The World I Couldn't Show You
Description
He pulled the collar of his jacket up to shield his neck from the cold wind. He hurried through the dark streets until he noticed a figure slumped on the ground against a wall. The man's head was lowered, his hair covering his face and his eyes were closed as if he were sleeping.
He wondered if the man would survive through the night in this freezing weather. He contemplated for a second before he took off his jacket and carefully draped it over the man's body.
"You must have it tough," he said to the man. "I'm sorry that this is all I can give you." Taking one last look at the man, he then hurried off down the street.
The man opened his eyes and lifted his head to catch a glimpse of the figure's back disappearing into the distance. He glanced at the jacket wrapped around his body. A weak smile spread across his lips. He sighed in exhaustion. He glanced down at his hand clutching his stomach as his blood continued to spill.
