Han Kyu Ri

 

It was 4:20. Suho Oppa told me to be here at 4. It's been twenty minutes.

I tried calling him but he didn't answer.

Should I wait?

Don't be impatient, Kyu Ri. Something must've came up.

I just sat on the bench and let my eyes wander around.

Nothing beats the beauty of silence.

I almost had a heart attack when my eyes got covered by someone's hands.

Tao.. Tao always did this to me..

but no.. no.

"Suho Oppa?"

I managed to say.

"Of course, who else?"

He removed his hands from my line of sight and I watched him sit down beside me.

"It's beautiful out here, right?"

He said with a smile.

"Yes, perfect place to unwind and forget."

I said with a chuckle.

"Perfect place to get together.."

I heard him whisper.

"What? What'd you say, Oppa?"

"Perfect place to get together for an ice cream.. Come on!"

He snatched my hand and dragged away.

We ran around and found an ahjussi with an ice cream cart.

"I want a scoop of the Strawberry please and for the miss?"

"Cookies and cream."

"Cookies and cream, it is."

After that, we walked quietly.. concentrating on  the ice cream.

Honestly, this time here really does help.

And even though, He didn't shower me with comforting words.. but he showed me genuine care.

I finished my ice cream and so did he.

"Thank you, Suho oppa! Thank you so much."

"I'm not even done cheering you up yet?"

My eyes widened.

"What?"

He again dragged me.

Where are we going this time?

We went near the lake.

And I was surprised to see a huge Panda there.

WHAT

I flickered my eyes.

AM I DREAMING?

Of course, it wasn't a Panda panda but a mascot.

The Panda started to walk closer to me.

I looked over to Suho.

"What's this?"

"Thank me later."

When I returned to the Panda's reaction..

I realized that the bear was inches away from me..

"Suho Oppa~ What's th~?"

I shifted to the side but he wasn't there..

I was going to run away from this craziness but..

the bear took a hold of me.

 

"I'm not going to let go of you this time..."

"T-tao?"

 

Why did I even bother to ask?

He turned me around and made me face him.

 

"YAH! What are you doing inside a Panda costume? Are you stupid?"

I rolled my eyes in disbelief.

"Just want to prove to you that I'm the cutest panda around.."

He shrugged.

All of this ... just to prove that he's cute? 

"Point taken. I'm going to go now.. have some errands to do."

I excused. Okay. I'm sorry, it's just so awkward right now.

I turned around when..

 

"Stay. please."

I faced him again, only to see that he has removed the panda's head.

I said nothing but my eyes were sure asking a lot of questions and I know that he can hear them.

"I'm sorry."

My eyebrows met.

"Why are you saying s-sorry to me? Yah~ did you do something behind my back?"

I chortled.

"You see... I have this sister."

Uh-oh.. I don't like where this is going.

"Well, we weren't really blood related. But we were best of friends. We were different in so many ways but that just made us more compatible. We've been with each other for a long long time and I.. I started falling for her.."

I froze. I felt the coldness spread through my body.

Is this...

"Trust me, I didn't see it coming. I didn't plan on it too. It just happened and I don't regret any of it. But being the coward I am, I wanted the easy way out. I didn't want to risk our friendship, I didn't want to risk her. And for the first time in my life, I was afraid. Afraid of losing someone like her.. someone so beautiful, someone that shines so bright.. She seemed to love me back but I thought maybe her heart was just that pure and I was just delusional.."

That was it..

I started crying. officially.

"So I called her sister... because maybe in that way, I would be able to resist her. "

I stared at him blankly.

"Didn't work. I just fell for her even more. We got closer and closer... the closer we were, the closer I was from losing my mind. I had every single day but I didn't build up the courage to tell her.. until one day, I woke up. I woke up when she told me she was going out with someone else. I felt hurt, I felt like I was too late, I felt... hopeless. But one little bird told me that I had one last chance to show and tell her how I feel. If in case she still doesn't get it yet and if she wants me to spell it out for her....

My heart raced, I blinked my eyes for about what.. ten times more?

 

"What?"

He stepped forward, cupped my face and wiped all of my tears away.

"I love you, Han Kyu Ri. Wo ai ni. Saranghae."

 

This. must. be. the. happiest. day. of. my. life. ever.

I hit him in the chest.

"Yah~ why didn't you say something before? You almost killed me from pain.. "

I pouted.

"Aish, so cute. You weren't the only one hurting. It was hard for me too.."

Hearing all of these things...

made me see everything differently.

Finally, it all made sense.

"So, what do you say.. Han Kyu Ri? Be my girlfriend. Please. I've waited a long looooooooooooooooong time."

He said with pleading eyes.

"Hmmmm." I pretended to be thinking hard about it.

"So?"

"Hell, I've waited for it too."

A smile suddenly formed on his lips.

"So... that means..."

His eyes grew wider than it was.

I yelped when he carried me and ran around.

"YAH! PUT ME DOWN! PUT ME DOWN.. TAO PUT ME DOWN RIGHT THIS SECOND OR ELSE, YOU'RE GOING TO GET IT~"

I warned. So he did put me down.

"Aren't you supposed to be sad or something?"

I said in a teasing tone.

"What? Why?"

 

 

 

 

 

"You just lost your sister."

Suho's

I  smiled as I watched the two run around.

"Let's go, Noona~"

I said as I grabbed Ji Yoo Noona's hand. We were hiding behind a tree, watching everything from afar.

"YAH! SUHO! What's that look on your face?"

"What look? That's nothing. Let's go~"

 

I turned around and started walking away from the scene.

"I can't believe how stupid I've been!"

 

I heard noona shout.

I just kept on walking.

"Why didn't you tell me? I would've found a way!"

She said as she smacked my shoulder.

"You love her, don't you?"

 

I stayed silent. She knew the answer.

"I'm happy she's happy, Noona. That's all there is to it. And that's all there is to us. We're friends. Nothing more, nothing less."

I kept on walking.

Nonetheless, it did hurt. I knew it from the start.

But I didn't care.

 

Sibling? Friend? It's all the same.

I guess, we can never choose who we fall in love with.
