~Letting Go~

Was it a trick of the eye? Was it a hallucination?
You stared in awe, disbelief evident in your gaze. Sitting on a bench was a beautiful male, crying of all things. He cried silently, not bothering to wipe them away. It was like he didn't even realize himself that he was crying. You frowned. It just wasn't right that a person-let alone an extremely handsome one- was tearing up. You fished out a pink and yellow handkerchief from your bag and proceeded to the man. But paused a few feet away. Was it your place to comfort a complete stranger? You shrugged off those thoughts and gently tapped the man's shoulder. It startled you when he looked up. A single tear rolled down his cheek, a perfect picture of angst and beauty. You smiled lightly and held out the handkerchief. "'scuse me sir, but your crying," you said. A look of confusion crossed his face as he reached up to touch his face with one hand. His hand retracted back, damp from unknown tears. He took the hanky and dabbed his tears away. "I didn't notice..." he whispered, mostly to himself. You stood there patiently and quietly. He smiled ruefully. "Sorry if I ruined your handkerchief, I'll buy you a new one." he said worriedly. You grinned and shook your head. "Its okay, I have many more at home." you both share a short lived laugh.

You looked away a moment, tucking your hair behind your ear. "I know its none of my concern, but why were you crying?" He sighed, looking back to the paper. Taking it the wrong way, you flailed your arms. "Oh! But you don't need to tell me, we don't know each other anyway!" the man smiled. "Its okay. I'm Tegoshi Yuya." he gave a heart warming smile that made your heart skip a beat. "Kodaka Sakura." you bowed deeply. He chuckled. "Now we know each other." he said, patting the seat besides him. You sat down. "Kodaka-san... have you ever had your heart broken?" the question surprised you. You look up at the bright sky, collecting your thoughts. "No...I haven't experienced that." Tegoshi looked down sadly. "Well your lucky..." you have him a weird look. "How so?" "...my girlfriend broke up with me today." it was silent as you put the pieces together. The tears. The letter. It made sense.

Tegoshi laughed, but it was sad. "I'm sorry you had to hear that. But I felt...that I needed to let it out somehow." he explained, a pained looked on his face. You bit your bottom lip. "No, its alright." another silence as you silently thought. "Say, Kodaka-san, how does a person get over something like this...I know it odd, but I trust you." you turn to look Tegoshi in the eye. He was really serious. You smiled. "I think...that everyone has it rough. No matter what, it still hurts and will still hurt unless you move on. You have to accept things as they are now and hope for the best. Just...let go." you shrugged. "I don't know if it helps. Kinda thought of it on the spot so..." Tegoshi shook his head. He look down, gazing at the paper in his hands. "I think...your right. It will do myself good." he looked up with a genuine smile on his face. "Thank you very much, Sakura-san." you blushed. "Oh, it was nothing." Tegoshi and you just smiled at each other.
A breeze picked up, carrying the letter with it. "I just had to let it go."
