Channie was such a forgetful person. I often thought what would happen to him if I was not there in his life. He was

going to catch a flight today at 9pm and nothing was ready. He was going on an office trip and would be back after

2 days.

“ Did you put the files ? “ he shouted from the washroom.

“ Yes…and “

“ And the documents on the table. Put them in the outer chain. “ He shouted again.

I did as he told. Then I took his suit and his matching shirts and put them in the suitcase. I packed a men’s perfume

for him when he came out of the washroom.

“ No….no….don’t put that…I’ll use it…!! “ He said. He was getting ready.

“ Pack those t-shirts…they are on the bed and the ties. “

“ How many ties should I pack..?? “ I asked him.

“ Pack 5 ties…then I’ll choose and wear…and pack my boxers also. Please…!! “

“ Shut up..can’t you even pack those …pabo..!! “ I said angrily.

“ Ya….what happened….you are my wife, not my girlfriend or someone unknown. Stop feeling shy “  He said as

he was combing his hair. This boy does not do anything himself. I packed his boxers and some handkerchiefs too.

He finished dressing up and then came to me with the tie in his hand.

“ Tie it for me sweetheart…!! Please….!! “

“ What will you do during the trip ? I won’t be there to tie your tie for you. “ I said while making the knot.

“ That’s why I came to you now..!! I’ll miss it…!! “ He said smiling at me. His smile was so mesmerizing.

“ Yes…and I made you kimchi and jajjangmyeon. It’s in the fridge. I hope you can make ramyeon. There is some

omurice also kept. Don’t finish them or you will have to go hungry…!! “ He reminded me.

“ Ok…thanks “ Although he was very forgetful and I had to do everything for him. Food was something he made

the best in the world. I make pathetic food and he does all the cooking for me.

Chanyeol wore his coat and then I straightened the collar. He was looking so handsome. The most handsome guy in

the world.

“ Ya..did you take your shaving kit..?? “ It suddenly struck me.

“ Ohh….I almost forgot. “ He ran to the washroom and took the whole kit out and shoved it in his suitcase. He

looked around one last time to see whether he had left anything or not.

He then went to our baby’s room and hugged her. Jae In seemed to understand that her father was going

somewhere. She held on to Chanyeol’s finger tightly.

“ Appa has to go sweetheart….!! “ He kissed her forehead and placed her lightly on the cradle.

“ Appa will bring many toys for her sweet daughter..till then Jae In has to be a good girl. She will be a good girl

na…?? “ he chuckled. Jae In smiled too. She smiled just like her father.

“ Eat well and take care of her while I am not there…!! I’ll be back soon..ok…!! “ Chanyeol kissed me on the

cheek before closing the door.

As soon as he left, somehow the house felt extremely empty. I was all alone with Jae In in our apartment. I went to

the window and saw him taking a cab. He bid me goodbye one last time. The ambiance was a little creepy and a

ominous outside. The sky was cloudy, there was no moon or any star shining tonight. A cold breeze was blowing

too. Something felt wrong…..

I closed the window and checked over Jae In she had dozed off slightly. I would have to wake her before feeding

her. I sat down to complete my office work. I had loads of assignments to check and loads of files to correct. I

piled them up and started working on them one by one.

Most of them were fine but some were pathetic. I had to refill them and pile them up. It took my around 2 hours to

complete them. I checked the time when I finished checking them It was 9 o’ clock.

I woke Jae In up and made her baby food. Feeding her was a herculean task. She hated having baby food. I put

spoonful of it in forcefully and then patted her back. Jae In coughed sometimes scaring me that she would

puke it all out but thankfully she did not do so. She finished eating and I washed her face. I took her in my arms and

patted her to sleep. She fell asleep really quick. I was relieved. I slowly put her in her cradle making it comfortable

for her.

It was my turn to eat now. Usually Chanyeol and I would have dinner together. He was such a jerk. He had the

habit of cracking silly jokes while eating. I smiled while I thought of them. Ohh..I missed him so much already and it

had just been 3 hours that he had left.

I took out a little bit of kimchi and Jajjangmyeon and ate them slowly. I was in no mood to eat tonight but then I had

to eat. I took a little more jajjangmyeon and then sat down on the couch switching on the TV.

Some thrilling sitcom was airing at that moment. It seemed interesting and I started watching it. I was watching it

with full concentration while I was eating. I did not notice the time when it suddenly got over and it had a cliffhanger

in the end. Uff…they always have to do this.

I surfed again to find a music channel. SHINee was dancing to Lucifer. Ohh…how much I loved that song. Then

they started with ads. Irritating stuff. I changed the channel again and this time I pressed many the button many

times.

The channels went one after the another. That’s when it stopped at a news channel. They were showing images of

two burning flights. I stopped.

“ Two flights have crashed in the Incheon International Airport this evening. One had just taken off while

the other was landing. The flight that had taken off was a Boing 6600. It was going to China. The flight

which was going to land was an Airbus-44. It was coming from Australia. Almost all passengers have

died. The fire brigade is still searching for anyone alive. We will soon show you the list of casualties.“

I was in a state of shock. It was the flight Chanyeol had to board tonight. It had crashed….it had flames all around

it…it was burning….all passengers had died….no one was alive….th…the plane was burning…..

The plate fell down…my hands had gone numb. Tears were falling down my eyes. This could not be. This could not

happen to Chanyeol. It was not possible. Who would come back to me…?? Who would bring Jae In new

toys…?? Who would teach her to walk….?? Who would love me…?? Who would I stay with….??

Everything around me went hazy. Chanyeol could not die…he could not leave this world. He could not leave Jae In

alone….NOOOO..!!

That’s when the doorbell rang. I came back to my senses. I wiped my tears and opened the door.

Chanyeol was standing there at the doorstep looking weirdly at me. He pushed me inside and went around the

room looking for something. He then saw my plate on the floor. He came to me and asked…

“ What happened….why is this lying on the floor…?? You were watching…..”

I just jumped over him and hugged him. I was never so happy to see Chanyeol. He was standing in front of me

alive.

“ Channie…I love you soo  ..soo much,,,,you are alive…!! You are here…!! “ I kissed him and hugged him tight. I

started crying out of joy. I was actually wailing like a mad person.

“ I left my flight tickets you know….now it seems I have to take tomorrow’s flight…!! Anyways do you know

where are they…?? “

“ Screw the flight tickets…!! First pinch me…and pinch me hard…!! “ I said smiling at him, teary eyed.

“ Why…?? “ he asked.

“ Will you…pabo…do as I say…!! “ I shouted. He pinched me. It was not a dream. It was not a dream. He was

alive. My Channie was alive….Jae In- ah’s appa was alive.
