Remembering to Remember

Still Unexpected

Four Years Ago...

"Miss Park, your boyfriend has been in an accident, we don't know much but he does have a contusion on his head, near the memory area. We want him to sleep tonight and then in the morning we will have everyone come in and we will see what all he remembers." The doctors spoke to me and I nodded, I clutched my stomach close and sat in a chair. I looked through the door at my sleeping boyfriend, something felt wrong with all of this.

The Next Day...

"Min, I'm so sorry..." Was all Jessica could say as I watched Yoona make herself comfortable in bed next to my boyfriend. He doesn't remember me, or our child, and that broke my heart worse.

"If you were sorry Jessica you would make her knock her off." Sungmin snapped and pulled me away from his room.

The Following Day....

"Miss Park, I would like to offer my help in anything you need honey, anything concerning yours and Kyuhyun's child. I know things are rough right now, but what I am about to ask is harder. I would like it if you didn't go around the Super Junior dorm anymore, I realize Sungmin and you go way back but Kyuhyun is in a delicate state. I don't want anyone else getting hurt." The President of SM Entertainment called me today, more apologies and excuses, less action or anything else for that matter.

Two Months Later....

"Congratulations Min you have a beautiful baby girl." The doctor handed me a baby swathed in a pink blanket, I smiled and rubbed my babies cheek, I looked out the door to see all of Super Junior grinning ear to ear as I waved them in.

"Sungmin, come here." I called him over and handed the baby to him.

"Meet your God Daughter Park Misun." I grinned at my best friend and watched as all the boys took turns cooing at the infant. I couldn't help but feel a twinge of sadness that Kyuhyun couldn't be here to hold her.

"You have to be strong Min." Sungmin hugged me.

Four Years Later

"Mommy, do I have to go to school today? Can't I just stay home with you?" Misun asked me as we drove to her school. I rolled my eyes and looked at my daughter through the rearview mirror.

"No, you have to go to school. Otherwise I will be in big trouble with Uncle Minnie." I smiled and thought about how much he flipped when I told him I wanted to home school her.

"That's not fair." She pouted and fiddled with her tie on her uniform.

"Park Misun, I know you are not pouting. You know what happens when you pout." I narrowed my eyes at her, she quickly stopped and smiled at me.

"Sorry Mommy, if I stay out of trouble today will you and Uncle Minnie buy me ice cream after school?" She tilted her head to the side and I smiled and nodded. Everyday she got more and more like her father it was scary. Last night I watched her prank the neighbors dog, it was kind of scary.

"Now rememeber, if I get one call about you gluing someone to their locker or anything of the sort you will be in trouble am I understood?" I turned around in my seat to face my child.

"Yes Mommy." She smiled and hopped out of the car. I watched her run to a little boy and grab his hand, they smiled at each other and ran off.

"Miss Park, my name is Lee Jung, I represent a small group of people who have been looking into wanting a contract at their publishing company." A tall skinny man said at my desk this morning, I gave him a dirty look and sat back in my chair.

"Look here Mister Lee, I like where I work, I have no intention of leaving, I'm sure however you could find someone else more willing out their in the cubicless than myself." I pointed towards my door hoping the guy would get it. He didn't.

"Miss Park, you have no idea how good this will be for you in the long run." Mister Lee pushed and I started to rub my temples.

"Look, I'm not interested. This is the fourth time this week one of  you guys have shown up, if your not careful I'll have to file a report against you." I spoke quietly, this time the guy caught my hint and left.

I sat back in my chair and sipped my cofffee with whipped cream on top, with a small smile I started to look over more articles and drafts that were sitting on my desk this morning.

"Miss Park." My secretatry  rang.

"Yes Eunae."

"There's a Jung Jessica on the phone asking for you." I quickly asked her to patch it over.

"Yes Jessica?" I asked and she giggled.

"Sorry you answered a lot faster than I thought you would." Jessica replied.

