Changmin pushes the door open and he's already expecting that Yoona will nag at him. He just keeps his head down and still shows a little confidence when he entered. 

"Yoona, I'm sorry if I arrived late. I apologize" He bows down in apology

"as usual...Well, I'm not expecting that you will really arrive on time" Yoona is sitting on the center chair of the table and there are files piled up on top of it

"did you wait that long?"

"Don't worry. I came here 5 minutes before you arrived here"

"wow..Until now, you still know how to estimate the....time of my arrival" thought it's awkward for him to mention that, he's still glad that Yoona hasn't forgotten that habit of his.

"what are you still doing there?" Yoona raises her eyebrows

"Right...We need to do work" Changming walks towards and he just remains standing next to her.

"why aren't you sitting?"

"I don't know where I should sit"

"you're really funny...." Yoona laughs

"hey, don't laugh at me" Changmin finally shows her a smile

"just sit next to me" He sits on the empty chair beside her. He's heartbeat is getting faster now that Yoona is physically closer to her. He can't pay attention that much because he's busy watching and observing her gestures and moves that she make and he feels like he's becoming deaf that the voice he can only hear is Yoona's. He can't stop staring at her beautiful and innocent looking face

"Do you understand?" Yoona asked but she still didn't know that Changmin's focus is not on her explanation about the case but to her

"what?" he's finally awakened from day dreaming

"you weren't listening?"

"I am listening...there's something that....boggled in my mind lately"

"well, maybe if you'll read all of this at home, you'll be able to understand" Yoona is compiling the files back inorder.

"6 years have already passed but......you're still beautiful" Changmin voice sounded sweet on Yoona's ears. This is exactly how it sounded every time Changmin complimented her

"is this part of your script again?"

"I know you've found out about the bet but Yoona, I didn't know anything about it" Changmin brought back one issue in the past and tried his best to prove to her that he's not lying

"let's just.....stop talking about this and please, don't mention this again" Yoona's mood suddely changes and her eyes looks like she's being pissed to hear this story again. She doesn't really want to talk about this anymore but Changmin suddenly brought it up again

"but Yoona, you have to hear me first" He holds her wrist

"I've already.....forgotten everything painful that happened before, Max. Don't make me try to feel all of those bad things again" 

"Of course, I don't......."

"Yoona, let's eat. I brought lunch for the 2 of us" Tiffany surprisingly entered the room and cut Changmin's words. When she entered the room, it instantly caught her eyes to see Changmin holding Yoona's wrist

"oh! Miyoung..." Yoona quickly let go from his grip and made a pokerface

"I'll....just return after lunch" Changmin awkwardly leaves the room

"Yoona, what did I just saw?" Tiffany walks towards her and puts the bag with food on top of the table

"that's nothing....we're having...a small fight" Tiffany can really see how uncomfortable Yoona feels right now

"can we talk, Yoona?" both of them sit down on the chair "what did he say to you?"

"he told me that he knows that we found out about the bet"

"and?"

"I told him to stop talking about it. Because of Max, I did something wrong to Minho" Yoona's tears are composing in her eyes

"why? What happened, Yoong?"

"He was kissing me and we almost started to make out but suddenly, I remembered him like I can really see his image in my eyes. I ended up pushing him away and I told him that I'm not yet ready to.....you know"

"Yoona, I may understand your current situation but do you know the reason why you're suddenly acting like that? It's because you're hiding something from Minho"

"Miyoung, don't tell me to let Minho know about what me and Max had before...I can't do that. Another thing that is making things harder, they are long time friends" Yoona starts to cry

"What? They are friends?" Tiffany's ears can't believe of what she just heard. Fate is really giving Yoona a big challenge right now "but Yoona, I think you still have to....Minho needs to know. You have to take the risks"

"the risks? Do you even know what risks are waiting? I don't want Minho to leave me that's why I just can't tell him the truth that Max is the father of my son"

"Yoona, Minho is an understanding person. I'm sure he will......."

"no, Miyoung. Minho is an insecure guy and he always wants things to be set on on the right way that they should be and I don't want that to be the reason for him to go away from me"

"I....I don't understand what you mean"

"Once he found out about all of this, he will voluntarily give all the rights that Max deserves being Yoogeun's father. He would rather do the right thing though it will hurt him a lot so what will happen next, he'll.....he'll leave me and Yoogeun, for good. His insecurity becomes a factor too because it will probably come to his mind that Max is better than him and he will think that I'm better off with Max than him. I really hate that attitude of his. He's degrading his self too much and I can't see him like that"

"oh my gosh...."

