I am a summer child, born in the swelteringly beautiful month of July. 

I love sunshine and the feeling of warm rain droplets on my skin. The cool caress of the wind on a blazing hot day carries me back five, ten years- to the days when I was a four year old dancing in my grandmother's yard. 

And every year, as the school bell chimes the last day, sings the song of summer- I am filled with nostalgia. Because, for me, summer marks a beginning and an end. The end of one year of growing, the beginning of three months of youth. The end of sleepless nights studying, the beginning of late nights filled with joy. 

And with each summer, I am reminded of my waning youth. 

I am already sixteen.

I am currently a high school student. School gets crazy, and I've accepted that I'm not great at math. 
But sometimes I ask, "Shouldn't I be enjoying my school years?"
And I realize that these are the best years of life, 
to comfortably sit at home and worry about nothing.
To be in the safety of my parent's arms, to have them deal with everything.
To bury myself neck deep in my studies since that is my only duty. 
And I see the love in my parent's eyes. I remember their reason for crossing the Pacific. And I know, I can not, will not, let them down. 
Even though the pressure can get to be so much that I feel like I'm suffocating.
Even though the stress may eat away at me, leave me in a mess of tears and tissues.
Even though I may not get the perfect grades I so desire.
I understand, that in the end, everything is for me. I am studying for myself- for me, for my future.

I love writing. I have always been attracted to the way my words flow onto the page, to the way my handwriting curls messily from my pen. 

It is a release for me- a way for me to express all of my emotions. Writing is like a diary that I spill all of my raw, feelings to- a place where I can chronicle my heart breaks and my joys through another character. 

It makes me feel alive. Because I can be a ballerina under the bright spotlight one night, then a princess in a tall castle another. I can be a happy girlfriend one morning then a heartbroken child the next. I can be anything, be anyone. 

Writing relaxes me. It lets me release all the pent up creativity that I hold inside- that I surpress to focus on my schoolwork.

It lets me break free.

That is the philosophy I live by. You don't get anywhere trying to be on everyone's good side.

You will cross some people in life, just by being yourself- so why worry right? 

I like to write, paint, eat my mom's cooking, listen to the piano, sing in the shower, laugh until my eyes water, drink warm tea at any time of any day, and hug my blanket to sleep at night.

Because they were the inspiration that got me through one of the darkest periods of my life. They gave me a reason to work hard because they are living proofs of "hard work pays off." 

Don't tell me these girls didn't work hard for their dream. An average of 5 years spent training? That is already a third of my life.

She is mature, demure, and headstrong in her beliefs. Yes, a crazy health freak and goguma lover but a sincere and honest girl who isn't afraid to defend her opinions.
