Even if you don't know how it turned out like this I think that it is a really funny story and all i have done whilst reading it was laugh and cry (don't worry, they were tears of happiness XDXD)
But i have to tell you, "Arrive derci" is written as a single word not two, so is basically "Arrivederci"(and this comes from a girl who lives in Italy ^^)