"I love Minho, Tiffany and I'm willing to keep the truth as a secret until I die. All I want right now is not to see him get hurt and that he will always stay by my side. It's not only Minho who's going to be hurt, also Yoogeun. I can't stand watching my love ones in pain"

"so that's really the reason why you can't tell him....after saying all those things, I can now imagine what Minho would turn like if ever you'd say the truth. Though I know this isn't really the good thing to do right now, I really don't want to see people getting hurt. And, I think Yoogeun will be the most affected one since he's the kid. This is really harder than I thought" Tiffany begins to feel so frustrated on this situation. 

"knowing that I will see Max everyday, I feel like I'm going to suffocate and I'm being strangled. But still, I'm trying to act that I've forgotten everything that he did to me for Minho's sake" 

"stop crying now..I think you'll feel much better if you're going to start eating" Tiffany wipes the tears in her face

"I've been talking to you lately that I didn't hear my stomach grumbling"

"that's how talkative you are" Tiffany joked to at least cheer Yoona up. They've finished eating lunch and Yoona is so full and gained a huge smile in her face. Thanks to Tiffany because she brought her something that will totally live her up, food. Tiffany lives her at the conference room to continue with work and while going back, she continues to think about what Yoona just said. She really has a point since she knows Minho much better. Yoona's way of thinking right now may not be the right thing but it's for everyone's best and all she can do is to keep shut, that's what she can do to help Yoona.

"Tiffany, where is Yoona? I went inside her office but she's not there" Minho asked Tiffany. He came to pick up Yoona, as usual

"she's at the conference room with Max" Tiffany answered him

"wait...You know his nickname?" he curiosly asked. He's sure that Changmin does not let any other people know his nickname unless they are already really close. Actually, Tiffany knows about that as well and it's already too late for her to realize that

"he....he told me that we can call him Max" Tiffany finds it hard to tell him a realistic lie but she just don't know what she should tell him

"really? That's kind of surprising...well, I'll just see you later" Minho leaves with a question mark embedded on her face. When he left, Tiffany sighed in relief

"Stephanie Hwang, think before you talk" she lightly taps her lips with her fingers repeatedly.

"If you'll read this later at night, you'll easily understand what exactly happened during the signing of contract and what the accused told the victim" Yoona shows to Changmin a folder with thick bounded papers

"I will" he politely said

"I've already thought you few points that could help you with the investigation that you will do next week so you should read those files that I gave you carefully" Yoona talks to him professionally and it amazes Changmin. After what he happened a while ago, it's like she has forgotten all of it immediately and set his mind to focus on work only. While they are re-organinzing the files, someone knocks on the door

"Hey, Yoona...What's up, Max?" Minho enters the room "it looks like you did so much things today. How's the first day with Yoona?"

"she's kind of scary" Changmin joked then he looked at Yoona who seemed to be caught by that joke

"if I'm scary, don't come back here" Yoona chuckles

"it looks like the two of you have gotten closer already" Minho feels happy to know that his long time best friend and girlfriend are getting along that well

"it's not that hard to get closer to him...he's.......a nice guy" Yoona forcefully smiled as she say the word 'nice' and felt kind of disgusted

"that's good. By the way, Max. Is it okay if I'll take Yoona with me now?"

"uhm....yeah...Of course, she's your....girlfriend" he glances at Yoona who never turns her eyes on him, only at Minho

"Minho, you can go first. I'll just catch up"

"okay...see you later, Max" Minho leaves

"Yoona, you can leave now. It's totally okay" 

"I still have something to tell you" Yoona looks at him strangely

"what is it?"

"please, don't tell Minho that we already know each other before and more importantly, don't tell him that you were my ex. I'm sure you already know how Minho will react to that. Yes, it's really obvious that we don't have feelings for each other but my concern here is Minho"

"Yes, Yoona. I won't tell him" He smiles a little at him but Yoona just snubs it.

"I'll go now. We won't meet for almost a week because I have court trials. Just leave the unnecessary things here until you have your official desk" Changmin stands up to accompany her down to the lobby but Yoona quickly moves her hand to get her bag and she still leaves a smile to him before parting her ways from him. He sits back and breathes out heavily

"the way she talks to me about our past, she doesn't seem to care anymore that she can't even let me continue speaking. The painful thing is, she already had someone else in her heart and I can see how much they love each other. While me, I'm nothing to her anymore. I came back here because of her but coming back here is not useless despite the fact that I'm not the guy that she loves anymore. I'm already contented that I finally had the chance to always see her. If only she could listen to my explanations, I could've proved to her that I really loved her with all my heart, until now"   

I made this chapter to emphasize Changmin's feelings and the reason why Yoona can't tell Minho the truth..
