Midnight Without You
Description
A story of a romance that was and its aftermath. I was thinking of a specific pairing when I wrote this but I'm leaving it open to interpretation.
There's quite a few layers to this story. Some of it takes place in the past, some in the present. Some is told from the guy's perspective, some from the girl's perspective
Foreword
Late at night the city sleeps
Beneath the lights lie empty streets
Broken dreams and shattered hearts
Lost all alone in the endless dark
Ever since that night we first met
I've loved your more than I ever said
And now you're gone what can I do
Its a damn cold night--it's midnight without you
Trying to make sense of it all
Wondering what I did so wrong
Maybe we just were never meant to be
But then why did I fall so completely
A hallway with a million doors
And somehow I walked right through yours
But now it's over and I'm back outside
Praying that you'll come back and change your mind
A lost cause in a million souls
Our perfect love story that was never told
It's the end no matter what else I do
The final page of the story of me and you
It's midnight without you
Ever since that night we first met
I've loved your more than I ever said
And now you're gone what can I do
Its a damn cold night--it's midnight without you
Late at night the city sleeps
I walk alone on these empty streets
Trying hard to make it through
The darkest night--midnight without you
