The Puppeteer
The Puppeteer
Jiyong wasn’t sure if he was becoming a more optimistic person or if Daesung was actually getting better. But ever since he had talked with Seunghyun, he had started to notice little improvements. They were nothing major, but Daesung would sometimes say hello when he walked in the door. He would break into a hint of a smile and dip his head when the stylist said he looked handsome. He even came out to the living room while the rest of them were playing video games – he was reading a book as usual and not talking, but at least it wasn’t in his room.
It was then that Jiyong realized he had it all wrong. He had thought that Daesung was the one pulling Seunghyun’s strings. But it was Seunghyun who was doing all the pulling here – silently, secretly, selectively – he had somehow figured out what was going to make Daesung act normal again. It wasn’t manipulative as Jiyong had thought, but by giving himself, Seunghyun was able to slowly bring Daesung to life. To make him shed the stiff coat of shame, anger, fear he was wearing until he was a real boy again.
