Yesung~Ryeowook ver. 2

One-Shot Collection "B"

"Are we there yet?" asked the younger, continuously tugging at Jongwoon's sleeve.

The other man didn't answer but just kept walking, his steps rapidly following the one the other. It wasn't impossible for that venture to be aimless, another expression of the older's weird sense of humour, Ryeowook concluded. Ahead of them, there was only a square, where hordes of children - armed with their never ending energy - and their pitiful parents, were bouncing around.

Cringing at the sight of the bellow-one-metre-tall creatures and the sound of their excited yells, the brunet halted. Abruptly stopping along with him, Jongwoon tilted his head questioningly.

"Don't give me that look," Ryeowook growled through gritted teeth.

True, he resembled a gentle and patient angel. But he wasn't. No. If there was one thing Ryeowook could say with confidence he hated, that would be small kids. Alas, we can't be perfect. That's why he had stopped in the middle of the pavement, his eyes shooting daggers towards the older's direction.

"Can't we go other way?" he sweetly said, his menacing expression not faltering even a little.

"Wookie.."

His boyfriend tried saving the situation. Thankfully, the shorter man let out a long sigh - more like a hiss - and agreed to walk through the sea of monsters. Masking his relief, Jongwoon discretely searched around with his eyes.

He has to be somewhere around here!

Slowly panicking as he could solely see five-year-olds and more five-year-olds, he gave up being mysterious. Turning his head left and right, he finally made out a taller form among the crowd.

"AHA!"

A couple of twin girls chasing each other around their legs jumped up, scared by the black-haired man's shout. Ignoring Ryeowook's questioning look, concerning his odd behaviour, Jongwoon clasped the younger's hand and pulled him forward. A bunch of kids were gathered around a man selling balloons, one of the standard weekend street vendors. The poor guy was sweating, huffing and puffing as he was left alone at the mercy of the tiny devils.

"One at a time, please!"

Jongwoon bit his lip in order to stifle the giggles threatening to erupt at the sight of the blond standing in the middle of the havoc.

"Stay here," he whispered at the younger and went closer to the man on the verge of tears.

Loud complains echoed from the mouths of the impatient children, displeased with having an adult squeezing himself through their lines. Jongwoon's infamous dark glare was enough to silence most of them and he then proceeded with his plan.

The brunet swayed his body to avoid coming in contact with the crying midgets as they were rushing to hide behind their mothers. He knitted his eyebrows, curious about what his boyfriend was talking to the vendor for. Whatever it was, the blond nodded in agreement and handed the last of his colourful balloons to the awaiting kids. Once they were satisfied, they returned to their games, finally giving some breathing space to the man. Smirking mischieviously, Jongwoon walked back to the younger.

"So?"

"A bit more..."

Ryeowook didn't press the matter further. He noticed the vendor wiping his shiny forehead with a white cloth and straightening his thick-rimmed glasses. Tapping his fingers on the older's arm to the rhythm of the only melody his boyfriend could actually hum along while the brunet was playing it on the piano, he was waiting for some kind of revelation.

"Look!" Jongwoon said with enthusiasm and pointed to the vendor.

The man was occupied behind a nearby tree, fighting to untie something.

"What is there to l"

The brunet didn't get to finish his sentence, for something quite unexpected happened. Ryeowook blinked a couple of times, not sure if his vision was playing tricks to him. Because there, roughly three dozens of balloons had suddenly appeared. All sharing the same characteristic: they were purple.

"Oh!"

His eyes widening and lips forming a perfect "O", the young man watched in amazement the dark blue sky filling with those floating objects. His favourite colour had painted in an instant the usual setting of the city, effectively sprinkling the night with a layer of magic. He laughed and threw his arms in the air, not too different from the tens of children who had paused their actions to fix their gleaming eyes on the floating orbs being carried away by the soft breeze.

"Pretty cool, huh?" spoke Jongwoon quietly to his ear.

Ryeowook didn't answer; the fascinated expression on his face was enough evidence. His smile had his round cheeks pushed upwards and the gap between his upper two front teeth was as adorable as ever. His brown locks were swinging every time he'd turn his head to catch a glimpse of every balloon flying free.

His gaze following them till they weren't but tiny dots, far in the horizon, the brunet only then turned to the man at his right.

"Hyung..."

"Not yet, we're not done."

