The Song

HK: So I'm a hardcore fan of B.A.P. I've loved all the songs they came out with and it's still true. I know a lot of people want their original 'Warrior' sound back and I don't blame them. This so isn't powerful. It doesn't show how fierce these guys are. but it doesn't make it a bad song. I really loved the song because it showed how B.A.P. can do different styles and still be so amazing. I also like how they are trying to show off the vocals a bit more. B.A.P. doesn't follow the normal Kpop song structure. The normal ways it to have lots of singing and a small rap part, sometimes there is more than one, but the singing over powers the rapping, because lets be serious, in some cases (*cough* SNSD *cough*) the artists can't rap no matter how talented they are. But B.A.P. debuted with the opposite formula, they focused more on the rap with vocals thrown here and there. I found that this song was really well balanced, it had relatively equal parts of rapping and singing. Also, I was really excited for Jongup to get more lines this time. He's great.

Overall, I liked the song. It was a different sound than what they usually had and they still did amazing. Yes, I do miss their hardcore natural but this is amazing music none the less.

LJ: Same, always absolutely loved B.A.P. I honestly like the new style they've shown. I feel that it shows that they can do all different styles of music. I like how they've stepped out of the "You have to stand in a oddly lit box with random props and wink and make aegyo faces 24/7" stereotype. They are very different and though they may have gone towards the soft and brokenhearted thing, you gotta remember they're humans. They can't just be like "I AM SO BADASS THAT I WILL MELT YOUR BRAIN" all the time. No one can. They have hearts. The feel the same way everyone else does. The chorus for me was the biggest step that B.A.P. took towards the regular Kpop structure. It was smooth and heartfelt, instead of tough and gruesome. The fact that they show all different sides of the Kpop spectrum is actually pretty cool.

The Music Video

HK: I'm going to start be saying how confused I was with this music video. When I first saw the teaser, I was interested in what was going to happen and I was eager to see why there was green rain, but besides the boys looking beautiful, I was really disappionted in it. If I didn't read online that the rain and water is green because the fan color is green, I would never had been able to know why it was green. Because lets be honest, anyone could say it was green for jealousy, but why are the jealous? Green is also the color for the heart chakra, but still in the video that would not make sense. You could as the green in the color of decay, but still, it doesn't seem right in this video. I just didn't get it...

I was really lost in this video and it didn't really match the lyrics. Then there's this whole shotting scene... (Yongguk loves shotting scene :D) it didn't quite makes sense but then again there could be an argument made for this, but that's not the reason I'm pointing this out, their faces when they are shot is what I want to focus on... Who gets shot and makes those face?! Seriously, have these guys never had an acting leason in their life?! I know they are sad, and it's probably their saddness that's killing them, but could they make a little more of an effort to look like they go shot? If they want to die and look sad their are other ways to make this work. Someone could use poison... or hang themselves... there are more emotional ways to die... Once again... I was lost.

However, My favorite part was Daehyun singing and breaking the light bulb... even though I don't get the point of it in the music video, it was well shot and looked amazing.

LJ: The music video for me?...uh...just...what. That's what I thought watching it. It was very confusing. The rain indeed was random. I didn't even know the fan color was green...Also, where were they? In some old creepy basement with a gazillion plastic dudes hangin' around. Why were they there? Very puzzled with the point of the plasctic people. Why were there hospital props? There is no need for any of it because in case you didn't notice, those plastic dudes aren't alive. Then there was the random flower vase Zelo had. How would the flower be alive (untill he killed it) if the place was abandoned and very creepy? What was the mysterious green liquid that killed the flower?

The shooting part? The only realistic acting was the crying (only a couple of them cried). WHO WAS SHOOTING THEM???? That part though I found was the most emotional( I was all "OMG ZELO DON'T DIE!!!!!!!"). During that part, all I could think of was this:

Yongguk:"OW WHY THE HELL ARE WE EXPLODING?!?!"

Zelo:"Let's pretend to be tough!"

*everyone but them two fails epically*

Zelo:"I can't hold this much longer..."*whimpers then sobs*

Yongguk:"Are you serious?

Yep. Interesting.

The Dance

HK: There wasn't much of a dance in this song. There were moments when the song was choreographed and what I saw I wasn't overly pleased. It was plain simple and most of the time involved reaching out for something and pulling it towards their core. Nothing was bad but it wasn't suited for the music video, I'm sure if I watched a live performance of it I would like it better, but the small clips were mostly useless.

