Longing Hearts

An airplane with its white, blue and red lights passed by in the night sky above Seohyun’s head. The girl pulled her jacket closer to her own body when the winter wind passed by her, trying to ease the cold.

Seohyun loves to take a walk at night for fresh air and it had been not an hour since she gone out to take a walk and the next thing she knew, she was sitting on a bench in the park near the airport, admiring the view of city lights below her.

She took a deep breath of cold fresh air as she closed her eyes feeling her heavy heart. She’s missing him so much. So much that if she wouldn’t be able to see him on the next few minutes, she’ll go insane.

Little did she knew, a tall guy wearing a coat with his hands on its pocket, age ranging from 20 to 25, was standing behind her, admiring not the view of the city lights but the girl herself.

“Seohyun-ah” called the guy’s thick Korean accent.

The girl froze on her spot. She knew that voice. That voice she’s been missing for God knows how long. She stood up and turned around to greet the guy with a smile.

“Kyunhyun Oppa”

“Seohyun-ah…” Kyuhyun was awed with the girl’s beauty once again.

“Oppa, when did you arrived? “

“I just landed a few minutes ago and I knew you’d be here.” Kyuhyun walked to the girl’s direction searching for the younger girl’s eyes and their eyes finally met making Seohyun blush under the guy’s tender smile.

They just stood there, lost in each other’s eyes and for a moment they forgot that it’s winter because of the radiating warm if not for their breath escaping from their nose and parted lips, the coldness making it white and visible.

“Op-“ Seohyun was cut when Kyuhyun hugged her tight. Her eyes as wide as owl’s because of shock.

“Seohyun-ah....... I missed you.” The taller guy whispered sincerely.

“Kyuhyun oppa, I missed you too” the girl managed to say as she wrapped her arms around the guy’s waist.

For the first time in his life, knowing how talkative he is, he loved the silence.

And for the first time in her life, she never regretted that she loved silence especially in moments like this. Moments that both would cherish deep in their hearts…hearts that are –right now- leaping in the sky along with the moon and stars in happiness of being reunited once again.
