Sequel(?)

Scintilla

For the first time in my whole life, I did not want to go home. It’s as if I wanted our boring History class to be extended to forever.

Yeah, I know. I’m really weird.

Some people, who get to be invited by their crush for an after school Math tutorial, tend to get so excited and eccentric at the thought of being alone with them. But luckily, I am not one of them.

Honestly, I cannot calm down my raging hormones whenever Sehun is within a five meter radius. So how much more will I feel if that five meter turns to five centimeters or… millimeters? I know I’m exaggerating things bit but who cares? Imagine the horror!

Sehun’s as harmless as a rabbit so I don’t have to worry about him but… I’m different! It’s me who has the problem here! I’m afraid I cannot control myself. I might be able to… do something not so nice. I might turn into a ferocious lion ready to eat its prey and that is definitely not a nice picture.

My trance was cut off when the frightful bell rang.

Well .

I hurriedly packed my bags, hoping I could get away from the current situation by joining the sea of people who are all getting out of their rooms. But before I could even execute that plan, Sehun was already waiting not far from my side.

Double .

“Ready?” he asked.

Ready for what? My death?

I breathed deeply. Good luck Kim Jongin.

***

The walk to their house had been really quiet. And awkward to say the least. I did not utter a single word neither was he. And I think that’s better.

As we stepped unto the pavement, he finally broke the piercing silence.

“You’re really shy, aren’t you?”

You could say that. “… not really.”

He chuckled before muttering ‘yeah right’. “I noticed you were kind of spacing out the whole period of History. Is something bothering you?”

So he was observing me? Why? And of course something’s bothering me. Why would I space out if there wasn’t something bothering me, right? Oh wait. Scratch that. Someone’s bothered by me bothering myself. What?

“I’m fine. Don’t worry about me.”

Sehun nodded, considering what I told him.

We managed to arrive safely (without me losing my sanity or something). And when we got to their home, his mom greeted us cheerfully.

“Sehun! So who’s this good-looking guy we have here? Is he your boyfriend?” And boy she was looking so smug.

I choked on something that wasn’t there. Me? Sehun’s boyfriend? Where did that piece of information, or rather rumor, come from?

Sehun, as if being swallowed by a black hole with his mother’s words, defended me… and his self.

“No! We do not have that kind of relationship, mom! We’re just classmates.”

Though what he said was the truth, it somewhat pierced my hopeful heart.

“Oh! I’m sorry. I thought you were my son’s boyfriend.”

I shook my head and said it’s nothing and she does not have to apologize. Oh, I almost itched saying ‘we’ll be. soon’. Thankfully, Sehun dragged me and we went to his room.

As we entered his room, I noticed how neat and organize his room was; unlike mine which is totally the opposite. I put down my bag and got my Math notebook, which is the most essential material we’ll need at this tutorial.

Sehun, on the other hand, prepared the table and laid all the stuff he’ll use. I waited which side he’ll take and when he sat on the left side, I took the seat across.

“So… what topic should I discuss?”

He considered my question for a moment, probably thinking of the answer, then replied, “I don’t get the whole integration thing.” He looked at me, and then chuckled.

I nodded, “Turn to page 679 of our book then.” He did what I told him and looked for the page I told him to look for. “Look at the steps.” I discussed the topic step by step, with the book as a guide. He seemed to absorb all the words I’ve said but when I finished talking and asked him if he can do the example given in the book, he shook his head.

“I… can’t understand.” He bit his lip, looking sorry.

Damn.

He looks so adorable doing that.

I sighed and used the most basic approach I could muster. After rephrasing, retelling, rediscussing, and reiterating everything… Sehun still looked really lost.

“Are you okay?” Judging by his look, I don’t think he is? Maybe hearing a loadful of math terms, which sounds like a name of a lethal disease, make your brain lag in an instant.

“I guess so? Uhm… why don’t we… take a break first?” He said while scratching the back of his head, standing up and heading towards the door. “I’ll be right back.”

“Yeah. Take your time.”

As he left the room, my eyes started to wander around. Looking at his stack of books in a corner (probably a collection of mangas) made me think that he’s fond of books too, other than being attached to his dancing.

I, being the nosy boy, rummaged some of the books. And my assumption was not wrong at all. Those books were actually mangas. A complete collection of Fruits Basket and a couple of volumes of Hana Kimi. What’s going on?

As I picked the 2nd  volume of Fruits Basket, a piece of paper, which is stuck between the mangas, fell from the shelf. I picked it up and noticed that there’s something written on it.

Now this is something.

I bet this will make it tomorrow’s headlines. Okay. Maybe not but this is really SOMETHING.

Sehun is crushing on someone.

And yeah. My brain says I HAVE to find out who that guy is. So I could kill him? Maybe. But my curiosity’s taking over me again and I should REALLY have to find out who this is. So I could kill him? Oh shut up Jongin! I am not even making sense.

So going back to this piece of paper, I never knew the owner of it is crushing on someone. I mean, I never thought he’ll have one because… he’s busy with his studies? Wait. Am I even talking about myself here? Anyway, ever since I’ve known (and started to have a little crush on) him, I’ve never seen him away from his stupid and childish best friend.

“You’re such a troublemaker.”

I turned to see Sehun at the doorstep, holding a tray of juice and snacks.

“Huh?”

He shook his head, “It’s finally time to settle things out.”

What? What does he mean? “Huh?” I said dumbly. What else is to say anyway?

He put down the tray and advanced towards me. He has this serious, kind of poker face on his face (but that’s usual) so I could not tell what’s really going on.

But then, I don’t really have to find out what’s going on when he leaned in and kissed my lips. He put his hands on my cheeks, kissing me deeper. I did not know what to do so my brain took over and did the most obvious thing I should do; to kiss him back.

At first he was dominating but as seconds flew by, I immediately changed the situation and tugged him closer to me. Nipping at his lower lip, I slipped my tongue into his mouth, kissing every corner of that precious cavern.

He moaned. I did the same.

Oxygen was suddenly needed so I broke the kiss momentarily. As I moved my head back to see his face clearly, I saw he was blushing.

“I bet you had seen it.”

“Your little love letter?”

He nodded. Ohhhhh. Now I know.

“You have a crush on me?”

He nodded once again, this time lowering his head a little. Maybe he was hiding his cherry tainted cheeks. I raised his head, putting my index finger under his chin. “Tell me, is that the reason why you dragged me here?”

As expected, he nodded his head, confirming my question. “I…”

I smirked. How nice of you Oh Sehun. That’s a nice way of confessing your little crush on someone. Or in that case, this someone turned out to be… none other than your most handsome man on earth, Kim Jongin.

“I told my mom already…” he told me, looking at my eyes.

“So… what did she say?”

“She approved?”

So we’re official. Her mom agreed. Wait. I did not even say we’re officially dating so we’re not really officially together but ugh… what to say exactly?

“Uhm… So I was wondering if you… you… accept my feelings?”

Why would I reject such beautiful person like you? I’ve liked you ever since I laid my eyes on you and… stop blabbering inside your thought theater Kim Jongin! Just ing say yes! “Of course.”

Awkward silence.

“Now that we’re official… I can do that now, right?”

“JONGIN!”

“Kidding. I love you Sehunnie.”

His large eyes widened even more as if the words I just uttered was a foreign language. But his recovery time was quick. He smiled and kissed me on the lips.

So that means, problem solved! Are we even going back to his Math problems now? Nah. I could always teach him those stupid topics sometime. This night is promising. I could never let a good opportunity slip.