LJ: From what I saw, the dance was just...meh. Nothing but reaching out to grab magical invisible butterflies and slight knee bending. So it was okay I guess.  :P

The English

HK: Once again, I believe this is a song without any English... the artists within the year are really not using English... and honestly I like it. *Thumbs up*

LJ: Actually the only english was at the end when Yongguk said "I can't live without you girl", but it was perfectly fine so it's a 10/10.

The Outfits

HK: Ok so overall, I thought these guys looked hot. Yes, I'm slightly biased but you can't really disagree much. The stylist did a great job on their hair and make-up and in most cases the outfits to. My favorites were Zelo's ad Jonpup's outfits at the beginning of the video when everyone wore black. I really love Jongup's graphic shirt and I think it works really well with the theme of the song and makes things slightly ironic.

However, there were a few things I could not forgive. As much as I love Youngjae, I really hate this gorilla sleeve. Block B did it for 'NalinA' but they had the gorilla dance. There is no gorilla dance and it doesn't go with anything besides being black. It wasn't an attractive outfit. However, I did like his hair.

Later, they change outfits. They are all seen in white. Now I had to play and pause... Play and pause, at many different spots just to get a good look at these otufits. And because the background is white, it's hard to get a very clear shot. Also, they shoot they waste up a lot and thus you can't see the whole outfit. So overall, what I was able to see, I didn't really dislike much. Zelo's outfit though, was a long trench coat. I have mixed feelings for this outfit. He can pull it off because he is so tall. If Jongup tried to wear it, it would have looked really bad, but since Zelo is like 6 foot or something, he pulls it off well. However, even though he can pull it off, it's still a trench coat. It's like an awkwardly lengthed dress and since Zelo is so thin, I am personally not fond of it. But, every waste up shot he is in, this looks really nice.

I think Daehyun is beautiful and the guyliner was really well done, but the white outfit was too out there. He wears a half skirt type thing on the bottom over his pants like a kilt. And though there are other artist who have done this, it doesn't work in this case. Why? Because the whole outfit is white. Nothing only that, he wears this weird white choker and I just didn't think it worked for him. Actually Daehyun might have had two different white outfits now that I went backed and looked at it. Either way, I don't like him covering up his neck with a choker or turtle neck.

Anyways, overall, I loved how the boys looked. But one thing bothers me... Are these guys getting too thin? Youngjae lost a lot of weight since debuting and though he still looks healthy he isn't the only one to lose weight. HImchan lost weight but he still looked good. Daehyun if you look at his face lost a lot of weight. It kind of concerns me when artists lose so much weight when they already look amazing. Anyways just what I noticed...

LJ: I'm just going to go by what you said because I'm not very qualified to judge fashion sense. OTL

The Overview

HK: Now, I really loved this song. I thought it was a great new taste of B.A.P. and showed a different side of them. Yes, it's not their powerful, manly look that made me love them originally, but they still did an amazing job. I really can't complain. However, this isn't my favorite song. I really liked it but it wasn't anything really special that I find myself listening to it everyday 24/7 like 'Warrior' did for me.

However, the music video was a bit of a flop for me. I know that I didn't really look into the meaning of the video. I know I didn't focus on the symbolism that is splashed throughout the whole video, but lets be honest, who really does that unless they want to make a point to someone. No one really goes to a video to notice every single little symbolic detail. I'm sure if I really tried to focus on all of that, I would appraciate the video a lot more. But, B.A.P. and kpop in general has a lot of young fans who aren't able to actually pick out and understand the symbols. So when a video comes out that focuses mainly of that, it's really pointless for the audience. I think a little bit is great, but this was too much. Also, reading the meaning in a music video can be interpreted in many ways by many different people, so the point they wanted to get across many be different for you than for someone else.

LJ: The song for me was nice to listen to and had a soothingly sad melody to it. The difference in character in this song compared to many of B.A.P.'s others was actually a positive for me. I like the song and listen and sing along to it frequently. The music video was the negative for me because of the confusion.

The Verdict

HK: As I had already mentioned, I loved the song. And overall, it's a great song. However, the song was greatly hindered by the music video. I really recommend the song, and I only recommend the video to fans that like it when B.A.P. tries something new or just want to look at it for the eye candy (it's really good eye candy). But the video was a fail.

LJ: I agree with Hello Kelly on this one. Great song, epic fail of a video. If it had to do with the song more, it could have been less crappy for me.
