Days had passed, everything is back to normal except for Taemin who was once again broken hearted. He had already cancelled his plan of confessing to her on New Year's Eve. Lately he was trying to get in touch with Sulli not because he wants to get back with her but he wants to stalk her and know her real motives of spying them.

 

The vacation is now over and they're all back to school and was faced with tons of projects and tons of tests. They're going to have their final exams on every subject a month earlier than the normal Diamond students.

 

Being in the Star level is not actually a good thing since everyone will always be pressured with projects and tests. It's not really a good thing to slack off and be lazy or else you'll super low grades. And if you happen to fail one subject, you'll be kicked out of

the Star level, rich or not. SM High is not only known for its excellent facilities and the Star level but it's known for good education, highly trained teachers, extreme discipline and they also offers an extra subject for business for the soon-to-be-heir/heiress students and a subject  for something you want to specialize in College and multi-language subjects. It will be your choice on what other language you want to take. If you don't have enough money to go into college but you happened to graduate in SM High, it will be a great thing since you'll be easily accepted to a good job you want because SM High is known in the whole country and to other foreign countries.

 

 

 

It was an extra pressure for Jaehee since she was one of the top Star students in the whole school who will be competing with all the representative of every grade in the school in the all-around quiz bee.

 

But honestly speaking, it's not a big burden for Jaehee since she's a super smart student with the IQ of 170 that she remembers everything she reads and learns. She had yet exelled all the final tests she took with perfect scores and it's not really a big surprise for everyone and it won't be a surprise if she will be the top student.

 

It was also an extra pressure to the seniors who's going to graduate soon like Minho who's studying really hard for the upcoming SAT and the entrance exam in Seoul National University. He wants to take Architecture but since he's a heir of his dad's company, he's jusy going to take Business Management. Even if he takes Architecture, he'll end up being the CEO of the CX Conglomerate. He has no escape from it unlike Jaehee and Zelo. It's his job as the first son.

 

 

She's with Yuri, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, Taemin, D.O, Chen, Lay and Suho in the library. They are studying for the upcoming Calculus, English and Chemistry test that consists of 200 items. Three freaking bloody subjects.

 

"My head's going to burst." Yuri groaned as her face fell on her book. Everyone was studying while Jaehee is not and was eating her own food. She also helps Baekhyun and the others in studying.

 

Truth to be told, Yuri is almost as smart as Jaehee but the thing is Jaehee remembers everything she reads and Yuri needs to review and memorize. That's their only difference.

 

"I want Jaehee's brain. Ugh" Chanyeol frowned as he tried memorizing all the formulas for Calculus and Chemistry. "This is torture.

 

"You just have to memorize all the terms and formulas and you'll be fine." Jaehee informed while Chen gave him a look, "You don't know the struggle of memorizing Jaehee because you remember everything you read."

 

"The competition's tomorrow. Have you studied, Jaehee?" Suho asks while she was shocked, "Tomorrow? I thought it's on Monday next week?"

 

"It was moved." D.O added. "Well I just had to read about everything later." She confidently said. "Well be careful. There's a lot of smart senior students that's going to compete, Onew hyung is smart too. And do you know Sunggyu? He's the top student since middle school." Suho reminded but Yuri butted in, "Jaehee has been the top student since we're in pre-school and she even skipped Nursery and 1st Grade since she's  smart so she happened to have Minho as her classmate."

 

"Woah! That's awesome!" Kyungsoo beamed. "Don't flatter me." She joked.

 

She noticed that Baekhyun was silent because he's already knocked off. She smacked his head and he jolted up in shock. "What was that?!"

 

"I smacked you. How are you supposed to memorize all the formulas if you are sleeping?!"

 

"I've already memorized it all."

 

"Don't kid me."

 

He actually memorized it all the first time he reads it. Truthfully, Baekhyun is just as smart as Jaehee.  He remembers everything he reads just like Jaehee but he doesn't show it. He only wants to be seen as a hot guy and he doesn't want everyone to know that he's smart. He used to be a smart and top student in elementary but when he starts to get bullied because he's a nerd, he hid it.

 

But sometimes, he hates being treated as a complete .

 

 

 

It's the time.

 

 

Together, they entered their room. Their fierce teacher was already there and in a few minutes, the exam had started.

The first subject is English and the teacher distributed all the test papers. As soon as Jaehee received the test paper, she wrote her name on the blank provided and she soom started answering the questions.

 

The test consists of translating, literature and defining.

