I was being like a tail to both Hee Rin and Chanyeol.. or better termed as a third wheel here..

Chanyeol offered to buy food for Hee Rin since accordingly she hadn't eaten her breakfast, I had no choice but to tag along since the Hee Rin and I belong to the same class and she asked me to accompany her..

she sure is numb right?

I sort of hate it. I mean I'm hurting here yet she doesn't even give a damn.. well, in the first place I haven't confessed my feelings for her.. so she isn't at fault.. It all goes back to me right?

Chanyeol entered the cafeteria and told us to just wait for him here outside since it was crowded inside.. we stayed outside and waited for him.

"Lulu, are you feeling okay now?" Hee Rin said as she placed the back of her hand on my forehead.

I flinched. she removed her hands and looked quite surprised.

"did I do something wrong?" she asked

"nothing." I answered.

you didn't. It was my fault for liking you. mine. I couldn't teach your heart to love me instead of Chanyeol.. and you both knew each other before I came to your life.. If only I could..

"you seem so cold towards me since yesterday" she said as she looked at me with concern in her eyes.

"I- uh.." I was about to reason out again when I heard my phone rang.

It was Hwayoung.

"wait a sec, I need to speak with Hwayoung" I said as I answered the call

"speak." I uttered sounding rude.

"Hyun ki. lost." I heard her as she was catching her breath.. my eyes widened in horror.

Why was Hyun ki here? and worst, he is lost. I don't quite understand..

this is bad. I glanced at Hee Rin and she looked at me intensely.. maybe it's because she was waiting for my answer to her question

"Hyun k-" my words were cut off..

"Hyun k- what? are you pertaining to Hyun ki?" Hee Rin asked

"you're with Hee Rin?! don't tell her." she said then hung up

I placed my phone back to my pocket and looked at Hee Rin.

How can I help Hwayoung look for Hyun ki without telling her..

"I have something to do." I said as I ran off

"wait.. what about Hyun ki? I heard you say his name! tell me!" Hee Rin said and followed me.

damn it. At this point she'll know what happened to Hyun ki.

we kept running around the campus.. me looking for Hyunki while Hee Rin still following me.

She sure is persistent.

I took a turn in a hallway in hopes of her losing sight of me.

then I heard crying..

it was Hyunki...

I ran faster to see Hyun ki with some guy.

"WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM?!" I yelled.

"appa" then Hyun ki ran to me and I hugged him

appa. that sounded music to my ears.

ME, Hyun ki considers me his father as well..

"what the hell?!" Hee Rin's voice brought me back to reality.

QUIT SPACING OUT LUHAN!

I turned to look at Hee Rin and she sure looked pissed.

"Hyun ki-ah, What are you doing here? " she said, her voice softened at Hyun ki's name.

"eomma" Hyun ki cried even more.

"WHAT.HAPPENED?!" she asked as her eyes bored holes on the guy with Hyun ki a while ago

"I only asked him if he's lost" the guy said.

"HYUN KI. WOULDN'T. CRY. LIKE. THAT. IF. YOU. DIDN'T. DO. ANYTHING. TO. HIM. NOW SPEAK." I said.

I have a point, right?

"I'm serious here. I asked him if he lost his mom 'cause he kept calling out some Hee Rin eomma.. then I held him on my arms and offered him some help finding his mom, then he started crying a lot more so I let him go" the guy said

Hee Rin walked closer to us and hugged Hyun ki while he was clinging to me as if his life depended on me

"you must be scared.. don't worry, eomma's right here.. don't cry now" she said as she patted Hyun ki's head trying to comfort him..

I just stared at them in awe.. what a nice sight to see.. I've never seen Hee Rin like this, even before.

then a few other guys came by

"what happened here Eunkwang hyung?" asked a guy with piranha-like teeth.

"nothing much Peniel. I think I scared this kid over here." the guy called Eunkwang said.

"told you! you look scary hyung" a pale guy said.

He certainly said it right.

"don't you piss me off Sungjae" Eunkwang said.

The Sungjae guy rolled his eyes and soon those pair of eyes landed on Hee Rin and me.

"well, come on guys. we're gonna be late" said some guy with small eyes spoke.

"wait Hyunsik hyung" the one called Sungjae said as he walked closer

he held Hee Rin's wrist and pinned it against the wall. She let out a yelp in pain. that bastard!

“YOOK SUNGJAE!” his group mates yelled.

“WHAT DO YOU WANT?!” Hee Rin spat

"eommaaaa~" Hyun ki cried again

"Don't let Hyun ki see!" Hee Rin said

what the !?

I couldn't do a thing, I was holding Hyun ki and I held his head and placed it on my shoulders I trapped his head for him not to see Hee Rin at that state.

"Hee Rin-ah!" I shouted as Sungjae's face neared hers.

"You're the Hee Rin from SM's chimera right? I didn't know SM's baby had a son.. this is interesting." I heard him said

"tch. get you're hands off me. let me go!" Hee Rin almost spat at his face.

just then I heard Chanyeol's booming voice.

"YAH! get your hands off of her!"

Chanyeol held Sungjae's hands and gave it a light twist.

Sungjae withdrew his hands

“I apologize for Sungjae's behavior in his bahalf. sorry for the trouble” Eunkwang said, did a good 90 degree bow and walked off with his group

once again I felt useless. !

I took a nice look on Sungjae to take note of his face.

I promise I won't be this useless again.

I'll protect Hee Rin and Hyun ki.
