It's not how it looks...

The Bottle is My Only Friend

“Let’s talk about this Minzy,” CL said as the rest of the girls surrounded her.

“About what,” Minzy shrugged her shoulders as she pretended to be reading a magazine that was soon taken out of her hands so she could look up at her three friends. “Hey I was looking at that…”

“Why did you break up with him,” Bom pouted.

Minzy’s pretending was short lived as she sighed not knowing what to exactly say to them. She was torn on whether telling them or not. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust them, but it was more so if they would believe her. “I don’t wanna talk about it,” she finally made up her mind snatching back the magazine out of CL’s hands to quickly avoid their questioning eyes.

“Hey don’t be like that, we just wanna know why you wanted to end something so dreamy,” Dara spoke as she sighed.

Knowing all too well that they were going to continue this investigation until she snapped, Minzy stood up and headed for the door, “I forgot that I had to go meet up with Taeyang. I’ll see you guys later.” She gave them one last wave as she shut the door, not giving them any room to stop her from leaving.

Minzy took another shot of soju, not being able to wait for him any longer. Pouring another glass, she grinned at her lovely green bottle before giving it a light kiss. It was her true friend that allowed her to escape from all her troubles.

“Sorry I’m late,” Taeyang apologized as he sat across from the now tipsy Minzy. “Wow someone is a little impatient,” he chuckled as he pulled the glass out of her hands and downed the alcohol.

“Hey…” she whined as he placed the empty glass in front of her. “You took too long!”

“You’re right I’m sorry, you know how GD is he needs everything perfect,” he replied as he poured himself a shot.

She cursed the name that Taeyang just spoke and quickly took another shot in hopes to wash him out of her mind.

“Oh…umm, sorry I didn’t mean to mention him,” he said trying to ease things over. “But I must ask, why did you break it off with him?”

“I don’t wanna talk about it,” she bluntly said as she downed another shot trying to numb the pain.

He couldn’t help but chuckle at her knowing how she was, “Why can’t you tell me? You can trust me can’t you?”

She nodded as she gave him a weak smile, “I just don’t wanna talk about it.”

“Well then if you don’t wanna talk about it, let me talk about it then.”

Minzy exhaled deeply as she extended her hand out towards him, “By all means since everyone else wants to tell me their points of views about my love life.”

Taeyang took the bottle out of her hands and made her look him in the eyes. She was definitely drunk and this was the perfect opportunity to get it out of her. As bad as this was of him, this was the only way he could get Minzy to express how she truly felt.

“Oppa let me have that,” Minzy mumbled as she tried to reach for the bottle through her blurred vision.

“After you let me talk,” he answered as he watched her drop her hands onto the table giving in and listening to what he had to say. “Now I don’t understand, why could you two possibly break up?”

She began to slur her previous answer of not wanting to talk about it, but he rose his hand to stop her and continued to talk.

“Everyone knows that you two are perfect for each other. From the looks of it everything looked alright. So why did you have to break it off? I mean, GD is so depressed beyond words and I’m sick of having to always try and comfort him. But that’s beside the point, it was out of the blue to just end things like that Minzy. Weren’t you two happy?”

“We…were…” Minzy sighed as she tried to hold herself up.

“Then why did you have to screw things up and leave him?! Were you too scared of being in a good relationship?”

She shook her head as the memories started to fill her mind.

Taeyang scratched his head becoming frustrated, “I’m tired of being the middle man. I need to know why you broke things off with GD. You never gave him a reason why Minzy. Don’t you think that’s a bit harsh?”

She could only shake her head again as she propped her head onto her arms feeling the alcohol consuming her.

“Then what, tell me Minzy why did you end things,” he asked.

“I’m tired…” she mumbled as she closed her eyes.

He shook her arm, not letting her escape the conversation, “Not until you tell me.”

“Oppa…please I’m tired,” she whined trying to push him away.

“Then why did you break it off with GD?”

She shut her eyes once more trying to hold in the tears that were threatening to escape her eyes, “I can’t. I’m tired.”

He was impressed that for the first time she was putting up a fight even under the influence, “Tell me and I’ll take you back to your apartment to rest.”

“I can’t believe you took his side too,” Minzy mumbled as she buried her face into her arms not wanting to show the tears that were now falling.

Taeyang grew silent as he heard her starting to sob and reached for her hand to take it in his, “No I’m not taking his side. I am just constantly hearing his side, but nothing from you. Trust me Minzy, I want to be on your side.”

She lifted her gaze up to look at him to see if he really meant what he said and was met with his smiling eyes telling her it was okay, “He’s not what I thought he was.”

“What do you mean by that,” he softly spoke not wanting to scare her away from opening up.

“Oppa I’m tired of fighting with him night and day over stupid things. It’s too much. I feel like I can’t be myself when I’m around him,” she began to confess. “I’m the eromaknae, what the hell does he expect from me?! It’s just to put on a show, but he feels otherwise. I can take criticism from YG, but he goes too damn far. Oppa I can’t breathe in this relationship,” she cried as she hit her chest. “He expects me to be perfect but I can’t be. I make mistakes. Is that hard to believe?!”

He gave her a reassuring squeeze to help calm her down as her voice continued to raise, but she moved her hand away.

“I hate him,” Minzy growled as she picked up the bottle and drank right out of it.

“No you don’t. Minzy you're over reacting,” Taeyang said as he tried to reach for the bottle.

“ you, you don’t know the half of it,” she glared as she pushed herself up from the table.

“Minzy sit back down,” he tried to reach for her arm but she moved out of his grasp.

“NO! I’m tired of you all trying to tell me how to live my life. You don’t know what he put me through,” she said through gritted teeth.

“Then tell me so I can be on your side,” Taeyang spoke loudly as he met her gaze.

She took another gulp of soju before shaking her head, “I can’t…I’m tired.”

Turning away from him, she drowned him out with another gulp of soju as she headed out. Minzy didn’t care if he was going to be angry with her. He would be one of the many from YG that didn’t understand. But she didn’t care, she was tired of GD. He messed up one too many times for her to take him back.

Kissing the bottle in her hands, Minzy took another gulp as she took another soju to go. Tonight her one and only true friend would accompany her through her sorrows and pain that she wanted to drown out.
