Chapter 2

In the office

“I want you to protect my daughter while I was away”

The voice that is filled with power erupted once more as he stood at the front of the window in his very own office while he looked outside. His trusted bodyguard stood by the edge of his working table, still, and neatly.

“You can trust me sir, I will protect Miss Yuri very well” Said Minho.

“And like always, I don’t want her to know that her life is in danger, she’s is so pure and innocent, I don’t want these business to make her lessen and touched her. She thought that I’ve already given up on this dark market business like she’s always begging me to stop because of my safety could be at risk. If only I could build a time machine and do what she has told me before I would have stopped so I don’t have to end up in this situation….. No matter what, I want to protect her until she is out of danger. Can you do this for me Minho? Protect Yuri until I come back”

“Yes sir”

Sung Ki let out a sigh of relieve as it feels like a huge amount of weigh has been lifted off his chest. He couldn’t help but thinking about quitting this dirty business, the business that he has been involved for fifteen years until he get to this stage, the most powerful position that only a few people could ever archived. The power that is in the grip of his hand is like two swords that will be obeyed and respect from so many people. But even that he know well that these swords attract enemies who are spoil for a fight, and it seems to be more, and more. And now maybe is time for him to put them down, and fight his way out from these drug business they called ‘dark market’ Not knowing that any day he could be prosecuted, and yet his daughter’s life is still in danger from them people whose nearly succeed. There was a time when his life was on the edge of the cliff that is about to break apart, but if it wasn’t for Minho he would have never seen his beloved, most precious daughter ever again. 

Yes. Every day is a battle between death and life, but with Minho beside him ‘life’ will always win.

“From now on I want you to be very strict towards Yuri since every move she does will always be in sight from them bastard who’s looked for every small opportunity to get rid of us. And of course I will not let that happen!” Yuri’s father stopped and stood still for a second before he let out a massive sigh, and spoke again “I want to thank you for always indulgent her, and put up with her no matter how horrible she was being to you, like hitting you and having put up with her harsh insults, but now we can’t let her be like that anymore, we can’t let her do whatever she want anymore. You understood?”

The lips that was straighten into straight line quickly curved up, but then quickly went back to normal without no one noticing it “Understood sir”

“Very good!” Immediately you can see the face that us full of anger slowly started to cool down a little before he said, “I know that you will not let me down, Choi Minho”

The evening of that day…

“Miss Yuri where are you going?” The voice echoed throughout the hallway making the two delicate feet of Yuri’s who was walking stopped by surprise. Before turning around Yuri rolled her eyes and turn around with an annoyed facial expression.

The tall body of Minho’s stood still on his spot on the other side of the hall in his black suit that’s match his face that seems like he’s some sort of person who will work in jail keeping an eye on the prisoners. And of course Yuri doesn’t seems to like the way he looked at her or to anyone, she dislike the lifeless face of his, she hate everything about him.

“Wow, I never knew before that I have to tell some sort of ‘butler’ to know when I’m going out” She said with such a hatred and a put down, using her eyes to scan from Minho’s shoes to his face, looking at him like he some sort of slave.

“I’m afraid from now on that is something you MUST do Miss” He response with a straight answer, but yet that still manage to make the girl in front of him even more angry which is really noticeable.

“What do you mean huh!?”

“What I meant to say is that from now on Miss Yuri must inform me every time you are planning to leave this house, I will take you there”

“Just because you’re my daddy’s favourite bodyguard doesn’t mean you can tell me what to do! A person like you…” Yuri once again looked from top to bottom of Minho before she finishes her sentence “Is too LOW to even talk to me. So you can go back to your cave where you come from before you even think about me doing what you want! And if I want to go out I don’t have to tell you because is none of your business so don’t stick your nose in it. SO LEAVE ME ALONE!”

“I’m afraid it is something I have to stick my noes into it” 

“Why you little!” Yuri looked at him furiously, biting the bottom of her lip before she let her harsh tone of voice coming out from “Why the hell should I do what you say!”

“Because that’s the order Sir Kwon who wanted me to look after Miss Yuri while he is away”

“Ha. I rather go out with some psycho than having you with me all the time, its much safer anyway. At the end of the day have killed someone.”

Minho looked at her while standing still like his usual self, but he can feel his body temperature started to boil up.

“Don’t you even think from what you did three years ago that I will just forget about it that easily? I’m just waiting for that day to come, the day when my dad no longer wanted you around because you disappoint him, and when that day comes, I promise you I’ll be the first person who will laugh and pointing at you, and make you suffer even more. I will be the one watching you slowly dying with joy like what you did to Taecyeon but worse. I will do anything for you to be out of my sight forever. I hate you! You hear me? I HATE YOU!”

Even though he might receive a lot of hatred, and threats from Yuri he still manage to stood there still looking at her with his cold look that she hate the most, and yet again he doesn’t seems to give out any expression to show what he really feels, maybe he just doesn’t feel any sympathy or ager or anything after all.   Yuri looked at him in with anger, she doesn’t want to even want to look at him any more since she might ending up hitting him which hurt her more than it hurt him.

Yuri turns her face away from him, and decided that she will walk away and out the door. And that’s when he decided to start moving and step towards her and strike his hand and grab her by the arm quickly. His sudden action making Yuri not be able to response quick enough, she lose her balance. Before she knew it she is in the arm of Minho.

