Achieving an A

Description

To achieve an A, Isabelle Song is forced to marry someone she barely knows. But here's the catch: none of it is real.

Foreword

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we approach the final semester of the school year, the administration would like to provide you with some information about the highly successful LIFE simulation project implemented only a few years ago. More information will be given to your child in the weeks prior to the simulation beginning, as well as at the informative meeting for parents to be held on March 15 at the Lee Building.

In a world where divorce and family issues have become more and more widespread, the board at the K. Popper International High School believes that those issues should increasingly be addressed in school. Through the LIFE simulation, we hope to do just that. The simulation is highly realistic, with complete immersion beginning from the moment your child enters the digital world on April 3. Your child will feel like he/she is interacting with the real world and with other students in that world, but in reality his/her body will be kept in a condition of homeostasis at a specified medical facility while only his/her mind participates in the simulation.

By exposing your children to real world situations and problems, we hope to allow them the ability to make informed decisions later in life, as they will have experienced the process of decision making as well as the repercussions of whatever decision they made. This includes decisions about family, friends, work, and health.

This project will account for the final semester grades for all graduating seniors. It will be graded on a pass or fail basis, with either a P or an F showing up on your child's transcript. However, should students display particular excellence in the simulation, they will be graded on a letter basis proportionate to their performance. Scholarships and other awards are available for students who meet this level of excellence. Please discuss this with your child's guidance counselor if you are interested.

If your student cannot participate in this simulation, please contact your child's guidance counselor immediately to discuss an alternate course to be taken at an affiliated university or sister school.

We look forward to seeing you on March 15.

Sincerely,

The K. Popper International High School at Seoul
