1. the reaction a fangirl has to any mention or sighting of the object of her "affection". These reactions include shortness of breath, fainting, highpitched noises, shaking, fierce head shaking as if in the midst of a seizure, wet , endless blog posts, etc.
2. a gathering of two or more fangirls in which they proceed to waste endless amounts of time ogling, discussing/arguing, stalking, etc. the object of their "affection"

Well, let's make this an equal opportunity definition. Fangirling actually applies to boys, too. (What, you think male fans don't spazz? They can be worse!)
Back in the day, as my mother used to say, watching a concert entails buying a ticket with friends, setting aside a schedule, getting dressed up in presentable but comfortable clothes, watching the actual concert, and having dinner afterwards. That was before fangirling days.
This trilogy is an account, from three (or more) point of views, of what may be one of the most elaborate, expensive fangirling in the lives of five people. It is based on actual events, but again, this is a fan FICTION, so, keep an open mind.
The first story, SERENDIPITY, is Clare's story.
The second, CURIOSITY, is LeeYan's story.
The third, IRONY, is Yiuhan's story.
The stories will be posted simultaneously and we hope you'll read and support all three.
Foreword
Serendipity: a talent for making fortunate discoveries while searching for other things; good fortune; luck.
I've always believed that I have a warped version of that thing. Getting something while aiming for something else.
It all started when my well-planned trip to South Korea went bust. Well, no. not really. It started when I joined a game show on a dare. not even being fond of trivia, but because somebody said I was probably "too chicken- scared" to join, I wound up winning a decent sum of money on the darn thing....but that's an entirely different story. Fast forward to me now having some money and wanting something memorable to spend it on: A trip to Seoul.
Airline ticket paid for, hotel booked, itinerary researched, budget set and vacation leave filed…my lack of documentation got my visa denied. Yeah, I know. I’m living a semi-charmed life.
So, there goes my best friend and another one of our buddies, enjoying the Korean vacation that I masterminded while I was stuck at home, moping my depressed off, when one of my friends gave me a dvd. “Watch this and get out of that rut, we’ll go to Korea next time.”
“This” turned out to be Oh, My Lady. A KDrama. I’m a er for KDramas.
First episode kinda . The guy was cute, yeah, but his curly mop of hair turned me off. But still, having nothing to do and armed with my huge party bag of Cheetos, I stuck it out until episode 2. Which led to…
Clare: (*Dialling Janine’s phone*) Janine!!!!! Who’s this guy?
Janine: (*Still groggy, it’s 3AM*) Wha…who?
Clare: This guy in Oh, My Lady! Who is he? JANINE, I THINK I’M IN LOVE!!!
Janine: Oh, I told you about that guy…that’s Choi Siwon of Super Junior.
Clare: Huh? I thought Siwon was the chubby guy?
Janine: Unnie, Siwon is the tall guy, Shindong is the chubby guy!
Clare: Janine, meet me at the usual spot tomorrow. We need to talk.
And that was how my ELFdom began. Pretty soon, I found out that my friend, LeeYan, whom I met through my KDrama fandom is also a Super Junior fan. And we began planning adventures for when Super Show 3 arrives in Manila. This would include staying at the same hotel...not really to stalk anyone, we are mature enough to know that seeing them would be a one in a thousand chance, we just wanted the opportunity to spazz, really.
As a part of my fangirling, I also began writing fan fictions, and this was where I met shinyiuhan, whom I eventually met up with for real. Leeyan also wrote his pwn fanfiction tiled DECISION.
Eventually, Jaja, Janine, Shinyiuhan, LeeYan and I got all our SS3 stalking plans in order which included:
- Saving up like crazy for VVIP seats
- Generating extra income for hotel accommodations
- Learning basic Korean (Well, if we do get unbelievably lucky and manage to meet the boys, we don’t want to be screaming incoherent English on their faces now, do we?)
To keep fan girling mode on during SS3 weekend, shinyiuhan and I also put up a contest on our story:

All too soon, probably because of all the extra work we did to have more funds for the adventure we planned, SS3 weekend is looming nearby. And I was stuck with a mountain of emails at the office.
