Scintilla

Scintilla

I sat at the far end corner of a room full of girls and boys who were too busy with their businesses; some were doing their unfinished Math homework, some were sleeping, some were texting and some were doing nonsense stuff like me.

You were sitting in front, near the teacher’s table, second row next to the aisle and I was watching you from afar. You were talking something about not going to dance practice this afternoon with your seatmate, who happened to be also your best friend. I can tell it by looking at your gestures and I think I just have a special talent when in comes to things like this. I do not know. Maybe I just pay too much attention when it comes to you?

I continued observing you from my seat, and I realized your jaw line, your small eyes, your pink thin lips and your smile that highlights your pretty face. Could it be possible that God has made a creature so perfect he could blind someone’s eyes? I have to admit, you are so pretty I could die.

The professor was not here yet by the time I started writing this. I’m not really the type of person who talks with living people. Please. Do not think I can see ghosts nor can talk to them. I am not fond of paranormal activities to start with. It’s just that I prefer talking to my small notebook rather than mingling with people who have no interest with studying. It will be just a waste of time.

I looked at you again and you happened to be looking at me too. You smiled and I did not know what to do. So the simplest task my brain could process at the moment was to wave my hand and flash a smile. Not greasy and not too forced. After that, I could not bring myself to look at you again because I am afraid I’ll lose something I tried to keep all these years of being in the same class with you.

And then all of a sudden, my seatmate from my left poked my side and gave me a strawberry-scented, pink paper. I looked at him incredulously, thinking he had gone gay for me but he rolled his eyes and pointed a little scribble written on the lower left side of the folded paper indicating it was not from him and to point out that my assumption was wrong. I unfolded it and the next thing I knew, my brain experienced short-circuiting again. And to keep things worse, the sender approached me and asked if I could teach him about our lesson in Math after class. I didn’t know my mouth was hanging until he asked me if I was okay. I instantly broke my trance and nodded. He grinned and told me he will meet me after school and we could go to his house together to start the tutorial.

I was not sure if I was giving off an odd aura judging by your funny reaction but I can feel my heart was beating faster than usual and my brain was malfunctioning.

Sehun. After school. Together.

I can see my life is at its brink.

Send help.