"Listen Unnie, I really don't have a lot of time, I have to pick up Misun here soon." I rolled my eyes at her.

"Okay, okay. Listen I wanted to talk to you about you know who. He's starting to remember things, things that involve you. Just little things though, I'm sure Yoona's picked up on it though." Jessica explained and I stared wide eyed at the wall.

"You're kidding right Unnie? There's no way he's starting to remember, they assumed the damage was permanent." I argued.

"No, they were giving him some pills that none of us knew anything about, but Sungmin replaced them with sugar pills and since then he's been doing things he would have done with you. By chance, do you put whipped cream in your coffee? And also do you happen to eat strawberries with sugar to dip them in..he started doing those things recently and when Sungmin asked him why he was doing it he replied haven't I always? It was weird Min, but its also a good thing too." I heard Jessica smile in the background.

"I guess so and yes I do all of those, Kyu used to hate it, said I would give myself diabetes if I didn't stop." I laughed into the phone, it was the first good news about him I had heard in four years. It used to be little things like buying my favorite movies, but when Yoona noticed she got him on some medication and it went away faster than it came, she was smart I'll give her credit for it.

"What about Yoona?" I asked softly, I heard Jessica sigh.

"I've been gettin on her case about it, saying that what she's doing is wrong, but she doesn't listen. How's Misun doing? I haven't seen her in a while." Jessica asked and I smiled.

"She's so much like Kyuhyun it's scary." I laughed.

"Well I gave to go and finish this stupid vocal thing for our comeback, you have my number, let's set up a day where you and Misun come over and see me and the girls, without Yoona." Jessica suggested and I agreed, once I was off the phone I decided to call it a day and go get my kid.

"UNCLE MINNIE!" Misun yelled as she ran to her god father. We had just reached the Baskin Robbins by the park near Super Junior's dorm. He picked her up and hugged her, she giggled when he pecked kisses on her cheeks.

"How's my princess today?" Sungmin asked as he carried Misun into the shop, I watched them oogle at all the pretty ice creams and suddenly I felt a hand tug on mine. I looked down to see my daughter smiling at me.

"Why are you smiling?" I knelt down to look her in the eye, she smiled widely and hugged me around my neck.

"Mommy, good things are going to happen right? Because Daddy's starting to remember right?" She asked and I stared at her with wide eyes.

"How did you know that?" I asked her and she shrugged.

"I don't know, I just do. I had a dream about it last night." Misun replied and skipped back to Sungmin. Once everyone, including myself, had picked out an ice cream we headed towards a park bench.

It was a nice warm autumn day and I, thankfully this time, remembered to wear a warm outfit just in case.

I glanced around and noticed all the kids playing on the swings I looked at my daughter who was more concerned with something else that wasn't her ice cream.

"Mommy, why is that man looking at you funny?" She pointed over Sungmin's shoulder and I followed her finger, my eyes widened at the sight.

"Kyuhyun..." I spoked softly.

"What?" Sungmin looked up from his phone and saw my expression, he turned and coughed loudly.

"YAH! Isn't it rude to stare at my neice? I know she's adorable but please refrain from gawking." Sungmin joked with Kyuhyun who continued to stare at us.

"Hello sir. Would you like to join us?" Misun asked and patted the empty seat next to her. Kyuhyun looked at her and then nodded, he looked handsome in his falll outfit.

I couldn't help but stare at him a little but when Misun giggled I glared at her.

"Like father, like daughter." I spoke to her in English, I made her learn so that if she decided she wanted to travel at least she would be half prepared.

"So, Sungmin. Is this that friend you were telling me about? The one I met a long time ago, before my accident?" Kyuhyun asked Sungmin and I just stared at anywhere but him.

"Ah, yes this is. Cho Kyuhyun let me reintroduce you to Park Min, and this is Park Misun, my god daughter and Min's daughter." Sungmin smiled and Misun stood on her chair.

"Park Misun!" I snapped to get her attention but it didn't work.

