Its 2418, and creatures that used to lurk in the shadows, no longer have to fear. Vampires are in charge now, not the humans. Although they lived on the same planet, they did not live in the same worlds. They vampires had an empire, and only dwelled in the human world on the search for food and mates. Humans lived in the ruins of the of the old world, living in fear of not making it to the next day, but they were grateful they were still there. Vampires lived in groups, each in their own mansion. Each group was similar in age, and had been friends since creation. We focus on one such a group now, who has finally come of age to choose a mate. The thing is, they can just pick anyone, the have to pick the one. A vampire might scour the world before they find that special bond, and special it is. Its a sort of feeling that consumes them, like an overwhelming desire to be with that person, to make sure they are always happy. And such a bond can only be formed by a vampire towards a human...the problem is, a human does not have to return the affection. Then the quest of the vampire is to make them believe, to make them both one.
