The first and last entry

A Bamboo's Wounds

It was raining. Changmin and Yeonhee agreed to meet eachother that afternoon though. Changmin held his umbrella tightly when he saw Yeonhee running towards him. She came. He thought she wouldn't, but she did. Soon after the pour, the sky started to clear up and the rain stopped completely.

"L-l-let's go to the swings.." Changmin stuttered.

"Let's have a swinging contest then."

"Sure." Changmin and Yeonhee dashed to the swings on the playground.

"Want to know the similarity between a bamboo and a heart?" Yeonhee asked Changmin.

"There's no similarity between a bamboo and a heart." Changmin remarked.

"Yes there is!" Yeonhee stopped swinging.

"What is it then?"

"Hollow, empty and spacious," she murmurred.

Entry #6:

Just tell me when you get sick of me.

Just tell me when you want me to leave.

Just tell me because I'll do anything for you.

You know I'm capable of doing anything for you. You know that the best.

<:>

"Who did this to you? Tell me!" Changmin began untangling Yeonhee's messy hair that was covered in some unknown substance. The smell was unbearable.

"Changmin.. Do you hate me as well?" Yeonhee asked softly.

"Of course not! Did someone tell you that they hated you?"

"Not someone."

"Who is this person?" Changmin frowned.

"Everyone."

Entry #7:

You're the worse.

But why am I still drawn to you?

I must've lost my mind.

<:>

"It's getting more harsh each day." Yeonhee silently cried.

"Don't worry! You have me!" Changmin reassured her.

"I don't want to go to school anymore."

"You should just transfer to my school. Pretty girls don't belong in all girls school anyway." Changmin gently patted her head.

"My parents won't ever let me leave a prestigious school"

Entry #8:

You never explained anything fully. Bit by bit.

I was left to put the pieces together.

This puzzle is no fun.

<:>

"I really can't take it anymore.." Yeonhee whispered.

"Why did you call me up here?" Changmin asked obliviously.

"At first I wanted to be saved, but now I just want to hurry up and.. Leave."

<:>

"No stop.. I don't want to remember.." Yeonhee cried.

"Yeonhee what's wrong?" A fellow classmate asked as soon as she saw Yeonhee on the floor.

"Stop!" Yeonhee screamed.

"Oh my goodness. Your hands..! What did you do? What's wrong?"

<:>

Changmin covered Yeonhee like a blanket. Protecting her. His neck snapped. It was alright. At least Yeonhee wasn't broken.

"What happened?" Yeonhee asked several months later.

"Yeonhee you're awake." Her mother cried.

"Where am I? Didn't I die?" Yeonhee looked around. She found herself in a hospital.

"You were in a coma."

"For how long?" she asked.

"Ten months. Your friend Changmin.. He's no longer here."

"Who's Changmin?"

<:>

"I tried so hard to erase you. That guilt will always follow me." Yeonhee whispered.

"What?" her classmate asked.

Entry #9

How does it feel to remember everything now?

<:>

Yeonhee stood up.

"Where are you going?" Her classmate asked.

Yeonhee ran back to her classroom in search for Changmin. There she saw the slim tall figure looking at her.

"Changmin.. Want to know the difference between a bamboo and a heart?" Yeonhee asked.

"There's no difference."

"There is. A heart beats."

Yeonhee saw Changmin smile a litte.

"Entry number ten. I love you and always will." Changmin confessed. Yeonhee no longer saw him again in a blink of an eye.

She saw a bamboo near the window. One leaf was already beginning to rot.

"These wounds won't last forever, so don't worry," she said to the little bamboo and plucked out the brown leaf.
