“Do you really think it’s alright for us to do this?”

Person A looked briefly taken aback. “But it was Capt’n’s idea in the first place.”

“What, really?” I turned to Person B for confirmation.

His eyes twinkled with more light than the glowing lanterns that surrounded us. “Captain has a sharp eye for details. Good works never go unmissed.”

“That’s right,” Person A agreed. “The Capt’n is rewarding ya.”

Person B reached out and took my hand, squeezing reassuringly. “Let’s take advantage of his rare kindness and have some fun, hmm?”
