Heavenly Divided
Description
"We idolized them because we thought of them as divine and beautiful creatures. We followed them instead of the others because we grew to fear them and their power. We failed to see their corruption or their hunger for power. We became mere dolls for them to play with, caught in an unseen war between heaven and hell. Welcome to Limbo."
After the long war between angels and demons, the world finally found peace. The glorious beings sent from the heavens to fight against sin and disasters had won triumphantly. They promised to create a world where there would be no more war, no more hate, no more discrimination. They preached of a society where humans, demons, and angels could live in perfect harmony without fear of one another. They preached of a place where there was no such thing as social status or categories of living. It was a place where everyone was equal. No one person was better off than another. It was an egalitarian society that many had dreamt of for centuries.
The city of Limbo was supposed to be the perfect utopian society.
But it wasn't.
It was far from perfect.
Everything that they had been told about was a complete and utter lie.
The angels that supposedly fought the war for peace and equality had become corrupt. They became hungry for power and dominance. They wished to assert their power over everyone whether they were humans or demons. With their boosted egos, they believed that they were the most superior beings to ever grace the world. They lived a luxurious life without everything handed to them on a gold plate. They forgot all about their promises to create and build a better world where everyone could live peacefully. As long as they remained in power, they could care less if everyone else was suffering.
While the demons remained in hiding in the deepest and darkest depths of Limbo that the humans labeled 'hell', the humans were forced to live under the watchful eyes of the angels living in their makeshift heaven. People suffered from hunger, poverty, crime, and discrimination. They had left their previous lives only to live in a place even worse than hell. There was plenty of hate directed towards the angels that had lied to them and deceived them and towards the demons that made their lives harder.
The illegitimate offsprings of demons and angels were viewed with disdain. Those with mixed blood were outcasted by the others. No one wanted a child with dirty blood. Half human children of demons and angels were sent to live amongst the humans. They didn't belong in places where purebred beings were allowed to live. But they weren't accepted by the humans either. All the hate that had originally been directed towards the angels and demons had turned towards their children.
But even in a crowd of outcasts there will always be another.
Yeon Hee, a girl with no last name, no history, no parents, and only a strange tattoo-like marking on her wrist.
Half angel, half demon.
She was an outcast that even the others didn't want.
She was too different, too strange for others to be around. No one knew where she came from or what mishaps she would bring. They avoided her like the plague. She just didn't belong there or anywhere for that matter.
But there was something special about her.
And angel and demon alike want to get their hands on her no matter what the cost.
Foreword
Hey everyone! Yes ... It's another story. It's something that's been on my mind for awhile and I wanted to post it before I go on vacation and lose and any motivations or feels. This might seem a little familiar to some gamers if you have played DmC: Devil May Cry. It's loosely based off of that game with the whole concept of half angel, half demon. I'm going to try and write this at the same time as The Fallen. I'm not sure when I'll really get to updating a lot since I'll be out of the country in July with very limited internet. Sighhh. Blame Rianne unni who told me I should work on this ;P
