Second Place for the Finding Hope: Angst Writing Competition – Special Challenge.
The challenge was to write a oneshot based on an assigned prompt and incorporate the prompt into the story. I also used the main challenge prompt DJ Okawari – Flower Dance (I didn’t need to use it, but once I heard it I couldn’t UN-hear it!)
Author’s Note: Hi everyone, welcome to my HyoKai contest entry! Personally, angst doesn’t come naturally to me so this is definitely a challenge! I hope you enjoy the read!
Also I'd like to dedicate this story to hyohunnie29, who gave me an insight on Kai-- as I was getting distracted by his *cough* other attributes *cough* every time I tried to do research on him.
Foreword
My life was all blues and greys, sterile and emotionless.
You came and showed me a world full of colour, full of promise and... full of hope.
You are what I lived and breathed.
I believed that if nothing else, you would be with me until the very end.
My life was not perfect, but for you… I could endure anything.
And then you lost what you loved the most.
And I lost everything.
Now what do I do?
