woohee was too interested in the condition of her brand-new shocking pink manicure to notice the girl falling head over heels for her halfway across the subway car. 

ayoung clicked her pen twice and scribbled a number on the back of an old ticket stub she'd dug out of her pocket, and took a deep breath before making her way towards the current apple of her eye. her heels clicked along the worn cement and for a second she felt as if she were ready to take on the world. not a single thing could stop her now.

woohee was about to stand up from her seat, but glanced up and spotted ayoung swaying toward her. their eyes met, and ayoung suddenly felt a bit faint.

"hi—" was all that came out before she tripped over her own heel and tumbled in confusion, finding herself splayed across woohee's lap.
