The Two Sides of the Mirror
Description
Am I wrong to want the things he has?
Is what I'm doing really so wrong?
He's the one who's wrong; he never shares
I'll have all he has before too long
Because whether it's wrong, or if it's right
For what he has, for what I want - I'll fight
Foreword
This is my entry to:
Fable Me This: 2012 [Writing] Contest
This will probably be a one-shot, though if it becomes too long I'll break it up.
Prompts used:
- "No disguise will hide one's true character"
- "Idleness brings want"
I thought that I would actually try one of these for once.
Preview:
Am I wrong to want? Why can’t I have the same things that he has? I’m so much better than him; I’m smarter, I’m better looking and I’m nicer then he will ever be. So why can’t I have the same things he has. Everyone around us worships him. They hang on his every word. He has them all wrapped around his fingers, yet they don't even realise it. It scares me. If he can fool so well the people with whom he has no connection, what could he be doing to me - his best friend?
