"I'm sorry hyung, I'm sorry, I swear I didn't mean to! I just-he was being annoying, I never meant for it to hit, I swear! Oh my gosh hyung, I'm so so sorry." Chanyeol was on his knees in front of Junmyeon, who was seated on the edge of Sehun's bed as he pressed an ice bag on the large lump on the youngest's forehead. The leader shook his head. "It really is fine, Chanyeol. Give yourself a break; you've been on your knees for the past hour."

"But hyung-"

"Oh, I'm sure he deserved it." Junmyeon finally said; and the rapper’s eyes widened, not really expecting anything remotely close to that to come out of the endlessly patient leader’s mouth.

"I get it, don't worry, we all kind of want to hurt him in one way or another, considering how much of a pain in the neck he can be. But then, he's still our maknae. It's still our job to take care of him and make sure he doesn't get hurt. No matter how much we want to sometimes." Junmyeon shook his head and patted Chanyeol's shoulder. "Here, if you really want to make it up to him, just keep this ice bag on his head until the swelling lessens." The older handed Chanyeol the ice bag and stepped out of the room for a bit.

Junmyeon headed for the kitchen and poured himself a glass of water. He sighed, running through tomorrow's schedule in his head. They had so much to do and they were going to appear on TV tomorrow. How were they going to manage that when their maknae had a huge lump on his forehead? Chanyeol really got him good, considering the size of the swelling when he first found Sehun sprawled on the couch. It was the size of a golf ball, and it was purple as hell. Could the cordi noonas cover up that much of a mishap?

He wondered why Sehun didn't do anything about it in the first place. Sure, Chanyeol was pretty clumsy and he really didn't have good aim, but if it were Junmyeon, he would at least have ducked or swatted the remote away.

And then, Junmyeon thought about why Sehun had been hit in the first place.

He chuckled quietly to himself as he remembered what he had said to the mournful rapper a bit earlier and realized how truthful that statement was for him.

He originally intended to say that in order to console Chanyeol, but yes, yes, Sehun was indeed a brat at times (okay, most of the time); no matter how adorable or talented he was. About sixty percent of the time someone was shouting or complaining inside the dorms was because Sehun did something again.

He’s been the receiving end of Sehun’s immaturity a lot of the times. Pranks, teasing, not listening to his instructions , having to deal with extra laundry because “Hyung, you’re supposed to take care of me and I’m tired but Kyungsoo hyung won’t wash my socks so could you please do it?”, and who could forget about that time Sehun openly laughed at him onstage in the middle of a performance and he was wearing a wireless mic so it was heard throughout the venue and even the other members were laughing at him?

The remaining forty percent was when Sehun and some other member he’d coaxed into playing along with his evil plans (mostly Chanyeol) had succeeded and things got embarrassing (and funny for those watching, okay Junmyeon laughs too when it’s not him that’s being played with). They made for great stories to tell the sunbaes and his family, but that’s after it stopped being embarrassing or stupid or both; and that usually took months.

“Maybe that kid should have been placed in M instead. Pretty sure Yifan could’ve handled him well.” Junmyeon sighed resignedly,staring at the small particles floating in his water. Seven years of training and a year into his debut, but Junmyeon had never felt as incompetent as he did in that moment.

He wondered if he should step down.