The older hurried to the vendor and returned with one last balloon.

"Here," he smiled and offered it to Ryeowook.

Perplexed with this gesture, the short man took it, immediately feeling a light weight keeping it steadily floating above the ground. Examining the string attached, he saw something small tied in the end of it with a perfectly proportioned bow.

"A ring?"

Ryeowook raised it to his eye level, twisting and turning it to fully examine its silver material. The corners of his lips curled up at the obvious embarrassment of the older man standing before him.

"And this is because..." His voice trailed off as Jongwoon's mumbling was rather entertaining.

"Well, you see... We can move in together to an apartment if you'd like... For many years..." the older struggled with words, his cheeks acquiring a pink hue.

"I mean, you don't have to! But Melo and Kkoming would love living in amore populated home. And there would be two toothbrushes on the bathroom's mirror, and two coffee mugs in the kitchen's cupboard..." he continued, the language leaving his mouth closer to alien by every word he'd say.

The brunet chuckled and placed two fingers on the black-haired man's lips to prevent him from talking more.

"Alright."

Jongwoon didn't respond immediately. He blankly stared at the younger for a few seconds without moving a muscle.

"E-excuse me?"

"Seriously, sometimes you make me wonder why I hang out with you..."

Taking a step closer to him, Ryeowook tip-toed and kissed Jongwoon.

"I said alright. Let's move in together."

"Uhuhh..."

Fully aware of the fact that they were in the middle of a public square, Jongwoon's gaze fell down and he blushed a shade of red darker. His boyfriend gave him his left hand and the ring, urging the older to wear it around his middle finger, where it would be comfortable while playing the piano. Bitting his lip nervously, the taller man took the metallic band and placed it correctly after two tries.

"You know... I have one too..." he murmured while Ryeowook was busy admiring his new present.

"Oh, couple rings. I like that."

Holding his palm out, the shorter make blinked expectantly at the black-haired man, wanting to be the one to wear it around his boyfriend's finger. Jongwoon patted all of his pockets but...

"I-I forgot it at the dorms."

He rubbed the back of his head and let a small laugh, hoping Ryeowook wouldn't mind too much. The brunet's arm fell to his side and he closed his eyes, counting backwards from five. Then he exhaled slowly and flashed a sweet smile.

"I really wonder why..."

Suggesting going back - like, right now - he hooked his arm around the older's and began dragging him along, not waiting to hear an answer. Jongwoon hurried to follow, giving a thumbs-up over his shoulder to the tired vendor. The blond raised his hand in acknowledgment, never stopping fanning himself with one of the hundreds of flyers covering Seoul's streets.

On the way back to Jongwoon's room, Ryeowook couldn't help but ask how he had managed to get that man to agree with the plan.

"Oh, that."

The older chuckled.

"You really didn't recognise him?" he asked, the disbelief obvious on his voice.

Ryeowook shrugged.

"He was Jungsoo."

His jaw dropping gracefully, the younger momentarily let aside the adoring gazes directed to his ring.

"What?"

Jongwoon nodded. Seeing that the brunet had trouble believing that man - with the rich, sandy mustache, glasses and ridiculous clothes - was one of the coolest guys around campus, Jongwoon explained the meticulous execution of everything.

"And so, after buying all those balloons and spending two whole nights inflating them, I promised him that, if he'd endure that, I'd give him Jessica's number."

"Jessica Jung's? He hasn't asked her out yet?"

They both shook their heads in disappointment.

"In the end, everything turned out well," the black-haired man said and held Ryeowook's hand as they were waiting for the pedestrian light to turn green.

"Except from the part I was surrounded by brats..." the younger grumbled and squeezed Jongwoon's hand hard.

The older kept apologising about that, giving his word he would make up for it. Ryeowook only had to ask for it, really, and he would do it. Whatever it was in order to amend for his misdeeds. The brunet rolled his eyes and sighed.

"You're helpless, do you know that?"

Unlocking the tiny dorm, he pulled the other man inside and kicked the door close. He shoved him against the nearest wall and gripped the collar of his jacket.

"You don't have to do anything else."

Ryeowook kissed him again and pressed his smaller body on the older's. His hands released the leather cloth and he wrapped his arms around his boyfriend.

"Thank you," he softly whispered and hugged Jongwoon more tightly, holding him as if he was the most precious thing in the whole world.
