Wedding

Description

Siwon and Ryeowook plan their future wedding.

Foreword

"Blue or pink?"

"For what Min?"
"Just pick a colour Wook, would you like blue or pink?"
"Okay, blue!"
"Awh I was hoping that you would say pink.."
"Fine then, I choose pink."
Sungmin smiled and hugged him tightly. "Now I can start planning!" He ran off to Zhoumi's room.
"Planning for what?" Wook called after the boy, but he recieved no answer.

He didn't have long to be confused though, because Siwon came through the door and sat on the sofa next to Wook. He put his arms around the smaller boy and kissed him.
Ryeowook nuzzled into Siwon's chest, resting his head on the smooth musles and pressing a kiss to the soft fabric of the pale blue shirt.
They were sitting comfortably when Sungmin and Zhoumi came out towards them, smiling delightedly.

"Siwon, what's your favourite food?" asked Zhoumi casually.
"Watermelon" replied the boy, with a little smile.
Sungmin sighed. "Don't be ridiculous. What's your favourite meal?"
"Umm pasta? Or is that ridiculous too?"
"Pasta is okay but it's boring. Wook, what's your favourite meal?"
"I don't know. Why are you asking?"
The couple looked up at the smiling boys. Zhoumi immediately sat down next them and grinned as Sungmin sat on the other side.
"We're your wedding planners, silly!"

Siwon frowned a little. "What kind of things are you planning?"
Min rushed to reassure him. "Siwon, don't worry. We're not doing anything permanent, just finding colours and flowers and things. We wouldn't make any official decisions, it's not our wedding."

Zhoumi sighed a little. "I wish it was though.."
Min leaned against his shoulder. "Me too.."

Seeing the sadness in the boys' eyes, Wook put a hand on their shoulders and smiled brightly at them. "Well, you're very welcome to help with ours. Can you show us your plans so far?"
Sungmin smiled gratefully and left to collect the notebook.

As he returned, they then started talking and looking over colour schemes and invitations.
Siwon cleared his throat. "I want a small wedding, just close family and friends."
Ryeowook frowned at the idea. "Can't we invite everyone? I want to have a big party!"
"If we invite everyone, then there won't be enough room in the church."

Wook took a deep breath. "I don't want to get married in a church Siwon."
The older boy looked as though he had been slapped in the face. His mouth opened and closed in disbelief. "You don't?!"
"No. I'm sorry, but it would be nice to have it at the beach. With the waves and the sunset, wouldn't that be beautiful?"
"No. I've always wanted a church, you know that. You're just being selfish now!" He stormed from the room and left Ryeowook sitting on the living room floor almost in tears. The boy was hunched over, and Zhoumi put a comforting arm around his shoulders. "Wookie, don't cry. I'm sure that you two can work something out."
"I shouldn't have said anything. We should have just had it in the church..."
"That's not fair though. You wouldn't have been happy that way. And a wedding is supposed to bring together two people, not to have only one person happy. We'll work something out."

Meanwhile, Sungmin had found Siwon sitting angrily on the edge of the bed. His fists were clenched and he was breathing deeply to control his tears. Min sat next to him and hugged the shuddering frame.
"I-I want a church, Min.." His voice was small and broken, and he sounded so young and hurt. The smaller boy rubbed his back gently.
"I know Siwon, but you have to think about what Wookie wants too. Please don't cry, everything will be fine." Min hugged the boy tighter. "Are you willing to compromise here? Just a little bit?"
"If we can have the church, then he can pick everything else. I don't care about the decorations or food or anything. He can have everything else, but I really want a church."

Min took a deep breath and looked Siwon in the eye. "Siwon, are you willing to compromise on the venue just a tiny bit?"
"Why? Please Min.. he's being selfish.."
"Don't you think that you're being a bit selfish too Siwon? I mean, it is a wedding for the both of you, not just for you."
The boy looked down at the floor unhappily.
"I guess.."
Suddenly, Siwon felt warm arms wrap around him and soft lips press to his cheek.

