Shattered - Final

Waterloo Rewind

“Even if we like each other, we’re still going to hurt each other” – Flame Princess

Inspired by This Song Saved My Life by Simple Plan

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am Kim Seungho, formerly Choi Seungho.

Eighteen years of age, living in Seoul, South Korea with my grandparents and my father who you probably know as L of Infinite.

Whom I know is the worst father ever.

I am the heir of the Chan Group of Companies, which was supposed to be my mother's.

She died eighteen years ago, just when I was barely two months.

She died saving me.

I later found out that my mother took all the impact from that car accident and died protecting me.

Another one lived to resume my life.

The best father ever, Choi Junhong.

I lived with them for four years.

The Choi's didn't have much, but we were happy all the same.

Dad trained as an idol for us to have a future.

He could've picked any other job, but he fulfilled my mother's dream instead.

Countless nights that he would come home tired.

Countless nights that he would come home either wounded, injured, or sick.

Countless nights that I watch his shows and I see him put a smile on for us and the fans.

Countless nights that I would hear his lullabies through the phone and he would stiffle his cries.

eommaga seomgunure gul ddareo gamyeon
agiga honja nama jibeul bodaga
badaga bulreo juneun jajang norae e
phalbego seureureureu jami deumnida

agineun jameul gonhi jago itjiman
galmaegi ureum sori mami seolre eo
da motchan gulbaguni meorie igo
eommaneun moraetgireul dalryeo omnida

Countless nights that he would visit the cemetery to talk to a person that couldn't talk back, but she hears him.

He fought non-stop for me and my mom.

He fought to the last fibre of his being.

He fought for me against the Social Welfare Department, insisting he could take care of me.

He fought for us when he insisted he could take being a trainee despite his age.

He fought against my stupid "real" father.

It only took seven words to break his heart.

"Dadddy, you can give me to him,.."

It shattered him.

But he can't stay mad, he loves me too much. He loves mum too much.

I fixed the company already, proving my granndparents that greed is not needed to be rich.

I can't change my father though.

My real father stays as stupid as ever.

Junhong, my daddy, he's still my father no matter what happened, what he signed, what came out of the paternity test, no one can be better than him being my father.

Yanna, my mum, she's still my mum no matter what happened, when we crashed, when she left, when she gave me to daddy, no one can replace her being my mother.

Touching the engraved name on the cold marble, my tears falling on the blades of grass.

Chan Adrianna "Yanna"

August 24, 1996- April 17, 2008

Mother, sister, daughter, and lover. You will be missed.

I'm shattered.

I think she's mad at me since the incident that happened when I went with Myungsoo.

I left my dad.

She shattered along with him.

Choi Junhong  "Zelo"

October 15, 1996 - April 17, 2017

Father, brother, son, role-model, musician, and lover. You will be missed.

It's my fault they're gone.

My mother died so I can live.

I was the reason my father lived, so when I was taken away, he died.

Their boodies may be withered but memories stay fresh.

And I am here living, but shattered.

When I broke, the shards came fling and hit my dad straight in the heart, the guilt ate him alive for allowing me to go.

The same guilt eating me alive now.

I think I should be with them as well.

They wouldn't know why my body lies on the grass with a bullet hole in my head.

The gun didn't belong to me but to one man.

The same man who caused all this.

The same man who is the reason why I'm living right now.

He has the right to take my life.

This is the only good thing that he has done, killing me to get all the Chan's riches for himself.

Kim Myungsoo,

thanks for letting me join my parents and letting me get what I deserve.

But you shouldn't get all the riches, you don't deserve them.

At the last minute, I hear the lullaby

eommaga seomgunure gul ddareo gamyeon
agiga honja nama jibeul bodaga
badaga bulreo juneun jajang norae e
phalbego seureureureu jami deumnida

agineun jameul gonhi jago itjiman
galmaegi ureum sori mami seolre eo
da motchan gulbaguni meorie igo
eommaneun moraetgireul dalryeo omnida

The song I first heard from my mother and the last song sang by my father, the monster.

The song that marked I was living, and now, dead.

The song my father sang during the nights when I cried for him and he did the same for me.
I wonder, who will weep for me?

Not the Chan's, they only think of me as an heir.

Definitely not Myungsoo, he killed his own flesh and blood.

The Choi's? They may still be mad.

I'm too weak to weep for myself and my parents.

Will you weep for me?

Goodbye.
