I had to leave after a week. Too soon. My friends were happy to leave South Korea and go back home; I was just extremely sad that I had to leave Kyu. Again.

This time, I made sure with him that he would add me on Skype – I honestly didn’t really care about Twitter – no matter what. If he needed to create a new account, well, he just had to create one and then add me. As long as it would be clear that it was Kyuhyun, I would accept him.

“Kyu, now, don’t forget to add me on Skype okay?”

“Ne, Skypeu.”

“I have to go. I’m sorry. We’ll see each other again right?”

“Ne! You hanguk back?”

“Of course I’ll come back to Korea. And next time, I’ll be able to at least read hangeul, though it doesn’t mean I’ll understand much of it.”

“Ne,” he said, before he added a bunch of things in Korean.

“I… I didn’t understand.”

He sighed and pressed a soft kiss on my lips. It made me smile. “I did understand that though.”

He laughed and kissed me again, this time on my nose. I purred in pleasure and kissed him too. “We’ll really see each other again right?”

“Oh currrrsh!”

“Eh?”

“What… you say…”

“Of course?”

“Ne!”

Wow. I laughed a little and kissed him again. “I suppose you’ll have time to learn a bit of English while I’m gone.”

“Yeongeo… difficult.”

“Korean too. We could help each other via Skype?”

“Ne.”

“Okay then. I’m sorry, I really need to go or I’ll be late for my flight. So, see you, Kyu! Don’t forget to add me on Skype?”

“Ne! Shee you!”

And I left.

I left South Korea, and Kyu. Because I had to. Not because I wanted to. I didn’t want to leave him. I really didn’t want to leave him. Not after two years of not seeing him or talking to him and then, after two years, seeing him again to finally understand that I loved him. Not after hurting him and thinking he hated me for two years. Not after learning he loved me all this time.

But I had to go.

So I left, with my heart full of dreams and promises. The promise that I’d see him again. The dream that I’d be with him forever. The promise that he wouldn’t forget me. The dream that we’d never break up. The promise that we’d end up understanding each other. The dream that he’d learn English while I would learn Korean before we see each other again.

The dream, and promise, of love.

Eternal love.

Love that wasn’t restrained by any barrier. Distance, gender, language. Nothing could make our love, our true love, disappear.

“Jal… erm… will you let me just speak in English?”

“You’re getting good. I’m not really improving in Korean though… I should, or else the company probably won’t let me stay…”

“I’ll make sure they make you stay.”

“And how will you do that?”

“They couldn’t let a wonderful person like me leave them for another company. Same for you, you’re too talented for them to let you go.”

“Yeah right. Anyway, when’s the next show?”

“In two days.”

“We’ll perform together right? As Super Junior? I mean, all of Super Junior. Not just Super Junior M…”

“Sure! And Zhou Mi too.”

“It’ll be a bit weird, after everything that happened…”

“Don’t care about the fans. Come here. Let me hug you. Here you go. You hear my heart? It’s beating just for you. Saranghae.”

“It’s been a while since the last time you said it in Korean.”

“I love you.”

“Saranghae. Yeongwonhi saranghae. Did I get the grammar all right?”

“Grammar was passable, but the pronunciation…”

“Because your English pronunciation is better?”

“Ani, ani, I know that.”
