RelapseHis fingers twirled incessantly, each of his thumbs swirling around each other in a dance as Kyung tried to force his stomach to settle down. Every time he picked up his phone, he panicked and shoved it across the table in frustration. He had been staring at it accusingly for several minutes, dreading what he had to do. If only his phone could make the call himself; his life would be so much easier that way. But Kyung knew he couldn't avoid it. Eventually, he'd have to make that call.
Kyung finally forced himself to pick up his phone and scroll through his contacts. His hand shook at his finger hovered over the familiar name and picture. ',' he moaned inwardly, swiping the screen and pressing the phone to his ear. Each ring was a death sentence and he wondered why he had to suddenly do this now. He almost didn't expect an answer; but at the last possible moment, the phone clicked over and a sleepy greeting graced his ears. He swallowed and mumbled cautiously, "Hyung..."
There was a long pause before he got an answer. At first, Kyung was afraid that he'd hung up. He nervously mumbled, "Jaehyo-hyung, did you-"
"I'm still here," was the irritated reply, and Kyung's heart sunk. He hadn't expected Ahn Jaehyo to be happy about his call - especially one that came at 6 in the morning. But other circumstances Kyung didn't even want to think about made this more complicated. "Well, what do you want?" Jaehyo spat into the receiver, causing Kyung to reflexively cringe.
This wouldn't be fun to explain. "Jaehyo hyung," he began tentatively. "I got somethin’ in the mail the other day, and I-"
"Speak up!" Kyung nearly dropped the phone at the sudden growl. He was perfectly aware that he was mumbling, but he was so nervous that speaking normally seemed impossible.
"Um..I think you need to see it. Will you...meet up with me?" He could almost feel Jaehyo rolling his eyes.
"You can't be serious. Seriously?"
"Seriously…. It's important." The only reply was an angry sigh.
“Are you still living in that dump?” Kyung scoffed into the phone and took a quick glance around his apartment. He definitely didn’t live in luxury, but he wouldn’t go so far as to call his place a dump.
“It’s not a dump, Jaehyo. It’s fine.”
