"Krystal! Krystal! We're here!" I heard my older sister calling for me; I was sleeping in the car.  I woke up and looked out the window, my older sister Jessica was busy texting her friends back in L.A while my parents were in the back getting our stuff out. I just excitedly ran towards our house. It looked a bit old with the ivy vines crawling around it but I’m pretty sure we could fix that. I step in and noticed the creaking of the floors, this house must be old. My dog, Snowflake was right after me. This house was just as creepy as the ones in books. I’ve always been a fan of horror books since I was little. I completed the whole Goosebumps series back in 5^th grade. Now I’m in high school and I’m still interested. Stephen King books are awesome!

I’ve watched all the Paranormal Activity movies and completed the Grudge movie series too. The genre of horror is just my favorite in general.

I look around and there’s dust everywhere. I wonder when the family before us moved out. It must’ve been a long time ago. My mother and father help with the unpacking as I explore the house. There is still some stuff here; there are toys here and there. The bookshelf is even full. The family before us must’ve left a lot of stuff back here. I’m in the kitchen looking around, I open the cabinets and notice how dirty and dusty they are. I look in the cabinet under the sink and see that there’s something there. I squat down out of curiosity and peek in, I see something and I reach for it. My hand snaps back and I gasp as I hear something playing. There’s music playing. I reach back in a pull out a toy car. My mother walks in, “Oh honey, what are you doing with toys?”

“This isn’t mine, I found it here.”

“We’ll need to throw a bunch of stuff out. Why don’t you help with that?” She handed me a few cardboard boxes.

I pouted, “What? What about Jessica?”

“Oh God, she’s out there in the field doing God knows what.”

I rolled my eyes and continued. I walked around the house picking up toys and books putting them in the cardboard boxes. I even find a family portrait of the family that lived here. The picture is in black and white, this house is definitely old!

I look at it and notice that a part of the photograph is ripped off; it just shows a girl’s body wearing a flower patterned dress. The corner of the photo is ripped so her head is missing. I wonder what she looked like. I just dropped the photos in the box. A few hours later, I’m done and the house is filled with our furniture.

We have dinner and I go into my room afterwards. The walls are a pale pink. It’s not so bad. I flop onto my bed and check my phone.

Then, I hear rustling. What’s that? I get up and look under my bed, my dog’s there playing with a box. “Oh Snowflake! What are you doing?”

I take the box away from him and look at it, more photos. I open it and its all family photos and such. I notice how in every picture, part of it is ripped off. And every time it’s ripped off, it’s the girl with the flower patterned dress. I look through all the pictures and sigh, I never got to know what the girl with the flower patterned dress looked like.

I walk out into the hallways with the box; I pass the door to the basement and get dragged. I feel ice cold hands on my legs; I’m being pulled into the basement. I scream as loud as I could, what is this? What’s going on? More arms and hands reach for me; a hand over my mouth stops me from screaming. I look over and it’s the girl in the flower patterned dress.
