Savior

Savior

You couldn’t help but smile. Looking at the man standing next to you always seemed to calm your nerves. No matter how bad your day was, or how bad you were feeling. He always seemed to calm your nerves. Just looking at him, made you feel like you were okay.

“What are you staring at?” He teased, lightly pushing you.

“Nothing. You’re gross.” You whined, pushing him back.

“Whatever.” He smiled, laying back on the grass.

Taking a deep breath, you let the cool air calm your nerves even more. You haven’t been doing too well lately. Everything seemed stressful, no one seemed to be on your side, wrong things have been happening left and right, and you just weren’t at peace with yourself.

Some time away from all of that is what you really needed and he was there to take you away. What would you do without him? You didn’t know. All you did know was that, you would’ve been long gone. Letting a content sigh escape your lips, you laid back next to him.

“I’ve missed you.” He whispered, looking at you.

Refusing to meet his eyes, you continued to gaze at the stars. Clearing your throat, you started to trace patterns in the sky with your finger.

“What are you talking about? I’m always with you.” You explained.

“You know what I mean.” He stated, sitting up.

“I’ve missed YOU. Lately, you haven’t been yourself and it’s scaring me.” He confessed, running his hand through his hair.

Biting your lip, you hesitantly sat up. A topic like this isn’t exactly what you enjoy talking about. It’s actually really hard. Sighing, you brought your knees close to your chest and wrapped your arms around yourself. You rested you chin on your knee, and you fought back tears.

Closing his eyes, Minseok let out a sigh. Feeling guilty, you crawled toward him and wrapped your arms around his middle. Resting your cheek on his back, you gave him a reassuring squeeze.

“It’s not your fault.” You whispered.

Glancing over his shoulder, Minseok frowned. He didn’t want to make you feel guilty, he just didn’t know what to do anymore. Groaning, he broke your grasp around him and pulled you to sit in between his legs. Smiling at you, he kissed your forehead.

“I just don’t want you hurting yourself anymore.”

Grabbing your wrist, he rolled up your sleeve. Pain flashed across his eyes. Tracing up and down your arm, he couldn’t help but count all of the scars there. Twenty two. Looking up at you, he saw tears escape your eyes.

“Don’t cry, love.” He told you in a gentle tone. Bringing your wrist closer to his face, he started planting soft kisses for each line. Once he got to twenty two, he placed a hand on each side of your face. Smiling, he brought you closer.

“We’ll get through this together.”

Nodding, you hugged him like your life depended on it because right now, it did.

You were going to be okay, because the love of your life was going to help you get through.

That’s all you really needed.