"Wow Mister Cho, you're really handsome, Mommy was right. You have looks that can make any girl swoon." She smiled and poked Kyuhyun in the cheek, he put his hand on his cheek and backed away slightly.

"I am so sorry, she's never this strange honestly." I scramble to get her off the table.

"It's okay, I was just noticing how much she looks like you Miss Park." He smiled and shook his head. My heart fell a little bit, Miss Park? Really?

"You can call me Min, if you want, I just get called Miss Park far more than I care." I smiled at him and went back to making sure that Misun didn't try anything.

Kyuhyun smiled and nodded, "Ok, Min, what do you do?"

"I am an editor at a publishing company." I smiled and glanced around for a coffee shop, I needed my coffee really bad.

"Uncle Minnie, can we go get Mommy a coffee? She's getting jumpy and then she's gonna be grumpy, I don't want a grumpy Mommy!" Misun started to fake cry and I stared at her with wide eyes.

"YAH!" I snapped at her, " Don't talk about your elders that way!?"

Misun tossed an original smirk my way and I was shocked at how much she looked like Kyuhyun for a second.

"Brat." I grumbled and watched them leave, leaving me with Kyuhyun alone.

"So, Kyuhyun won't your girlfriend be upsest about you being alone with a girl?" I asked and played with my fingers, he sighed heavily.

"I honestly don't know why I'm still with her. At first when I woke up and the guys asked me all kinds of questions about my girlfriend I didn't even know about, at first I thought it was Yoona, but as time went by I realized it couldn't be her, the things I found myself doing wasn't something she ever did or I did. No one will tell me anything, they said I had to find out myself, that things would come back to me." He explained and I smiled, it was good to talk to him again.

"So what kinds of things have you found yourself doing that had nothing to do with either you or Yoona?" I pushed and he shrugged.

"I usually don't drink coffee but when I do I have to have whipped cream in it, I don't like eating a lot of sugar but if I see strawberries, without realizing it I buy them and coat them with sugar to eat. I started walking through this park randomly, I find myself at this bookstore where the owner knows who I am and I have no clue who he is. I started watching movies I would never normally watch. Yesterday I sat on the couch in the dorm and read Pride and Prejudice from front to back and Sungmin wouldn't quit picking on me for hours. I keep doing these things and yet they do nothing to jog my memory." Kyuhyun ran his hand through his hair.

"Maybe, it's showing you things to look out for. So you do find that person." I answered and noticed that Sungmin and Misun were coming back.

"Oh look my demon child is returning, God that child, she pranked the neighbors dog yesterday into eating peanut butter, poor dog couldn't do anything for almost two hours." I sighed and shook my head, Kyuhyun laughed at me.

"She's pretty adorable, Hyung was right. He says she's got her Dad's personality though." Kyuhyun looked down at his hands when he said that, the look of confusion and hurt flashed in his chocolate eyes.

"How about this, you come over for our movie night tonight? We love company, we were planning on watching a new movie tonight, adn Sungmin can't come so if you want you can. Totally up to you though." I smiled and took my coffee from Sungmin.

"I had them put extra whip on it, that way you can make it through the night with Misun." Sungmin winked at me and I frowned at him.

"You're weird Minnie." I said and took the lid off my coffee without realizing it, Kyuhyun coughed loudly.

"What?" I asked and looked at him.

"Nothing, I'll be there tonight. I gotta go, um, I'll just have Sungmin text you." Kyuhyun said and took off.

"What did you guys talk about?" Sungmin smiled at me and I shook my head.

"Jessica Unnie was right, he's starting to remember, he was telling me about all these things he's found himself doing, all the things I do...oh crap my coffee, I totally forgot!" I smacked my forehead.

"So Daddy's coming for movie night?" Misun grinned.

"He says he is, but I don't know." I shtugged.

"Oh, don't worry. We all will make sure he comes over. So don't you worry okay?" Sungmin patted my back.

"This is crazy." I mumbled and drank my coffee. Tonight was going to be interesting.
