Final

I hope you dance

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean

Kibum could still remember this day. The day he had to leave him behind. It was the hardest decision in his life. And the last in it as well. He saw himself laying on the street dying. His love, his soul, Heechul was seated beside him, holding on to him like he was drowning. There were so many tears and sobs. “Don't leave me. Please... I can't live without you...”

Kibum felt the pain through his body, even though it was only a memory. He remembered lifting his hand, his boyfriends cheek. “Please don't cry.” A soft whisper. “It's okay. It's okay, Heechul. I won't leave you. I am always with you.” He could hear the sirenes drawing closer, but he knew that he wouldn't make it. “Promise me that you will never give up. For me.” Stupid driver... it was so cliché, like in these cheesy movies. A drunk hit and run, tearing a couple apart. “Please Heechul...” His voice sounded so dry, stammering. “Promise me to find love again....” Kibum coughed and winced from the pain. He felt tears from his boyfriend on his face, as he looked at him. “I can't...” Heechul sobbed heavily. “I love only you... I need only you.... don't die... please don't die!”

“I am sorry.” Kibum smiled and his arm fell down on the pavement, since his strength started leaving him. “I can't show you the stars anymore.... but I ...” He coughed blood again. “I will be your star....” Slowly, his eyes started closing and Heechuls sobs turned hysterically. “No... no please....” “I love you, Heenim....” Silence. Then a scream, worse than a wounded animal. “He is gone.”

Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

I hope you dance
I hope you dance

I am so sorry. Kibum sighed and watched the slumped form of his boyfriend, who was currently attending his funeral. He could feel the incredible pain Heechul felt. And he knew that it would take so incredibly much time for the other to heal. But Kibum knew that he needed to move on, find the one he was meant to be with. When you die, you get told if you met your soulmate. Kibum and Heechul weren't soulmates.

They loved each other, but they were not meant to be together. Kibums soulmate was an angel named Siwon. Before he died he wasn't able to meet him because Siwon never existed on earth. It was something really rare, but not less true. “He is mourning.” Kibum softly said, as he felt Siwon appearing behind him. “Of course he is.” The Angel replied and laid his hand on his soulmates shoulder. “He lost someone so important to him. I would be rather worried if he would be happy.”

Slowly Kibum nodded. “I can't go with you before he found the one he belongs to.” A little laughter made him turn around and look and the winged man. “What is so funny?” He asked and Siwon laughed again. “I expected nothing else from you. Of course you want to do so. I love you for that, you know?” Kibum blushed. He was still not used to having already someone else, even though it was his soulmate. That was why he wasn't able to return the confession yet. “I will be going with you someday.” “I know.”

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Livin' might mean takin' chances, but they're worth takin'
Lovin' might be a mistake, but it's worth makin'

Heechul felt like he was caught in a nightmare. He wasn't able to go to work, he wasn't able to sleep or to eat right. Only his family was able to force him to eat, at least a little. He missed Kibum so much, in every minute, every second, every breath. They had been together for so long, how could he not feel like he was ripped apart? Every time he woke up he looked around, hoping it was all just a bad dream. But then again – he was alone.

Kibum had died and left him alone. The feminine man wasn't even able to cry anymore. He knew that his deceased boyfriend wanted him to move on, to find another love. But how was he supposed to do that? Heechul didn't want to replace him, he couldn't imagine that he would be with anyone the way he was with Kibum. Whatever happened, Kibum always stood by his side, helping him keeping his head up. He was the strength in Heechuls life, the one that kept him going. And now he was gone. “Come back...” Heechuls voice sounded hoarse and scratchy.

Kibum watched him, but of course Heechul didn't know that the ghost was standing only an arm length away from him. “You need to go grocery shopping.” Kibum smiled. He knew that today, 2 months after the funeral, was the day when Heechul needed to meet him. “Go.” And as if Heechul heard him, he got up and grabbed a bag, before leaving for the supermarket. The building was not far away, so he walked there by foot, always having Kibum as his shadow. It was weird, Heechul felt like he wasn't alone, as he walked through the isles of the store, looking around what he could be buying. Being so wrapped up in his thoughts he didn't see the other man coming around the corner. Almost right away they bumped into each other, which caused Heechul to fall on his . He cursed slightly before a slender hand appeared in his view, clearly wanting to help him. “Oh my god, I am so sorry, I wasn't paying attention...”

