The Inconvenience
Description
For the girl that was traded off for a son, that day was inconvenient.
For the man that traded off his own flesh and blood, that day was inconvenient.
For that woman that can’t look at the child in the eyes, that day was inconvenient.
For the girl who had her everything destroyed, that day was inconvenient.
That day… All it ever really was is a big inconvenience.
And all that was left for people to wonder is: was it all better left unknown?
Foreward
11 years ago, you got the shock of your life when a boy your age barged into your classroom and screamed your name.
“Lee Sae Rin!”
The class froze in surprise but soon turned around to the back of the class to look at you.
Still panting the young boy followed your classmates’ gazes until his eyes locked with yours. He gave you a mega-watt smile and walked over to stand in front of you.
“I’ve finally found you, Lee Sae Rin.”
You blinked a couple of times in shock as to how such a cute boy knows your name. “M-me?” you pointed at yourself. He nodded.
“Who are you?”
He opened his mouth to respond, but before he could answer your question, there came a couple of footsteps that echoed down the hallway and stopped at your classroom’s door.
The owners of the footsteps swung the door wide open.
“YAH! Park Chanyeol!” A man dressed in a fine Italian suit boomed, completely out of breath from the apparent chase. The class switched their gazes from you and snapped their necks back to the front of the class to the door.
“Abeoji,” the boy dubbed Park Chanyeol grinned victoriously. “I’ve found her. I found your daughter.”
Chanyeol ran to the front of the class and pulled his father in. The man’s face turned stone with an unreadable expression.
Chanyeol continued to pull the man further and further into the classroom until they stopped and stood before you.
“Abeoji, this is Lee Sae Rin.” He gestured his hand towards you. Then he pulled your hand for you to stand. He intertwined his with your’s and pointed to the man with his free one. “Lee Sae Rin, he’s your appa, your real appa!”
You followed his finger and met eyes with the man. Real… appa?
He stared back with a look that would be forever engraved in your mind. That expression would forever haunt you in your nightmares. It was face that hit you with a whirlpool of emotions. One of shock. Surprise. Sadness. Guilt. Hate. Disgust. All the awful and indescribable feelings that were jumbled into one.
“Appa!” a girl’s twinkly voice sliced through the air as she and another woman entered the classroom panting from also chasing the two males.
The older woman’s eyes fell on you and widened in recognition.
The young girl looked up at the woman.
Then at the man.
Then at you.
Something within her clicked.
Blood rushed to her head as hate boiled within her.
Her eyes narrowed and her teeth clenched.
“Park Chanyeol. Do you know what you have just done?” She spat to her younger brother. She stomped over to him and yanked his hand away from yours. Her two hands planted onto his shoulders as she shook him in frustration. “Do you know what you just did?!”

Foreword
Please note that this means that my first priority is finishing Love Game and my second priority is dedicated to Ditch or Hitch: Like You Have a Choice. Since DOH is a collaborative project that Julie and I are not really ready to actively focus on, this story will be an ongoing side-project of mine to keep me occupied.
