Part 2

Why does he hate me so much? What have I done to him? Is it because I interrupted his speech? Is it because of that? Since that day I’ve not had a real conversation with him. Instead he will throw mocking words my way or insult me under his breath.

Yesterday I was sick had a little nausea, but I still wanted to go to school even though umma told me not to. I wanted to see Jae hyung, I really like it when he is with me and now Yunho hyung he is my favorite after Jae hyung. Of course Key and Taemin are my favorites too, but it’s different because they are my friends, not my hyungdeul.

Okay, I'll tell you again why I feel like Shim Changmin hates me. Yesterday I was sick and I still went to school. When break time came, Key, Taemin and I went straight to the cafeteria and sat with Jae hyung, Yunho hyung and Shim Changmin. The three of them had sat down first and they kept room for us too. 

 

Flashback

"You look so pale, Karam," Jae hyung said when he first saw me. He immediately pressed his palm to my forehead.

"Your body is also rather hot, you’ve got a fever. Why did you come to school today?”

I smiled at Jae hyung, he is always so sweet to me and I’ve always enjoyed his attention.

"Karam is being stubborn, we told him to go home or at least sleep in the infirmary, but he refused both,” Key replied it and made Jae hyung frown unhappily

"I'm okay, hyung," I said stubbornly.

Although truth be told I actually felt a bit dizzy, but I ignored it. I didn’t want to make Jae hyung worry about me. I'm not a little kid and I know what I'm doing.

"I'll get food for you okay? Today I didn’t make lunch,” said Jaejoong hyung while he gently my head.

Then he went to get food for me, Key and Taemin got up with hyung and left me with Yunho hyung and Shim Changmin. Both of them were busy with whatever they were talking about and to be honest I didn’t want to know so I didn’t listen. My head started to throb and I put my head down on my arms and closed my eyes.

About ten minutes later Jae hyung came back with Key and Taemin. He put food in front of me also getting me lots of healthy salad.

 

"Eat. When you’re finished you can have some medicine. But next time don’t come to school if you're sick, Karam-ah. You can't concentrate in class, right?” said Jae hyung

I knew if anyone else lectured me like that no matter their best intentions I would have gotten mad. But it was Jae hyung, instead I let him talk to me and listened quietly.

"What's the matter?" asked Key

I knew my face was pale and took the bottle of water Key handed me with a small smile thanking him for his kindness and took a sip.

"I'm full,” I replied quickly not wanting to use my illness as an excuse

"But you just ate little, Karam. What if I feed you?” Jae hyung asked

His full attention was back on me again and as much as I enjoyed it, I really could not swallow anything else. Truth be told I was worried if I continued to eat I would just end up vomiting, so I shook my head to say no.

"Eat fruit salad then,” Jae hyung encouraged gently

But I really could not stomach anything else so I kept my mouth shut and again shook my head to say no. I could see everyone was looking at me in genuine concern. Everyone except for one person, his eyes were narrowed and looking at me in great contempt.

“Come on Jae hyung, leave him be. If he wants to eat he will, stop treating him like a child. He’s already so spoiled,” said Changmin angrily

I don’t know why but those words felt like a knife stabbing me in the heart. I bowed my head low trying to not let the tears out that were threatening to fall and took a deep steadying breath.

“Changmin,’ Jaejoong started angrily

I knew Jae hyung was going to give Changmin a piece of his mind but right now I was not in the mood to hear Jae hyung scold him nor hear anymore of his cruel remarks. Instead I got up from my seat and bolted out of the cafeteria. I heard Key and Taemin yelling my name behind me in surprise trying to get me to stop but I ignored them I had to leave.

My heart hurts so much.

[Changmin pov]

 

Was I too much yesterday? Was I too cruel? It was just really annoying to see everyone babying him like that. He is really spoiled and I hate it more than anything. But yesterday I was sure I saw tears fall from his eyes as he got up and turned away. Jae hyung was furious, angrily yelling at me for being cruel to his younger cousin. I also had to endure a long lecture from Yunho hyung about my attitude problem.

I guess if I had been given that lecture from Yunho hyung a few days ago I would have ignored it. I knew Karam was spoilt so I would have said he deserved it. But when I saw him cry I realized that maybe I had gone too far this time.

I know why I don’t like Karam, I actually have a list:

He is not polite. Polite people do not interrupt other people’s speeches. His similarity to Jae hyung, well physically at least especially the first time I saw him. Finally he is spoilt. His friends and family all pander to him and I hate the fact he enjoys the attention.

But then when I think about the similarities between Jae hyung and Karam I realize they are just physical because in reality they are not alike at all.

Jae hyung is very good at cooking; Karam only can eat Jae hyung's cuisine. Jae hyung is very intelligent and from what I heard Karam only got into this school because his father is rich. Jae hyung is kind and considerate. He thinks about others and has not got a selfish bone in his body. Whereas Karam loves the attention being on him, it’s always about him. Jae hyung is always concerned about me and my head gently, Karam only makes my head hurt. Jae hyung when he laughs sounds so beautiful and the way he covers his mouth when he does laugh is adorable. Karam opens his entire mouth and laughs. When Jae hyung frowns he knits his eyebrows together cutely and pouts. Whereas Karam puffs out his cheeks like a blow fish. When Jae hyung smiles he looks beautiful and when Karam smiles he looks like an innocent child.

See there are so many differences right?

They are both definitely born with beauty. But Jae hyung endears people to him by his beauty, grace and kindness to others. Karam on the other hand uses his childish nature to get attention. See different, complet
