The next morning came swiftly, and when Jaehwa opened her eyes to the beams of sunlight peeking through the blinds at her, she grimaced, turning over in the bed and covering her face with the blanket.  After lying still for a while, she peeked out from underneath the blanket at the digital clock on the nightstand.  It was almost noon.  Then, something else caught her eye; a piece of paper was being held in place on the small table by the edge of the clock.  She raised her head, shifting onto her stomach, and crawled closer to get a better look.  It was a note.     "I didn't want to wake you.  I went out for a few things, I'll return shortly. I'm sorry that I didn't make any breakfast, but you're welcome to eat whatever you like."     His words were scrawled neatly across the page, and reading it made Jaehwa smile, though she caught herself and stopped, yawning and turning onto her back.  She decided to get up and dress before Daejung came back.  The loft was a little chilly in comparison to the warm bed and she hurried into the bathroom to put on some warmer clothes.   After having gotten dressed and made the bed, she walked to the kitchen and opened the fridge.  Her appetite was rather poor for some reason, so she gave up on looking for food and settled for pouring herself a glass of water.  As she began to make her way to the couch, she stumbled slightly and reached out to catch herself on the bar counter.  Her palm twinged slightly and she glanced down at the healing cut that she had gotten from the shards of glass the day before; she had completely forgotten about it.  Some of the skin had reopened and it stung.   Placing her glass on the counter, Jaehwa went to the sink and ran her palm under the cold water for a few seconds.  She then grabbed a sheet of paper towel, folded it, and pressed it to her palm.  Temporarily satisfied with the treatment, she retrieved her glass of water and walked to the couch, seating herself comfortably against its cool leather.  She took a few swigs of water and placed the glass on the coffee table, reaching for the remote and turning on the TV.   Daejung had left the blinds in the whole loft closed and, even though the sun was shining brightly between them, yearning to illuminate the space, Jaehwa found that she felt more secure with them closed. She was having difficulty paying her full attention to the TV, so she flipped idly through the channels until she suddenly heard a click from the door, which startled her.  She turned quickly to glance in its direction as the door opened and Daejung appeared carrying a white bag.  Jaehwa let out a breath.  'Of course, who else would it be?  Is it normal to be this jumpy?'  She left the remote on the coffee table beside her water and stood up, greeting Daejung and walked to the kitchen where he stood unloading the bag onto the counter.   He looked at her as she approached him and smiled softly.  "How did you sleep?"   "Decently," Jaehwa replied, standing beside the counter and watching him put away the groceries.   "That's good," he answered, closing the fridge and opening the cupboard to finish storing the food.  "Did you eat?"   Jaehwa shook her head.  "Not yet.  I wasn't hungry."   Daejung turned to face her, closing the cupboard.  "Why?  It's after noon, are you feeling alright?"   Jaehwa looked at his concerned face and brightened her expression.  "I'm fine, I had some water.  Don't worry."   Daejung briefly looked like he was about to argue, but shrugged it off and reached a glass for himself down from the cupboard, filling it with water.  He drank half of it in one breath, then glanced at Jaehwa who had been watching him.  She looked away and he noticed the paper towel clutched in her hand.  "What's that for?" he asked, gesturing to her hand.  She pulled her sleeve over it.  "It's nothing.."  She wasn't quick with coming up with excuses.   He held out his hand to her.  "Let me see."   "I said it's nothing.."  She withdrew her hand further from him.   Without saying anything else, he reached out and grasped her wrist, turning her hand palm-u
