Chapter Thirty ; One Year Later

One Year Later


The sound of the baby crying echoed in the room, making Minhwa look up from her laptop to where the crib was being placed. She huffed softly as she got up from her seat and walked to the crib, picking her son up and holding him in her arms while rocking gently from side to side, trying to lure him back to sleep. But the baby's cries only got louder. The baby wasn't sick, and she had fed him a few minutes ago. And now he was awake again.
 

 "Jihoon-ah, eomma is right here. Don't cry, go back to sleep."

 When the baby didn't calm down, she began to walk around the room, holding the baby in her embrace.
Eventually, Jihoon calmed down. But he didn't go back to sleep.

 She still had a lot of work to do, so she put him on the bed beside her desk and resumed her work.

 The door of the apartment opened and her flatmate, Anna, walked in. Anna was half-korean and she used to be a colleague of Minhwa's at the S.M Ent.

 "Ayo! Wassup?" she yelled, taking off her shoes.

 "Fine, as usual." Minhwa replied nonchalantly, still looking at her laptop screen.

  Anna walked up to the bed, holding Jihoon up in her arms.

 "Aigoo, Jihoon-ah, have you been a good boy to mommy today?" she talked to the baby, smiling widely. The baby just made a few incoherent baby sounds, making her giggle. "Wow, Min! Your son just gets cuter each day! He's gonna be a lady-killer when he grows up!"

 Minhwa simply sighed, not looking back at her. "Yeah..." she mumbled.
