Music Made Me Do It

This is the last day of your vacation in Seoul. You'll be leaving tomorrow morning. When you wake up you realized that you're alone in Minhee's unit. Probably she went outside for some errand. You check what's good to eat but all the food in the fridge have no effect on you. What a gloomy morning!

Since the silence of the room devours your whole being, you decided to check Minhee's vinyl collection. You choose Grimes' Visions, you let it play on the record player and lie down on the couch. The tracks really enlightens your mood and you even nod your head slowly to the euphoric rhythm while your eyes are close. Then suddenly, there's a track that caught you off guard. You love to listen to a song that you can relate even that song hurts the hell out you. As the tracks keep on playing, you're still staring at the ceiling thinking of something or someone rather. There's a part of you wishing to see him again before leaving. There's a part of you wanting to confront him all the things that you thought last night.

You think that fate already helped you once when you met Jiyong in the coffee shop but you didn't grab that chance so your fate will not helping you this time. You think that there's nothing you can do to see him this day so you just accept it. Maybe it's not fated to meet him again. You just closed your eyes and had a deep sigh.

You have no idea that Minhee already came with 2 milk teas. She thought you're sleeping in the couch so she just put the other milk tea in the fridge. She sit on a fluffy bin bag beside the couch while starting to drink her milk tea. As you open your eyes, you were a bit surprised to see Minhee looking at you while drinking her milk tea.

"Oh you're already here noona! Where did you go?" you asked.

"I bought some milk teas for us I don't want to wake you up earlier so I went alone. But how come your sleeping there in the couch? You should continue your sleep in your bed" she answered.

"I'm not sleeping noona, I'm listening to some of your vinyl before I go home. You know, I don't have these things on my asylum" you said and go directly to the fridge and get your milk tea.

"I never knew that you love Grimes too oh, wait." Minhee said while rushing to her room to get something.

"I love her and her Indietechno music noona. I watched her live performances on youtube before. She's weirdly irresistible. Almost all of her fans were under her spell that time. I hope I can watch her live and listen to her sick tracks" you answered her but Minhee is nowhere to be found in the living room.

"Well well well, As you say so your majesty. Your wish is my command." Minhee waved her 2 tickets for a one-night show of Grimes here in Seoul.

You are so amazed by what you are seeing right now.

"Are you serious?" you still can't believe it. You're not really a fan of Grimes but you're excited to see her.

"IKR IKR, It's too good to be true. but I have these for me and my jagi. Since you want to watch her, I prefer to watch Grimes with you than him. I'm sure he can understand." Minhee explained and still waving her tickets but now in your face.

"But noona, I'll be leaving tomorrow." you said in a weary tone.

"Don't ya worry my dear, her show is tonight at Rolling Hall. We can see her on a dark night!" Minhee replied.

"This is gonna be awesome!" you shout and hug Minhee tightly.

Minhee and you prepared your luggage for your departure tomorrow so that you can chill and prepare for Grimes live performance tonight.

Tonight is the night that you've been waiting for.

Minhee put on her party suit, a tattered jeans with a zebra printed top and a pair of spiky high heels. While you prefer to wear black skinny jeans topped with plain red Giordano v-neck cotton tee and a pair of converse. You even put your black beannie onto your messy hair. Your 'comfy before style' principle is on again. Minhee decided not to meddle with your fashion issues tonight because it's your last night in Seoul.

As you enter inside the Rolling Hall, there's a jam packed crowd that's ready to jam with Grimes. You both get so excited to be part of this crowd. There are many models, celebrities, even idols. You observe that the range of Grimes' fans is broad.

You get a chance to be near at the stage where the synths and equipment of Grimes are located, of course it's because of Minhee's wise schemes. The crowd goes wild when Grimes step into the stage and starting to play her music. Oblivion

You are very amazed to see her instantly. Her weird artistic fashion sense plus her doped movements while playing her instruments made you fall under her music's spell even more. You proved what you observed when you watched her performance on youtube was real.

As Grimes empower you and the crowd with her music, you didn't care with the people around you even Minhee. You begin to close your eyes and dance slowly and match your body with the rhythm, the rhythm that's really familiar to you and have you some goose bumps.

All of the people are enjoying the music but you feel that there's someone who grab you away from the euphoric crowd but the music is still resounding in your ears. You thought that it's a part of being there in the enjoying crowd so you ignore that unknown person who grab your arms.

When you open your eyes, you were astound to see where are you standing. You see yourself on a dark hallway towards the fire exit with a man who is facing in front of you. You cannot see his face clearly because of the dim red light but the beat of your heart know and feel who is he. You can feel the warmth of his breathe in your face because of the intimate space between the two of you. You feel nervous that cause you to hardly breathe. Both of you feel the warmth of your breathes but none of you is moving. He's just staring at you and you don't know why you can stare back at him. You want to end your gaze but your eyes are also glued to his. The melody and rhythm of the next song made you both feel your overwhelming longing and confused feelings for each other. "Jiyong-ssi" you whispered his name.

You feel like you're drunk because of the melody and rhythm that you savor earlier. You can't control what you say or do. Jiyong touch your face softly after you uttered his name. Even Jiyong can't control his feelings that's why he grabbed you all the way to the fire exit. The music triggered the both of you to be like this.

"I miss you." Jiyong said to you without any hesitation then caress your lips gently. What you feel is mutual so your lips kissed him back. As your lips respond to his, the kiss become more deeper and you both feel the great longing for each other. Jiyong's hands start to push you to him that made you hug him tightly while still kissing. He cupped your face as he caress your lips and you hug him with your both hands in return. That's the longest kiss you have so far.

After the music ended, you gently push him away from you, like you regained your normal being under some magical spell. You both breathe heavily because of that long kiss. You almost freaked out to the point that you don't know what to do but you act like there's nothing wrong so again, the only thing that you always do is run but you remember that this could be the last chance to close this case with Jiyong.

Jiyong know that you're silently freaking out like what happened at the waiting shed before so he grabbed your arms tightly and didn't let you go but he observe that you stay still and don't have any plans to run away from you again. He loosen his grab from your arms.

You put yourself back together and look at him as he stares at you.

You have to face all your fears thinking that this is the last help your fate could give you. Before you leave tomorrow you decided to confront him all your confusion and feelings to end your romantic agony. After you confess him those things, you're not running away but leaving and starting afresh alone in peace.

"Let's talk."

Btw,

I'm into Grimes lately because of Jiyong's instagram post with her. I saw his tag #dj on that post so I instantly searched for her music assuming that she's a DJ and *poof! I become her fan already. The first time I listened to Oblivion, Genesis and Skin my love for this woman evolved. She totally rocks! :) So she and her music had a special participation in this chapter.