 

It was a piece of cake for Jaehee. She's a fluent English speaker, she had studied in U.S for 1 year and she reads a lot of books, so it's really a piece of cake.

 

They're only given 2 hours to answer all the 200 questions and Jaehee finished it in 30 minutes, she only spent 10-20 seconds for every question and spent 3 minutes on essay writing.

 

She stood up and passed the paper to the teacher who was baffled at how she answered in such a short time. "Have you reviewed your answers?" The British teacher asked in English. "Yes I did."

 

"Do you think your answers are correct?"

 

"I believe so."

 

"I didn't know you can speak well in English?" She curiously asked with a smile.

 

Jaehee chuckled, "Oh, I was born in U.S and stayed there for 2 years and in the last year of middle school, I studied in Britain."

 

"That's great! You know, you should converse with me a lot, I never had a student as my friend because they're scared to talk to me, they probably think I bite. And there's only like 8 people in this whole school that I can properly talk to. You're the 9th."  She claimed and Jaehee could only smile, "Is that so? That's lonely."

 

"I know right?" Ms.Thompson laughed and Jaehee chuckled along.

 

The teacher smiled as she sat on her seat to check her paper. Jaehee turned around only to see that everyone were staring at her. And she talked in English with an American slang. They're shocked. Because one, they're only halfway through the test and second, you don't just talk to Ms.Thompson. You can only talk to her in English with a correct grammar. She's strict but you can learn a lot from her.

 

She gave them a confused face and walked to her seat.

 

Jaehee turned around to ask Yuri who was in the middle of answering the questions, "Why is everyone staring at me?" She whispered.

 

Yuri looked up, "Well you just talked to Ms.Thompson in English. They're surprised that you can speak in English like that"

 

"Is that a big deal? You can also speak well in English like me and you sometimes talk with her."

 

Yuri shrugged and gave her an 'I-don't-give-a-' face. Jaehee scowled at her and turned around. She looked over to Baekhyun who was answering his test paper when she heard someone called her from her other side.

 

"Jaehee! Pssst!" Chen whispered. Jaehee raised her brows and whispered back, "Wae?"

 

"What's the synonym of dangerous?"

 

"Hazardous." She frowned at him.

 

"Thanks!" He beamed.

 

*He probably don't know the spelling* She thought.

 

Chen was about to write the word when he turned again, "What's the spelling?"

 

Jaehee rolled her eyes with a silent chuckle, "H.a.z.a.r.d.o.u.s"

 

"Thanks again."

 

Truth to be told, Chen's pretty stupid in English.

 

She spent one and half of the hour answering Chen's endless questions and staring off the window.

 

 

They took the two other tests and Jaehee answered it like a piece of cake. She answered Calculus and the formulas on Chemistry without using any scratch paper. Math is really an easy thing for her.

 

During the Calculus test, Chen's nose literally bled, he can't take the pressure of answering 200 questions in 2 hours.

 

It was really a funny moment.

 

 

After leaving the room, they went to the cafeteria for the lunch break, "I can literally feel my head burning during the Calculus and Chemistry test." Chanyeol said as they were eating their food.

 

"English is so hard, good thing Jaehee is beside me." Chen said and everybody laughed, "Yeah, he literally asked half of the questions to me. You should have just given me your test paper." She joked.

 

"Oh right. Why didn't I do that?" Chen joked and they all chuckled.

 

"I skipped like 23 questions on Chemistry." Suho said. "It's so hard." Lay added

 

They all nodded.

 

"How about you, Jaehee?" Kyungsoo asked her who was in the middle of feeding Baekhyun with a spoonful of mashed potato.

 

"You shouldn't ask her." Baekhyun said and Jaehee gave him a look.

 

"During Calculus and Chemistry, I didn't even see her touch a scratch paper. She answered it mentally."

 

"Seriously?!" Taemin shrieked. "Yeah, is it a bad thing? I like math and numbers." She blinked her eyes like it's nothing.

 

"Oh don't tell us. You're so deep."

 

 

 

If there's something Jaehee completely at, it's Arts. She's like the girl version of Kris or maybe three times worse.

 

As for the 50% of the test, they were asked to do a freestyle retro art. Jaehee clearly have no ideas about the style of retro so she ended up with painting lines with red, blue and orange. You don't want to imagine what it looks like.

 

When there's art project, she always ask Yura, their maid, to do it for her. Yura is really good in drawing and arts that's why Jaehee asked her parents to provide her to go in a college. Yura really dreamed of being an artist but since her family doesn't have the money to provide her in college, she ended up being a maid for a living.