Heechul blinked, looked up. There was a stammering, heavily accented voice, which belonged to a really, and he really meant it, REALLY handsome foreigner. “Let me help you. It was my fault.” Those eyes. Heechul felt weird stuff in his body happening as he grabbed the helping hand. The other man pulled him back on his feet. “I am so sorry. I hope you are not hurt.” “No I'm not.” Heechul couldn't help but smile a little bit. Why he was smiling, he wasn't sure, but it just felt right. “Can I treat you to a coffee?” His eyes went wide as he heard the invitation. “But … it was nothing!” Heechul looked at the foreigner and saw a shy smirk.

“Yeah I know... but I really want to. Please.” Another look at him told Heechul that “No” would not be taken as an answer and so he sighed softly, before nodding. “Alright.” He said. “By the way... my name is Kim Heechul.” The stranger bowed lightly. “Nice to meet you, Kim Heechul. My name is Han Geng. I am new here in South Korea.” Han Geng smiled and when it hit Heechul, he couldn't help but smiling back. “Nice to meet you too.”

Don't let some Hellbent heart leave you bitter
When you come close to sellin' out, reconsider
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance

If Kibum would have been able to talk to Heechul, he would have told him how incredible happy he was for him. Han Geng and Heechul had met again and again over weeks and months, slowly falling for each other. Heechuls eyes regained their fire, the very same fire that made Kibum fall in love with him so long ago. He even went back to dancing, the passion that almost died along with Kibum. Smiling the ghost watched Han Geng and Heechul walk over the graveyard. Heechul wanted to introduce his new love to him, Kibum could tell by the way their hands – or fingers – were interlaced.

“Hello Kibum.” Heechuls voice was still a little shaky, something that would need time before it would disappear. “I... I want to introduce Hang Geng to you....” He fought with his voice, before continuing. “I know that... you wanted me to move on... and... I think I can do this now...” Tears started running down his face and Heechul felt a comforting squeeze from his boyfriend. “I hope that you are happy, wherever you are and... that you can dance with the stars, like you always dreamed...” His voice broke and Heechul started crying heavily. His heartbreak was still present and everyone at this place knew that it would take time.

“It's okay.” Kibum smiled and wiped Heechuls tears off with his hand. “You have him by your side now. You don't need me anymore. We will see each other when your time has come. Thank you Heechul. Thank you for everything that you gave me.” He knew that the other couldn't hear him, but a small flinching told Kibum that Heechul noticed at least something. “It's time.” Kibum turned around and saw Siwon standing there. “I know.” Kibum smiled – it was happy and yet a little sad. This was goodbye forever. But it was okay, because Heechul wasn't alone anymore. “Live long and happy.” Kibum whispered into Heechuls ear and kissed him lightly on the cheek, before appearing besides Siwon. “Let's go.” He said and interlaced his fingers with Siwons. “My deed here is done.”

The angel smiled and nodded. They both watched as Han Geng pulled Heechul closer and the smaller laid his head on the shoulder of his boyfriend. Kibum suddenly felt a strange pull at his back and when he turned his head he ghasped. “I... I have wings!” Siwon laughed melodically. “Of course... you are an angel now. All angels have wings. Now let's go... they are waiting for us.” Kibum smiled and nodded, before they started rising up, towards the sky. Before Han Geng and Heechul went out of sight, Kibum let out a big smile and yelled: “See you again!” And with that a huge, bright light broke free of his body, causing the young men to look up. “Kibum...!” Heechuls eyes went wide and tears leaked out of his eyes. He heard him. See you again. And suddenly everything was okay. Heechul knew that Kibum was happy. And he himself was happy too. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, before he yelled out, from the bottom of his heart: “SEE YOU AGAIN!”

I hope you dance
I hope you dance
Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder, where those years have gone?

I hope you dance.

(Not) The End.

Chapter 1: Oh my god, this is so sweet! I almost had to cry when Heechul was at Kibum's grave. Really, this one is amazing! I love it.
I love how Kibum always looks after Heechul and that Heechul sees Kibum one last time in the end and hears him and now I feel like crying again because I'm happy and sad at the same time... does that sound strange?
And by the way - is that a song that quoted through the chapter?
