Asher Lamont (17):
South African (she actually is). Shy, quiet, and observant around people she doesn't know. Adorable around her friends. Likes to paint pictures of the sea life. Loves to cook for her family and friends. Her sandy hair is one of her favorite traits. Internally laughs at people who question where she came from. Is quite fond of her freckles!
Alisa Monroe (18):
Black/African American. Proud of being from Brooklyn, New York. Considers pizza to be the best food in the world. Loves to sing and dance. Can find good music (to dance to) in almost every genre. Likes to go to basketball games with Amira. Is laid back unless someone messes with her friends or family; then she turns into a different person. Has a soft spot for Asher.
Vivienne Poe (18):
Black American, but her mother's side is from Egypt. LOVES playing the guitar and piano. Likes being in her grandmother's garden; you can find her there if she gets too stressed. You know she is nervous when she starts playing with her curly hair. Can watch TV all day if bored, but tries not to. Is good at and has an interest in science and medicine. Struggling on whether to go with what her parents want (doctor) or what her heart wants (musician).
Foreword
Lay & Vivienne, or Viv is what he eventually came to call her, were seated in a circle with four other people in the weekly study group. The group had all known each other throughout elementary school. Growing up, in a closer than average community, had its benefits. Some had known each other longer, some were closer than others, but they were all connected in one way or another.
Lay's relationship with Viv started off....strange to say the least. He was smitten from first sight. It was in the 2nd grade. Lay was playing hide & go seek with some boys in his class. Chen was it. Being the ever-so-smart kid he was Lay knew of the perfect hiding place that no one else did.
Or so he thought.