 

As a test in music, they were asked to pair up and sing in acapella with perfect tune and pitch. Jaehee paired up with Baekhyun which they sang Can't I Love You and they end up with perfect score. If they want an extra credit, they were told to compose a song or play 2 or more instruments.

 

Jaehee played the guitar, piano and violin while Chanyeol, played the guitar, piano and drums which awes everyone in the room.

 

 

 

They were all done with the tests and now is the day of the quiz bee.

 

It consists of the major subjects and what they need there is a general knowledge of all of the subjects.

 

Everyone is gathered in the SM High's large auditorium to witness the annual quiz bee. The contestants consist of Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors from both the Star and Diamond level.

 

Jaehee is one of the three representatives from the Star Junior. The two of the representatives are Seohyun and Changmin.

 

There will be three winners and those three will be competing against the other schools in the whole country.

 

All the contestants were gathered on the stage while the other students supports their representatives with banners. SHINee and EXO literally had the two biggest banner of all with Onew and Jaehee's names on it. The banners were made not for support but to embarrass the two. Key brought a megaphone to scream for their names. It was more embarrassing than the banners and Jaehee anticipates for the moment of going off the stage so she can  stick the megaphone in Key's throat.

 

The competition had started and Jaehee and Onew were doing good. When the question about Chemistry came, Jaehee didn't even try listening to it and instead she looked at her friends who shouted, "What are you doing?!"

 

"Why didn't she even listen to the question about Chemistry?" Kyungsoo asked. "Noona hates that subject with all her heart." Zelo said with a laugh.

 

Jaehee happens to enter the Top 3 with a tie of 88 points with Onew and Sunggyu. They're the Top 3 who will be competing against the other schools but they need to seperate them in 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

 

 The question was about English and it's a big advantage to Jaehee. She answered it and it was correct so she proceeds in Top 2.

 

It's tie breaking question for Onew and Sunggyu. Sunggyu won when he touched the buzzer faster then Onew. Onew is on 3rd place.

 

"WOOOO ONEW!!!" Key yelled on the megaphone.

 

It's finally a question to know who will be going to win the competition, and it was about Math.

 

The question was,  

“True or false? If a function f is not defined at x = a then the limit  lim f(x) as x approches a  never exists.”

 

 

Sunggyu touched the buzzer first and Jaehee sighs, *Crap.*

 

"The answer is true. lim f(x) as x approaches a won’t exist even if function f is undefined at x = a." Sunggyu answered but he got it wrong. It's her turn to answer. If she answers it correctly, she'll be the new champion since Sunggyu has always been the defending champion. And if she got it wrong, they'll be facing another question.

 

She thinks thoroughly, it's a hard question but she thinks she remember something about the question.

 

"False. lim f(x) as x approches a may exist even if function f is undefined at x = a. The concept of limits has to do with the behavior of the function close to x = a and not at x = a.." She blurted out.

 

The MC smiled, "So our new champion from the Star juniors, Choi Jaehee."

 

EXO and SHINee literally jumped off their seats after the MC announced the new champion. Key and Jonghyun yelled over the megaphone endlessly. Baekhyun snatched the megaphone away and yelled, "THAT'S MY GIRL WOOOOOOOOO!"

 

Jaehee could only laugh at his boyfriend and silly friends. After the medal and trophy was given to her, all her friends ran to the stage and carried both her and Onew while screaming. "THAT'S OUR ONEW AND JAEHEE!!!" Chanyeol screamed on the mike after he snatched it away from the MC.

 

They saw how Sunggyu felt out of place and that no one was congratulating him, "Let's all clap for Kim Sunggyu!"

 

 

"You're so cool right there, Jae." Baekhyun smiled as soon as they got off the stage. "I'm always cool." She cockily claimed. "Psh." He mocked with laugh.

 

He suddenly pecked her lips that made her jolt, "That's for being awesome."

 

He pecked her lips once again, "That's for winning the competition."

 

He pecked her lips for the 3rd time, "That's for making me a very proud boyfriend."

 

Baekhyun grinned and Jaehee couldn't help but to giggle, "You're so greasy."

 

"HEY THERE LOVEBIRDS! MOVE YOUR ! CHOI MAMA WILL TREAT US WITH A FEAST!" Jonghyun yelled as they walked to the 2 limosine offered by Jaehee's parents.
