PROLOGUE: Tradition

Peace is such a fragile thing.

"It is time, Your Majesty," says a hooded figure while on his knee in front of a man seated on the throne.

"Indeed, it is." These are all the words the king says, before another somber silence emerges.

The hooded man stands up and watches his king ponder with his thoughts. It is evident in his eyes that the king is not fond of what is about to unfold. After all, his majesty has lived through this for most of his reign. Hesitantly, he asks, "Sir, may I speak freely?"

The king merely nods.

He heaves a big sigh as he gathers the courage to talk, before finally breaking the silence. "Why do we have to do this?"

Surprise marked the king's features at this servant's question. For once, he wants to tell him everything. He wants to lift the heavy burden on his shoulders by revealing everything to this man. He wants the boy to tell the world the dark truth. But as ruler of his kingdom, he must make risky choices, even at the cost of his own welfare.

Sighing, he only says, "Peace is such a fragile thing."

A/N: There's your prologue people! I won't be updating this for a while because like I said in the foreword, there will be a whole lot of planning, and I don't want to abandon this story, like seriously. I will try my best to write in between my hectic schedule (since I'm in my last year of college so meh).