“Ahh!!”

“I apologize, but I’m afraid that I can not let Miss Yuri go out anywhere since it will get dark very soon”

His voice that echoed inside Yuri’s head making her not be able to move and all she can do is just stand still like a statue with her head on his broad chest. The closeness between the two is something that is so sudden to the fact that she couldn’t think or do anything straight, and not be able to response quick enough to the situation, it seems as if for a few seconds there her brain has stopped working and freezes. The smell of a men’s perfume slowly passing by Yuri’s nostril making her heart felt like as if it’s shaking. The scent of Minho’ that she just met making her felt disgusted, how can she let him get this close to her so easily.

“Get off!”

Yuri pushed Minho away from her as hard as possible, but like the usual she is the one who push herself backward.

“Get your dirty hands off of me!”

“My apology Miss Yuri”

“If you do that again, you’re dead!”

A smile immediately curled up on Minho’s lip as soon as he heard what Yuri was saying, making the girl steam in anger while making a fist with her hand.

“What’s with the smile you freak!”

“It’s time for Miss Yuri to go back to your room, I will get your dinner and serve you there”

“I said why did you smile huh?!”

“Please make you way to your room Miss Yuri” He repeats once more but this time there is no laughing matter.

Yuri couldn’t help but squeezes her hand twice as hard due to the fact that Minho just ordered her to do something, how dare he telling her what to do. She took a few steps away from Minho, and looked at him with her cold glare.

“I’m going out”

“I’m afraid that Miss Yuri must follow my order and do such thing that I have asked… So please make your way to your room”

“ Don’t you dare telling me what to do, just because my dad like you the most. I’m going out!”

This time she yelled on the top of her lungs, and as fast as she could she turn around and was about to make a run for it. But then…

“What the!"

Her weightless body was being lifted off the ground in just a blink of an eye as one of the strong, muscly arms wrapped around the girl waist and quickly she found herself being placed it on the shoulder that belongs to Minho. His sudden approach making her not be able to take action fast enough for her to run away again…. She thought that them step that she took will be far enough for her to make a run for it without him catching her. But the plan just didn’t work out so well.

“Ahh!! What the hell are you doing! I thought I’ve told you to get that dirty hands off me! Minho you psycho! PUT ME DOWN NOW!”

“I’m sorry Miss Yuri, but I must do my job” He said with a deep voice of his, while walking toward the stair that will lead to Yuri’s room.

“I don’t care what you’re job is! PUT ME DOWN!” Yuri screamed and shout since she is shocked since out of nowhere he is carrying her, and the fact that he is so close to her making her surprise even more.

“If Miss Yuri want to go out I will take you there tomorrow”

“No way! Ahh!! Put me down!!”

“Please calm down, Miss Yuri. This is very not cute of you”

“You’ve crossed the line here! Have you forget who you are and who I am!”

The girl still trying her best to get out of his grip but he is just too strong. Her face is now red as a tomato with rage inside that is boiling up inside her, but that doesn’t seems to make any effect on Minho.

“I am sure that I have not forget, Miss Yuri. But I have to do what master Sung Ki have requested, and that is for me to look after you at all time”

He said while walking up the stair with Yuri over his shoulder, he doesn’t seems to bothered about the fact that he is carrying someone no matter how much she is moving and trying to get out of his grip.

“Pfft! My dad ordered you to pretend that you’re all big and give you the right to act like you can control my life? Just you wait, when my dad come back from Alabama I’m going to tell him about how you are treating me, I’m sure he will be so disappointing from knowing how his favourite bodyguard been treating his one and only daughter!”

“I believe so too”

“Well then put me down!”

“Don’t worry Miss Yuri I am sure to put you down, as soon as we arrive at your room, which only take a few step further”

“Just you wait, I’m gonna…”

“Run away?” Minho cut her sentence before she could finish before he let out a bit of a smirk that has been seen by Yuri making her feel uneasy “If Miss Yuri run away again then of course I will make sure that you are back at this house again. If Miss Yuri still want to run away again and being stubborn about it I’m will locked you in your room, and tie you foot to your bed. I am not bothered to the fact that Mr Sung Ki might be disappointed, but if I have to I will do all those things with no hesitation”

“T-threating me?” She tried and struck her head high dearly even though she felt a little but scared. “I’m not afraid of you! And you know what, I am going to run away again no matter how much I might failed!”

“Good” Minho smirked but yet it manage to look cold as ever “When that happen I don’t have to think twice about punishing you. My way”

“What do you mean your way!”

He didn’t answer, but instead he uses his eye and slowly scanning her slim body from top to bottom, that makes Yuri turn bright red.

“You..”

“Here is your room Miss Yuri” He said with a blunt tone of voice cutting her sentence or more like an insult. He stopped walking before letting Yuri down slowly from his shoulder. As soon as her two feet touches the ground, she stood still while taken a huge amount of air in her lungs and quickly put her hand up…

The loud bang sound could be heard a few feet away, it was the sound of Yuri’s hand and Minho’s face collide together with a great amount of force.

“This is what a person like YOU deserve!” As she finish her word she swing herself and face her back towards Minho and walked in her room, closing the door as if she want to break it in half.
