Foreword
“Yixing,” A long, thin shadow draped over the small boy lying flat on his back along the dotted, faded lines, “You should get up soon. You have practice today and I still need to pick up your medication.” Yixing nods, the rough, hot concrete of the road scraping his head and neck slightly.
“Okay.” His voice comes out weak and unwilling, but Yixing slowly pulls himself upwards, bringing his legs up to his chest before looking up.
“Yifan gege.” The taller boy still overshadowing Yixing sighed, holding his large hands out for the boy. With a large breath he pulls the lightweight body upwards, keeping a soft grip on the small hands that slid to fit with his own.
The boy leans forward somewhat abruptly, his forehead nuzzling into Yifan’s chest just under his collarbones. Small mewls escape Yixing’s throat as he buries his face in the elder’s sweater and he sighs.
“Home.” Yixing’s voice is quiet and slow, as if his mouth was having difficulty forming the words he wanted to speak.
“You want to stay home?” Yifan looks down at the boy, confused as to why he wanted to skip his dance practice now. Dance was something Yixing couldn’t live without, despite his disability, and Yifan knew that well enough.
A small nod against his chest made Yifan sigh, removing his hands from the boys to pull away and look down into the younger’s eyes.
“Yixing.” The boy squeaked lightly, staring past the larger man.
“Gege!” His voice spiked loudly for a moment, face scrunching in what seemed like pain as his small palms came up to rub viciously at his temples.
“Yixing, sweetheart. Calm down, we can stay, alright? I do have to get some things, would you like to come with me later?” Yifan slowly and gently pulled the boys hands down, holding them tightly and kissing the boys head as he speaks quietly.
The whines slowly die as the smaller boy nods slowly.
*I use different names for Kris but only two people will call him something other than Yifan. (Joonmyun and Chanyeol will call him Kevin, because they're in his college English class, and respectively, Kevin is his real English name. Everyone else will call him Yifan.)
