Chapter 6: Debut

The girls sat in their van and started chit-chatting since they were feeling all too nerve-wracked to be able to fall asleep.

“Unnie, what if no one cheers for us?” JiNa asked Eunwon who looked calmer than the rest.

“Well…it doesn’t really matter, the fact that I’m performing on stage in live broadcast is enough for me.” Eunwon replied maturely.

“I guess so.” JiNa mumbled.

“Ladies, remember to sit properly so you don’t crumple your costumes!” YoonJi reminded as she sticked her head out from the driver’s seat.

The girls were doing one final round of practising before a man entered the room with a crew of cameras. “We’re here to do an interview.” IU followed behind as the crew started setting up in the room.

The ladies rose as a form of respect.

“Hana, deul, set..” HyeKyung whispered.

“Annyeonghaseyo ! We are -5 Celsius!” The girls introduced themselves to IU who smiled back at them.

“Let’s get this interview started shall we?” She announced.

-ACTION-

“Annyeonghaseyo viewers, I’m IU and today for the “Behind Story” section, we’ll be interviewing our lovely ladies of “-5 Celsius”!”

“Annyeonghaseyo!  We are “-5 Celsius” !” The girls greeted brightly.

“Alright, please introduce yourselves!” IU asked.

“Annyeonghaseyo, I’m the leader, -5 Celsius’ HyeKyung!”

“Hi, I’m the makdoongie JiNa!”

“I’m the Chill Pill, Bonnie !”

“I’m Eunwon, the Country Rose!”

“And, I’m Nina, the group’s Chic Pabooooo”

“Keke, I’m Aeri, the Vivacious Mermaid!”

“WOOTS!” IU said, “Let’s welcome them!”

“Now, can you girls introduce the album?” IU said, sneaking a peak at the script.

“Well,” Eunwon introduced, “It’s a rather simple album with not a lot of tracks inside, but all of them are very nice and soothing songs. They are rather slow paced and have a distinct style, I hope many people can support the album. Hehe..”

After Eunwon finished speaking, HyeKyung presented a copy of the album to IU who took it graciously.

“Now, I will ask a question and you guys will point to the person who suits it the most. Ok?” IU asked and the girls nodded fervently.

“Firstly, the most hardworking member is…?”

The votes were rather mixed up, but Aeri and JiNa received the most votes.

“Why Aeri?” IU asked Bonnie who voted for her.

“Because, Aeri unnie used to be an olympian, that's why she is more hardworking by nature.” JiNa explained.

“Wow, that’s cool, what about Eunwon who voted forJiNa?”

“JiNa is really hardworking when it comes to dancing, I’ve seen her practise for more than 5 hours straight…” Eunwon replied with a smile.

“Alright, then may I know who changes the most when she is with boys ?”

This time, the members still had mixed votes. They voted for Bonnie and HyeKyung.

“Bonnie unnie is really shy around the people she likes, and HyeKyung unnie is just totally awkward with boys. When HyeKyung unnie is with us, she acts really natural but she gets tensed when boys are around!” JiNa quipped. HyeKyung shoot her head furiously and looked away.

“Don’t worry, I used to be like that too!” IU said “Next, who will most likely not survive living alone?”

For once, all the members voted for the same person: JiNa.

“JiNa is the youngest so it kind of already makes her less independent and more immature. She also can’t cook. There was once she cooked and ended up making a total mess in the kitchen.” Nina said.

“Well, I can tell so. Lastly, please tell us how you are feeling now that you are about to debut.” IU asked.

“Nervous of course. But also we’re kind of excited, because we all trained so hard and we really can’t wait to show what we’ve prepared. I hope everyone can support us, thankyou!” HyeKyung said.

“Alright, we hope you will support -5 Celsius. Bye!” IU finished and the interview was cut off.

Within 10 minutes, the girls were called to be on standby by a staff.

“Here we go..” Bonnie whispered to herself as they walked to the stage.

“I just had a interview with a lovely new group, can you guess who they are?” IU hosted while asking Hyunwoo.

“Hmm…GLAM?” He replied.

“Nonono~”

“-5 Celsius?” He tried again.

“Yep, and let’s see their debut stage!!” The two announced together.

As soon as the girls walked on stage with their pounding hearts, the music started playing. Screams could be heard and they all immediately felt motivated by it. The light sticks and fanboards they were holding were absolutely exhilarating to look at and the girls could not help but to put on a wide grin.

It seemed that the performance ended too quickly to the girls.
 

“That’s it?” Nina asked as the staff helped her remove her headset.

“Yeah, what else more do you expect?” The staff replied. Nina just smiled, “I kinda wanna do it again, I made a whole load of mistakes.”

“Next week then.”
