Kris was left slacked jaw at the sound. “WHERE?”

Chen looked up to see his tall didi who is looking at him with an appraising gaze. He was reading a book, so immersed in it before being interrupted. He had an intense look in his eyes, something kris rubbed on him, and the way he purse his lips to a line. It was enticingly “Beautiful” to the younger one.

“hmm?”

“I said you’re beautiful gege, to me you are”

Chen blushes at what his didi said, he felt a warm hand against his cheek “beautiful…” he got the younger mesmerized by his grace. “but xiumin ge, is perfect. To me he is” the boy bluntly said, making chen laugh at him. The younger one pouts, “what’s funny gege?” chen shook his head lightly. “pain”

“how? It hurts..”

“there are two kinds of… one is what hurts you in a bad way. And there’s the pain in your stomach when your friends are making you laugh so hard”

“oh” the boy voiced out cutely. And chen squealed “oh my gods!!! You should meet kyungie lulu ge, and baek…” and it strucked him, ‘baek’

“and it’s my fault, I was dense and was also putting them on each other’s throat” the taller of the breakfast couple sighed. Which made the smaller one sigh too, “come to think of it. yes, it’s your fault—

“thanks for rubbing salts on our wounds hyung… appreciated” chanyeol’s sarcasm is audible, and he smirk before frowning  again “technically, and most of it is Kris’ ignorance and cool façade’s fault and Jongdae’s martyrdom” luhan interjected

It was a long hour air ride. And it stiffens the dragon’s body. Much to the boy’s surprise, he wasn’t happy; he was nervous, anxious and very worried. The first and the last time Chen lashed out on him had cut deep in him. And it’s scary; to finally meet the man he loves so dearly. ‘did he change a lot? Did he forget about me? Did he ever thought of me after he left?’ the mere idea kills him inside, his chest restrict and restrain his heart from beating. He hand his hand on his chest as he breaths audibly. Then he felt a hand on his shoulder. “let’s go… and yeah, welcome home”

“let’s go to our house here”

“really, you’re gonna let me in your parent’s house here?”

“No, just my mom’s house, my dad lives alone now”

“OH” all kai could say, ‘that I didn’t know’. They hailed a cab and kris gave the instruction. The car ride was quiet.  Kris was not that happy to be back, it brings memories of the unwanted.

“we’re here” he said, followed by a loud sigh. He step on to the lawn and walked freely. The neighbors were eyeing them from head to toe, mostly young women. For starters, they are too hot for the town to handle. Kris walked to the porch and rang the bell. It was heard throughout the block, and it made Kris Sigh ‘so annoying’ and it never changed. The door opens and the woman on the other side gasped, mouth covered, “母亲”

The woman gasped and lounged for Kris, the boy wanted to cry, it’s been a while. He thought he will never see his mother nor return to this place “oh fan!!! My sweet child!!!” the woman cried as she hug him and he return the favor. Kai looked away not wanting to turmoil the sweet reunion with his ability to make it awkward. “母亲, I miss you, ho—how have you been?”

“I’m fine, how about you ? why visit all of the sudden?”

The question brought him back to his current situation. “ I’m looking for someone 母亲 somebody who took my heart away”

“oh…” the woman looked bewildered, and then noticed the awkward kai. “oh young man, come here!!! Are you my son’s friend?” the mother asked in excitement. “i…uhm… *sighs* I’m Kris’ supposed brother-in-law… ma’dam. My name’s Jong in kim” kai bowed full 90 degrees. “but you can call me kai” and gave his best smile. The younger man can’t believe kris came from someone this bubbly ‘man… who took his candy away.’

They sat at the kitchen counter; the mother-son tandem seems to be lost for words.

“your supposed brother-in-law?”

“yes”

“why supposed?”

“He went away, and it’s my fault… and I want to find him and clear things and make everything alright”

“HE LEFT? WHAT DID YOU DO?” the woman he calls his mother accused him, gasping “what’s the matter with you? What did you do to make him leave you?” kris sighed, he thought he had a back-up all the way from here; even his mother is disappointed with him. “my son, my sweet wu fan. Don’t let anger sip into your mind, you love him right?” with that Kris nodded vigorously. Nobody, not even him can explain the way he love that boy. The boy that got away, “then trust him, with that cold heart of yours”

His mother sigh, “it’s time to let go of the past fan”

“I can’t—

“the past hinders true love”

The thought gave kris a lot to ponder upon. On the hand, it was a slap on the face, ‘the past…’

“you’re not from here”

Kai turned to see a young looking man, very baby faced and too white… very Asian too. “yes… I’m not”

The native to the foreign land smiled at him “the name’s Henry… Henry Lau” he offered his hand to the Korean and kai happily shook hands with him “KAI…” henry grinned, “well Kai, welcome to Vancouver”

Henry, who is a Chinese-Canadian just like Kris, happens to be a little frank about things. He wasn’t subtle about how he likes the Chinese-Korean that is Kai. Kai would expertly avoid any contact from the boy, but henry’s very persistent.   He squeaked when henry’s hand lands on his firm . He gave the boy a menacing look and marched away. “hey… don’t walk away.”

“don’t.come.near.me”

“hey.. chill” henry draped his hands on kai’s shoulders before they slides down his biceps; triceps; then on the hands. Henry yanked him to the dark alley and pushed him to wall. Kai smirked “your face doesn’t do you good, you erted ” he sneered as he pushed henry away from him. Henry laughed “watcha gonna do about it?” he playfully tunt the boy. ‘wrong move’

“let me rearrange that for you”

Kai underestimated the boy, henry was a lot older, a pinch stronger and kai is on the edge of being molested. ‘er!!!’ he screamed in his head. He was thrown to the ground “rearrange my face, maybe I should rearrange your hole”

“get OFF!!!”

They both looked up and kris was hovering “K—KRIS!!!! You’re back?”

“blind are we? Get off of him.NOW”

“so is he the new now, wow~ you choose one cocky bas—

“let go of my brother in law now”

“brother-in-law? Wow!!!”

“okay… that’s it!!!”

They walked away from the alley, covered in bruises. “that bastard won’t stay down” kai muttered wiping blood from the corner of his plump lip. Then his phone rings “hello… really?... awesome… what? Okay… thanks Seungho hyung!! you’re my techy god!!!” (oh my Yang SEUNGHO!!) kai beamed at kris, and kris gaped at him “tracked down”

Chen was cooking up something in the kitchen, his uncle/hyung left him in the comforts of the manor all alone, by himself, tranquility of one human in the security of the place. the chef left on a market date with his lover. 'forever alone... i wonder... nah... whatever'

“smells food,”

“My brother cooks Kris, he made effort on making that gigantic Bento for your 11^th mon— sorry”

“it’s okay, I was distracted…”

“No, I’m sorry this is happening. I shouldn’t have let hi—

“it’s okay, like he said, peace. Maybe now he have peace of mind to talk to me”

Kai nodded and continued to walked towards the huge house. “damn, I want to eat!!!” and rang the bell.

Chen heard the bell, “coming…” and ran up to answer the door.

Kai and Kris waits as the door slowly opens…

Chen gasped “!!!”

“!!!” kai gasped

“oh my gods!!!! LEE TAEMIN!!!!”

“LITE!!!!”