"Wookie.."
"Siwon, I'm sorry. You can have the church if you want, I want you to be happy."
Siwon hugged the boy close. "You don't want a church though, you won't be happy if it's in a church will you?"
A pause. "I'll be happy that you're happy."
"That means "no".."

"Why do you want the beach Wookie?" asked Zhoumi in a gentle tone.
"Because it would be lovely to have the sounds of the waves, and we would have such a big place to be together and celebrate."
"Siwon, does it matter which church you get married in?" came Min's soft voice.
"No.. Just a pretty one.."
Zhoumi and Sungmin shared a knowing glance. They left the couple together and went back to Zhoumi's room.

Siwon hugged Wook tighter, pulling him close to his chest and softly rubbing his back in gentle circles. "I'm sorry Wookie, but I really really want a church..."
"I understand. I didn't want to say anything because I knew you would be upset with me.. I'm not saying it just to hurt you, I just want everyone to be able to come.."
"What if we had a really big reception, but a small wedding?"
"I guess that would be okay.. But who would come to the wedding then?"
"Well, us. And our families and the rest of the members. Then it would be cosy and intimate. I don't want our great-uncle's-cousin to be there, just the people we know best."
"Who will we invite for the reception then?"
"Everyone. If you want a big party, then we'll have the biggest party ever."

They sat snuggled together, Wook tucked tightly against Siwon's chest. Comfortable and happy in the agreement, they rested together.
Sungmin came running into the room holding a picture. "Here!"
They leaned in close to look at the picture that Min was holding. It was of a beautiful church, just next to the ocean. Wook smiled and hugged Siwon, looking up at him expectantly.
"It's perfect Min, is it close?"
As the boy nodded, Siwon's face widened in a large smile. He laughed delightedly and kissed Wook, before holding Min in a tight hug.
"Thank you."

The night before the wedding, Wook got out of bed, shuffling carefully to avoid waking Siwon. He went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. Staring deeply at his reflection, he watched the first tear fall. Was this the best thing for them both? Did Siwon really want to marry him? His worst fear came to the surface, and he sat on the edge of the bath to steady his breath.

"Wook" Yesung had seen the light and gone towards the bathroom, opening the door to reveal the crying boy. "What's wrong?"
The smaller boy whimpered, the small sound loud in the room. "Is marriage the best thing for us? What if Siwon decides that it's boring?"
Yesung put his arms around the quivering boy, "Wookie, don't cry. Siwon can't wait to marry you, he won't get bored at all. You'll have a lovely wedding, and a happy marriage."
Nodding thankfully, Wook smiled at the older boy.
He only had one question left.
"Yesung, will you be my best man?"

A week later, and the couple were saying their vows in the tiny church. Leeteuk was in tears, Kangin holding a big box of tissues in front of him.
As Siwon slid the slim ring onto Ryeowook's finger, they looked at each other and blushed.
The vows were perfect and heartfelt, and Siwon's voice had faltered a little whilst reading the words aloud.
Looking at their friends, they had squeezed each other's hands and kissed.

Siwon's lips were soft as he pressed them against Ryeowook's. He kissed him gently, longing to show him the love and happiness that he felt. They stayed together for a moment, before reluctantly breaking apart. They stayed hand in hand as they made their way to the party.

The beach was beautiful, with candle-lit tables and a wide space for dancing. A slow song played as the newlyweds had their first dance. Siwon put his arm warm around Wook, and they danced slowly, swaying to the gentle tone of the music. They kissed again, closing their eyes as they melted together.
"I love you so much."
"I love you too."

The next kiss was perfect, and as they danced the moon appeared from behind the clouds. A symbol of hope, a symbol of new beginnings, Ryeowook knew that it was good luck.
Looking around at all of the people who had gathered together to celebrate their marriage, he couldn't help but feel that he was the luckiest man in the world.
And Siwon, as he watched the way his new husband smiled up at the sky, felt the same way.
