each other's skincare routine, and the neighborhood gossip. The fathers were discussing politics and their work. The siblings were mingling and getting to know each other.
Seeing everyone's sibling made Sungmin feel a little lonely. He was slightly envious of everyone, and at the same time thankful for everyone. He missed his brother dearly and upon seeing Kyuhyun and his older sister, he remembered the original reason why he married Kyuhyun. He felt bad that he had ulterior motives but it is what it is. He'll explain it to Kyuhyun one day but that day won't be today.
To Sungmin, it kind of felt like bring your parent to school day where everyone else’s parents come except his. Well, they’re watching me from above. I’m not alone, these guys are my family.
The adults left rather early, saying that they had things to tend to at home. Everyone's siblings, however, remained put, as they wanted to help clean up.
It was around 9 pm when all the chores had been done, Ryeowook brewed green tea for everyone.
“Thanks for all the help!” He said as he brought in a tray full of cups, Hangeng helped him carry the second tray of cups.
Everyone sat down and began talking, the main topic of the conversation was embarrassing childhood stories.
“One time when Heechul was at Good Friday mass, he was praying out loud and says “please, God, when will this be over” the looks on our parent's faces were the best part” Heejin, Heechuls sister shared
“It was that day when I realized that I’m actually an atheist” Heechul laughed
“One time our parents took us to the swimming pool and Henry’s shorts came off but the funniest thing was, he didn’t realize until another kid asked who’s Spider-Man trunks he was holding” Whitney, Henry’s sister said
“Whitney no!! You promised you’d never speak about that” Henry whined
“One time I convinced Leeteuk that hot dogs were made out of wiener dogs. Leeteuk was so shocked he never wanted to eat hot dogs again. A few months go by and I completely forgot I told him this, and we’re at a family BBQ and Leeteuk saw wiener dogs in the park we were at, and he also saw the hot dogs. He literally started crying his eyes out, saying that the uncle who was grilling the meat was a horrible person.” Leeteuk sister, Inyoung said.
“Noona why would you ever bring back the trauma” Leeteuk pouted
“I’m your sister, that’s why” she replied
“When Yesung was in seventh grade when he was in his first relationship. He was really confused by pet names and didn’t understand their purpose. He was picking me up from the elementary school after school and he looked really angry, so I became scared, thinking that something bad happened. And then he suddenly said “I don’t understand girls, one day she was my girlfriend and now she wants to be my baby” it was the funniest thing I’d ever heard,” Jongjin, Yesung's younger brother said
Soon everyone was really tired and the siblings decided to go home. Sungmin and Donghae were cleaning the teacups everyone drank from earlier.
“Hyung, you know what I heard?” Donghae asked, looking over at Sungmin who was washing the dished
“What?” Sungmin responded without paying much attention to where the conversation was going.
“Apparently, makes your skin glow, and I’ve been wondering” Donghae continued, making Sungmin grimace “is that why your skin looks so shiny?”
“Donghae, please, never again ask me something like that” Sungmin flushed a bright red, and then tried to maintain his composure
“But I just wanna know if it’s true or not” Asked Donghae, innocently
“It’s not true, it’s a made up lie” Sungmin grumbled. “Okay, well, goodnight,” He said as he had washed the last dish in his pile.
Sungmin went back to his shared room with Kyuhyun. He definitely felt that these things took some time to get used to.
“Why are you signing, you’ve been signing nonstop since you walked into the room,” Kyuhyun asked, not looking to see Sungmin
“It’s nothing, I’m tired,” Sungmin said, he collected his pajamas from the closet and was on his way to the bathroom inside their room.
“Take your medicine before you go in for a shower,” Kyuhyun stated, still focusing on his computer monitor
Sungmin took his medicine, showered and went straight to bed. He was really tired after a long day. Sungmin felt very fatigued, even though he didn't do much except some light cleaning.
The following morning Sungmin realized what
