The rest of the afternoon passed quietly, and the next few days were no different.  Jaehwa laid in bed, waiting for Daejung to return from his errands, staring at the ceiling and listening to some music that was playing on the TV across the loft.  After the incident at the mall, Daejung hadn't wanted to risk taking her out anymore, so Jaehwa had been staying inside the apartment, biding her time.  She was growing rather impatient, wishing that there was some action to be taken against the man who was threatening her.  Daejung hadn't talked to her about any kind of plan yet, and she hoped that she wouldn't just be expected to sit in this room for an indefinite period of time.   There wasn't a lot for her to occupy her time with, so she had been keeping herself as busy as she could with Daejung's workout equipment and the television.  Daejung had a habit of leaving the apartment on an errand to get groceries, and taking much longer than Jaehwa thought necessary.  He had also told her that she couldn't use her cell phone, due to the possibility that it could be traced to her location.  She kept it turned off in her bag with the battery taken out.  Anyone besides Jaehwa might have thought that it was quite lonely, alone in the apartment, but she had been alone for several months in her own house, so she was used to solitude.  At least now she had someone by her side every day.   Some time later, Jaehwa heard the apartment door open and she sat up, glancing around the partition to make sure that it was Daejung who had just arrived.  He locked the door behind him and walked directly to the bar counter, depositing a few bags on top of it.  Jaehwa swung her legs over the side of the bed and made her way over to him.   He greeted her with a smile and dug into one of the bags, pulling out a small box and handing it to her.  She took it and looked it over curiously before opening it.  "I got you a new phone.  You should probably only use it to contact me." Daejung said as Jaehwa pulled out a slim, white cell phone from the box.  "Well, I don't really have many people to call anyway," she replied lightly, brushing the fact off as if it were nothing.  "Thank you."  She smiled up at him as she turned the phone over in her hand.  Taking the box with the charger, she went back to the bedroom to charge the device.         That night, Jaehwa's sleep was filled with unsettling dreams.  It wasn't the first night such a thing had happened since she had come to stay at Daejung's apartment, but previously she had at least been able to sleep soundly and put up with them.  This time, she was awoken every couple of hours, and eventually, the faint light of morning began to seep from behind the blinds.  She groaned softly, rubbing her forehead in frustration.   Resigning herself to the fact that she probably wasn't going to get any more sleep, she climbed out of bed and groggily made her way to the bathroom.  It didn't appear that Daejung was awake yet, so she shut the bathroom door quietly before turning on the light.  The sudden brightness made her head hurt and she squinted her eyes, blinking repeatedly to adjust them.   She went through her usual morning routine; brushing her teeth, washing her face, combing her hair.  When she was finished, she went for the bathroom door to get fresh clothes from the bedroom; she was already getting chilly in her sleeping shorts and tank top.  When she opened the door, she had barely taken a step out of the bathroom before slightly bumping into Daejung.   They both stood there for a few moments, the light from the bathroom casting their shadows out across the floor of the still dark loft.  Jaehwa glanced up at him and apologized, a little embarrassed.  She then moved past him to retrieve clothes from the dresser that she was currently using for her belongings.  As she dug through the middle drawer for a shirt, she heard the bathroom door close, and she was left in semi-darkness.  Only the misty, blue morning light shed from behind the blinds accompanied her.   She dressed quickly while Daejung was in the bathroom, and made the bed, before going into the kitchen for a glass of water.  Walking to the couch with her drink, she saw the blanket and pillow that he slept with every night, and immediately felt a little guilty.  She had been monopolizing his bed for almost a week.  Deciding that she would offer to sleep on the couch for a while, she sat down in one of the matching leather armchairs and the TV.   Daejung joined her in the living room a while later and folded the blanket neatly on top of the pillow.  "Why are you up so early?" he asked, seating himself comfortable on the couch.   "I couldn't sleep," Jaehwa responded, finishing her water and setting her glass on the coffee table.  She knew her tone of voice was letting on that there was more to it than just being unable to sleep.  However, Daejung asked no more questions for the time being.  Instead, he offered something unexpected.  "How about we go out today?"  Jaehwa looked at him with a questioning look on her face.  "You've been stuck in this apartment for days, and even though it was necessary, I think it's time you got out of here for a little while," he explained, and Jaehwa felt a smile spreading across her face.  "I would like that," she replied, trying to keep her composure through her relief and excitement.         Later that morning, Jaehwa and Daejung left the apartment to get breakfast at a cafe.  They took the car because Daejung wanted to stay as inconspicuous as possible.  Jaehwa was so glad to finally be outside again, but she didn't forget what had happened at the mall.  She found herself periodically glancing around, staying alert, and Daejung did the same.   After breakfast, Jaehwa suggested that they go see a movie, but Daejung told her that, even though it was a public place, a dark movie theater might not be the safest place to be when someone is trying to kill you.  She knew that he was right, which also made her realize that her second plan, visiting her father's grave, was
