Chapter 1

Into Your World

            In a regular house, in the city of Seoul, there was a room, a room that has been vacant for almost half a year. In the room, sitting comfortably on the bed was a boy. The boy sat there glancing over the number of photo albums on the shelves in the abandoned room. A finger effortless dragged through the spines, glossing over the stickers that had labeled the number of books, before stopping at one in particular. The book was different from the others. Most were one specific color, mostly holding professional photos and beautiful scenery, but the book that he grabbed were scattered with cute and childish cartoon characters on a beautifully drawn park, playing with one another or glancing up at the clouds.

            Turning the pages, glancing at the photos of each one, he found himself dreaming of the memories that came from each picture. Of course, half of the pictures there, he could not remember, but he couldn’t help but wish to remember. Small messages were placed, some crude showing the development of the child, but as each page went so did the writing style of the author. He stared at one photo, more so than the other, the message below wrote, “I was reborn as a child who knew nothing”.

~~~
            “Mom, I’m going to walk Han!” A young boy shouted, grabbing the leash for the puppy whilst opening the door. Before the elderly woman could acknowledge the boy’s request, he had closed the door, kneeling on the porch. He glanced at the puppy, who was refreshed with energy, trying to tie the leash. “Stop squirming Han!”
            The boy had continued to fumble at the leash. He was unaccustomed to the leash, trying to remember the trick his father and sister had done to attach it. Impatiently, he quickly tied it in knot and walked off with the puppy.
            The puppy continued to tug on its leash, pulling his master from his casual walk to a small jog. The boy didn’t seem to mind, adjusting to the fast past scenery he has seen when walking to school. Absentmindedly, he seemed to smile at the familiar roads, a lane that led to a school. The school was an average high school, one he would eventually go to years later. The puppy, however, didn’t seem to care of the scenery and continued to tug at his leash. Before he knew it the leash uncoiled from the knot.
            “Han, no!” The boy shouted, trying to catch up to the puppy.
            The puppy ran around the crowd of people, drawing closer to the park, but stopped when it took a quick whiff. Shaking its head, searching for the smell he had caught, he turned to find a vendor on the other side of the street. Barking at the vendor, the puppy rushed across the street in hopes to grab food.
            “Wait Han, no!” The boy continued to shout, ignoring the crowd of people and the screeching and blaring honks.
            “Sehun, stop!” A female voice shouted.
            Before he could continue his chase for the puppy, the boy was wrapped in a pair of warm arms. His head stuffed into the chest of his capture, her hand pushing the boy’s head closer to her chest. The boy wasn’t sure what had happened, but he could feel the tears that swelled in his eyes, falling into his savior's coat.
~~~

            He glanced at the photo of the small puppy in the little boy’s arms. He couldn’t help but show a small smile before he turned the page. With a flip of another page, he continued to glance at page. There, in the picture was Sehun and a girl in the middle of a mirrored room. The couple were in sweats as they smiled at their reflection, mimicking each others movements. Below the photo was the couple, sweaty, but smiled happily on the floor of the studio. His small smile, turned to a wide grin, whispering the words from the picture below, “Even if people turn their backs against you. On hard days, I will wipe away your tears.

~~~
            “Are you ready Sehun?” The girl cried from the camera that stood behind the boy as he glanced at his reflection.
            “Come on, we have to make this perfect!” He shouted.
            The younger boy had grown throughout the years. His previous short stature grown to fit one of a man. He glanced at the female behind him, watching her press the button and signaling for the boy to turn on the music. Running beside the boy, they fit into place, moving to the rhythm and beat to the music as they had choreographed. Minutes had turned to hours, and the couple had finally stopped from their hours of practice as they grinned at one another to see their appearance.
            “You look disgusting!” The teenage boy shouted as he teased the older girl in front of him.
            “You shouldn’t be talking!” The girl retorted, remembering the camera behind her, she took it from its tripod, holding it close to her chest. The girl laid down beside the boy, with a grin on her face as she placed it above them. “A picture to commemorate our last day as normal kids to S.M Trainees!”
            “How are you sure we’ll make it?” The boy mumbled unsurely.
            “If you can be casted on the streets auditions should be a piece of cake!” She retorted with her hand, now in a peace sign close to her cheeks.
            With a grin, the teenage boy wrapped his arms around the girl’s neck. Their faces close together as their grins grew larger.
~~~

            Another change in pages, and a new photo seemed to catch his attention. It was a photo of a familiar group; twelve men stood close together, grins placed on their faces as they were dressed in silver suits ready to go on stage. He glanced at the smile he had worn on the day, the day of their first concert, his debut stage. Another message written below, but this time the smile he had on moments ago turned to a frown. His eyes swollen from the words, tears b to fall, “Believing in you every day from the bottom of my heart.”

            He turned to the last page. One photo missing. The tears that had brimmed to fall, effortlessly fell down his cheeks.

            “Sehun, dinner is-” The elderly woman glanced from outside the open door. Her eyes solemn as flashbacks of a young woman sitting on the bed tucking in photos after photos in her photo albums or watching the television to see a specific group on stage. “I didn’t think you would want to come into this room. It brings so many memories.”

            “I miss her mom.” The male mumbled, glancing down at the last page, the tears finding its spots on the pages of the album.

            The woman cradled the boy, her eyes b of tears as she glanced down at the photos. “I miss her too.” She whispered as she placed her head on the boy’s shoulder.

            “Do you think Mi Young is happy up there?” The male whispered, searching through the ceiling, in hopes of seeing the girl within the photos looking down at him.

            “Your sister will always be watching over you.” The woman retorted, kissing the younger male on his cheek, beginning her stroll to the door. She wiped her tears, trying to place a smile on her face, “Dinner is getting cold.”

            “Yeah, I’ll be right down.” Sehun mumbled, looking down at the last note she had written that was meant for the last, missing photo.

            Wiping the small tear that brimmed to fall, he whispered, “If we just walk together like this, wherever we go, it’ll be heaven.”
